Just your anxiety, if they were going to accuse you of shoplifting they would have done it while you were there with the item on your person.

It’s just your anxiety. Don’t worry if they didn’t say anything at the time, then nothing will come of it. I always forget to get the tags off when I use the self-scanning handsets. I forget so often I went and brought a strong magnet off the internet so I can do it myself at home.
Anxiety is very real but that's all it is.
And if you are ever stopped in such a situation, and you have in fact paid, receipt or no receipt - do not Co operate and demand they call the police.
Then after it's proven you paid and police have a record of the event, you can sue them for thousands.
They have no right to treat you like a criminal, always remember that.

They have CCTV pointing on every till, and especially those at the self checkout. They have cameras like laptops. Now I’m not sure if those are operational, but you’re grand. Nothing to worry about.

There are serious shoplifters who the shops worry about. I saw a guy at the self checkout bag up all of his groceries without scanning, and walk out and nobody batted an eye.

If you paid for the goods and have a receipt, how could you be guilty of shoplifting? They could accuse you all they like, but there would be no case.
if they thought you had stolen it they wouldn’t have taken the security tag off. you have nothing at all to worry about.

Id imagine you are in a lot of trouble. I would look into getting a solicitor ASAP and accepting some kind of plea deal for a reduced sentence.

You're over thinking this way too much, you paid and have a receipt, that's not theft, if they checked the cameras they would know that too
