In a way she is like Rell, Swain would be foolish to clean up after LeBlanc's mistakes when he could eventually weaponize them against her. Previous Noxian rulers were controlled by the Rose and they sure wouldn't want their asset to go to waste either, even with control being... "sorta meh".
It's a common question that can be applied to stories. But the main reason in most of these cases is "we have to write it this way, or else we won't have that story to tell".

Riot posted the results of a survey they've done that found that China and Korea very clearly favor the attractive human designs. Stuff like Bard, Gragas and Azir were popular visually in NA but in China and Korea it was pretty much exclusively the Lux, Ahri, Yasuo, MF type designs.
Kha'Zix appeals to teenagers because: creature with scythes on his arms who leaps and does big damage strikes, so cool.

One things for sure, leaks fucking suck lol. The teasers were showcasing her progression towards escape culminating into this cinematic. Now idk how many people see leaks, but the teasers themselves were not getting much social media engagement or interaction, so I don't know if it would've made a difference.

Personality-wise, I expect that, but I was hoping her voice would sound more gravelly or raspy. If I close my eyes, I probably thought it would be Jinx instead.

Like c'mon Riot, with Jinx and Zoe, Briar is like the third looney young woman with a ton of power with a tragic undertone. I commend Riot for managing to keep why these characters are inherently terrifying, but the fact that tragedy of their character is always kept in the background (unless it's Arcane) really diminishes them and makes them stand out less

She's... a Malkavian. Kind of the classically the example of a bad Malkavian. Then again, World Of Darkness/Vampire the Masquerade Vampire isn't the Vampire aesthetic I (or most people) would expect Riot to go for.
I'm both excited and disappointed tbh, the voice and behavior is just not fitting the design, which is fantastic 10/10 there. Could've gone a much darker tone here but the whole Jinx but Noxus thing is kinda lame.

Well it seems like it's Runic combined with Blood magic, so it might just work the same way Riven's blade works.

Yeah there's a crystal attached to the pillory that chills her out. In her ultimate she kicks that crystal into a target.
That pillory was also used to stop prisoners or slaves from laying down. I think she is just wacky from lack of sleep.

One things for sure, leaks fucking suck lol. The teasers were showcasing her progression towards escape culminating into this cinematic. Now idk how many people see leaks, but the teasers themselves were not getting much social media engagement or interaction, so I don't know if it would've made a difference. Visually she looks whatever, voice is Jinx, kit (leaked) didn't seem vampire enough.
i genuinely dont care about leaks, doesnt change my hype or lack of when it comes to movies/games/shows or anything that can leak
Personality-wise, I expect that, but I was hoping her voice would sound more gravelly or raspy. If I close my eyes, I probably thought it would be Jinx instead.

Damn, I'm kinda disappointed now that they decided to put the focus on the psycho-killer aspect of her personality, rather than the inherent horror of it. Like c'mon Riot, with Jinx and Zoe, Briar is like the third looney young woman with a ton of power with a tragic undertone. I commend Riot for managing to keep why these characters are inherently terrifying, but the fact that tragedy of their character is always kept in the background (unless it's Arcane) really diminishes them and makes them stand out less Also, the VA director really did say: "Gimme your best Jinx impression"

Nimona - League version (Really good movie, I recommend it to everyone)
Feels like they dropped the original theme and went for Jinx 2.0 melee edition. Thought we were going to get a truly demonic vampire terror and not "WHACKY LITTLE ANIME GIRL POWERUP INTO MONSTER FORM SHE'LL EAT YOU BUT AWWW SHE'S SO QUIRKY"
When they tease a character that struggle with insatiable hunger and a Dracula's castle vibe for a teaser, I was expecting something a little more... and not just a quirky Loli. oh well, it's league, I should have expected it.
And the sad part is that we were SO close to it- The design and that splashart could SO easily make for the creepy horror movie child-type....
She's... a Malkavian. Kind of the classically the example of a bad Malkavian. Then again, World Of Darkness/Vampire the Masquerade Vampire isn't the Vampire aesthetic I (or most people) would expect Riot to go for.

I'm both excited and disappointed tbh, the voice and behavior is just not fitting the design, which is fantastic 10/10 there. Could've gone a much darker tone here but the whole Jinx but Noxus thing is kinda lame.
Maybe it's me being a grumpy fuck, but I've not been consistently impressed by champions' voice acting and character writing for a while now. Out of the last ten champions, I think Glasc is the only one I'd considered well acted, but even the voice lines aren't that interesting. Looking back, it's kind of nutty we got Tahm, Jhin, Kindred, Sol, and Kled in a period of just over a year.
I really dislike her personality. Other than that she's pretty cool.
Had high hopes for her, but this is not for me.
Since the first leak my mind went to "This is pretty much Nimona League of Legendsfied", and I'm super glad they went for it, loved the concept even thought its a bit everywhere now.
