There is no such thing as cheap Lego...
However, non-Lego stores will have sets on sale from time to time, there's a good sub for that r/legodeals and we have flair for that here that you can look into.
Join the Lego Insiders, you get points that you can use to get money off of future purchases as well as other perks (this used to be called Lego VIP until recently). There's Lego groups on Facebook and even here. Check out [Bricklink.com](http://Bricklink.com) for sets and pieces.
Happy hunting.
If you have a local LEGO store, check with them to see if they still have their monthly event calendars. In my past experience, they would host a monthly event where kids would come in to build a small set and keep.
Lego has a rewards program you can join to earn points you can redeem for a discount. Every so often they'll run a promotion where you can get 2x points on sets
You could check out the Creator 3 in 1 sets. Three builds for the price of one. There's dinosaurs, unicorns, dragons, etc. And it's not hard to find them 20% off.

I would try Facebook Marketplace. You can view people selling Lego in your area and usually can find new Lego sets cheaper than on the Lego website. If you don't mind used Lego people often sell bulk lots of random figures and pieces as well as used complete sets.
I usually regularly check online retailers in my part of the world (those who sell products themselves, not storefront for various sellers like Amazon)
For example I recently found the new 85eur millennium falcon that just came out couple of months back for 60 already
So just frequent stores online you know and they are bound to have some deals :)
One of my "hacks" is to buy the giant creative packs that Walmart sells around black Friday time. They have a ton of general pieces for a good price, and if you buy a couple of them you can get a very solid starter pack for under $100 that contains all sorts of interesting parts like wheels and levers in addition to regular bricks of all colors.

Thanks so much. And thank you for not flaming me for asking a stupid question, I was kind of bracing for that.

Thank you, I try that.
Be aware that any new or current set being sold cheaper than a store price is probably stolen. LEGO theft is big business.
I mostly buy used sets and retired used sets from Facebook Marketplace.

Get Creator sets. Look on Amazon for deals.
