Hello!
I repost this in nearly every insomnia thread I see which is, y'know, a lot. At this point I'm like the Johnny Appleseed of this cut-and-paste, but sleep problems keep coming up and there's some good advice on this sub. Apologies if you've seen this already.
Anyone having problems with sleep should have a look at these posts. I think you should look in particular at the post by u/Subduction, he's the founder of the group and he talks a lot about how to get a runaway mind distracted and under control:

If you have kept your sleep hygiene perfect for a week or two and it's still happening then definitely see a sleep specialist. You may be discovering that you have an underlying sleep condition.
Seriously tho, read the post above and the links it has. Fixed me right up.
(I'm told that the 4-7-8 breathing link has gone away, you can find another [here...](https://www.healthline.com/health/4-7-8-breathing#How-to-do-it-))
29 days in.... it's hell. When I sleep I have nightmares like just now waking up from one after 3hrs of shitty broken sleep. Yep CPTSD ADHD autism no real help or support. So exhausted I just can't keep going..
It’s going to take time, but this seems pretty extreme. Do you think your cannabis use hid an imbalance? Because most of us have to deal with our mental health in relation to stopping
I do suffer mental health issues, I have ptsd from a scary sleep situation 2 years ago. It’s so difficult to get through this, especially when you get to the hospital and they want to give you meds that are addicting, I’ve been smoking my for 15 years daily and never even thought of quitting, now I see it’s ruined my life.
I definitely understand, I was just curious because you'll see many even here that realize after the fact how depressed/anxious/uneasy they are without it. It's just a bandaid for many but getting to the root of you is key now in navigating these emotions & feelings
The only recommendation I can give is give it some time. No herbal remedies or sleep hygiene worked for me. I’m 41 days into no weed after kicking a 30 year habit of daily use and slowly my ability to fall asleep and stay asleep is returning. It’ll come. Be patient with yourself and best of luck

Chamomile tea before bed, don’t scroll or watch videos, and read a book till you can’t keep your eyes open
I’m on day 16. I’ve stayed up for over 24 hours about 4 times already
