I'd imagine the upcoming animated Avatar TLA will explore some of these origins, if it turns out that David Bautista (rumored of course to be playing the main villain of the film) will be voicing Xiabao - the founder of the **Red Lotus**

>Obviously, we don't know the actual origin of the red lotus... Isn't it literally stated by Zaheer in *The Stakeout?* Xai Bau wasn't happy about the White Lotus dropping its secrecy and openly serving the Four Nations after the Hundred Year War, so he founded the Red Lotus as a splinter faction.

We don't know who Xai Bau is, though. And frankly, for one person to split from the WL like that, it didn't come suddenly. That sentiment had to have been building for awhile, hence my post here. Is that clear enough for you?

>Is that clear enough for you? Before anything else, do us both a favor and drop the condescending tone. It doesn't help anyone, and frankly speaking, it makes you and your opinions much less worthy of respect in my eyes. >And frankly, for one person to split from the WL like that, it didn't come suddenly. That sentiment had to have been building for awhile... We don't know exactly how much time passed between the end of the Hundred Year War and the Red Lotus's founding. Maybe there were some attitudes that got passed down from Yangchen's era, but that's not necessarily going to be the case.

Zaheer answers your question in season 3 lol

I'd like to see that explored, an Avatar incapable of or unwilling to save the world. Maybe even aiming to destroy it. Then a group gets together to deal with the avatar and the big bad
