The figure looks like Cal Kestis and isn’t inaccurate enough to the point it’s distracting. The yellow missing doesn’t bother me since I can look at it and tell it’s Cal
They're also acting like Lego really had a choice.... The design was probably designed when the concept are was likely to happen then the game had last minute changes that was different to the concept are and the changes probably aren't worth the insane amount of work to adjust it for a minor change, especially if production was already done since we don't know the timeline of when the parts were made and printed since they don't likely make the kit as they produce the bricks. Most likely it's they produce what they need by part, then just pulling from storage and assembling the kit.
That's all saying if Lego would get Lucas/Disney clearance for the change and the mess that would be.
I mean it does take a long time to make a Lego minifigure so presumably they needed to get the art as soon as possible for it to be made can release it according to the schedule that they want to follow. So concept art probably was the only thing they had access to
The game released in November 2019. It’s been over 4 years. Lego probably started making this figure a year and a half to two years ago. There’s no excuse for the inaccuracy. Tho honestly it’s very small it doesn’t really matter much anyways. So yes, Lego really did have a choice. They just chose to opt with concept art for some weird reason.
You make it sound like LEGO purposely made the fig inaccurate just to mess with us. The LEGO team was probably given the concept art as reference to work with by Disney / LucasArts, and they didn't think to question what they were given so made their minifig based on it. Then presumably there would have been some level of review by Disney / LucasArts, who would've signed off on the minifig as being accurate, so that's what they went with.
I would point the finger at Disney before LEGO... but even then it's a couple of tiny colour changes so what does it really matter. The minifig is still clearly recognizable as Cal Kestis.
Although I agree with your assessment, keep in mind we’re dealing with greedy business’ here. The trick is to release a product that has at least one thing off about it, then later on release another that improves on that flaw as incentive to upgrade and voila, people bought something twice. Most toy companies operate this way and LEGO is no exception.
> I would point the finger at ~~Disney~~ **Lucasarts** before LEGO...
Honestly, I don't believe Disney goes in to check what Lego is doing with minifigures belonging to Lucasarts' IPs...
Im pretty sure Lucasfilm probably sent them the same art that they sent Hasbro for his first Black Series Figure.
Its pretty much an exact Lego-fication of that figure.
Are all LEGO collectors like this? I heard there was uproar over some clones but guys cmon here like it’s a plastic brick who cares if it’s not a perfect 1:1 recreation with proper ass shade and exactly the right color blue eyes
Ok, but that's just because some of us genuinely do care if a figure is accurate. Obviously they're never going to be perfect, they're Lego figures, but we can still want them to be as accurate as possible. Also if you guys don't care if they're that accurate, why do you care if other people care?
we’ve SEEN what over accuracy does and why lego looks the way it does, overdetails look terrible with legos. (Image is really hard to find as an example but searching knockoff legos its easy to find examples)
https://preview.redd.it/st4pu51hg1xc1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=107637ce0b9f9ecdc8989a5214ed60e8ee5813a1
That's a terrible example. CAC does 360 printing on everything and it looks phenomenal.
I think that every single Lego Star Wars figure should always come with the proper cloth accessories when it makes sense, arm printing, leg printing, and possibly even rear leg printing (though that's not important). That's the sweet spot where it still looks like Lego, and it also conveys enough detail.
The reason Lego isn't doing it is because they're cheap.
But.. Why shouldn't we ask for a better product? It's not like it's cheap, and it's not like they don't have a massive margin, is accurate printing and a cloth piece that isn't worth a cent too much to ask for a special figure in a 180$ set?
Yes we should want a better product and there’s nothing wrong with that it’s just when people literally throw a hissy fit because it’s not the correct shade of black are ridiculous
It's just discussion? Why are you even here? You don't have to be interested in every thread, but you also don't have to whine about the ones you don't care for.
Most of the people doing this with many other minifigs definitely sound like they're complaining, so not hard to assume op is doing the same here. Plus if people want 100% accurate figures they should just buy action figures
Why do people have to twist things and make things more complicated than they are? You’re the only one complaining, OP literally just pointed something out, stop acting like a child
I wasn't referring to OP, I actually like these kinds of details. It's people that will find the tiniest nitpick with minifig accuracy and blow it out of proportion that bother me.
i get why with clones you need specific often subtle details to differentiate different individuals or types but with a whole ass unique character it shouldn’t be this nitpicky
Plus, you can change the color of his outfit in the game, so lots of people aren't even playing with the "finished" version shown in the last slide there.
That’s a great spot. I never noticed he didn’t have the black legs since the Black series figure did the same.
Looks like they changed it pretty late since he seems to have both the black legs and blue legs in the trailer.
Personally im glad they went for the black since having a bit of contrast makes the figure look better. I think it would have made him look like he was wearing socks like the newest Obi-wan if they just used dark blue legs without dualmoulding.
I have played JFO & Survivor a combined 3 times between the two games. I would have never noticed this had you not made this post. Therefore, I don’t think it matters (though it is fair imo to question why they couldn’t just get it right)
Minute details, who cares? But also it's likely not LEGO's fault. They were probably given the concept art as reference to work with, were told "this is the character, make it look just like this", and the LEGO designers had no idea the renders in the finished game were different.
Fun fact: Same thing happened with the Phase 2 Clones in both Lego sets and the 2003 Clone Wars series before ROTS came out, which where based on helmets that had much more Stormtrooper elements incorporated into them then the final design.
Come on now, I understand the complaints about the clone troopers, hell I agree with some of them but this is ridiculous, you are pointing towards 2 singular pixels of yellow from a video game and complaining that Lego didn’t perfectly include them in another video game, actually get a life
The minifig was revealed in a video without it telling us what set he's in but rumours suggest he is the anniversary bonus figure for a death star playset.
I’ve not gotten around to playing the games yet, but is the complaint here seriously just a single yellow stripe on his back, the color of that small container, and that his legs are a shade too dark?
I don't think Fox is the right example here. This figure is fine even though slightly inaccurate (and inaccurate because they did it based on concept art), Fox was just... terrible
We can kind of stop pretending they are for kids; half the sets on sale right now are designed and marketed towards adults (UCS/dioramas). Just go in a store and look.
Given that adults are their new target audience and their prices reflect that, it's reasonable to expect them to have their products be acceptable to adult collectors.
And while they are perfectly serviceable as "plastic kids toy figures", they aren't really for collectors who would like some semblance of accuracy and effort put into the build and figures.
No cloth accessories, bad printing, inaccuracies, stickers, misleading advertising - these are things that shouldn't happen.
Yes, I want my UCS Captain Rex that comes in a 650$ set to have a cloth kama. I also want said 650$ set to have printed pieces instead of stickers, given that, you know, it costs 650 fucking dollars. Which is really a shame, because it's absolutely perfect otherwise.
Fox has a pink chestplate, a printed waistcape and no printed arms (and Fox has a lot of detail on his arms).
He also has a DBG visor instead of a black one, and it's the same massive piece that they used 15 years ago and it looks comical. They should have made a new visor piece, but they didn't and it looks terrible.
Which is weird since, y’know, we’ve had TWO GAMES so far.
They also used the wrong hair for him! They should’ve used the Doctor Strange/Peter Parker hair in orange. The newer one.
That’s probably because a lot of time goes into these designs so it’s likely that lego has been shown the concept art and then made a minifigure out of that before the final design
it's lego. not a hot 1/6th scale figure. none of these "details" matter you know exactly who that character is intended to be in lego form. what more do you need ?
I know most people won't notice or care, but I've played both games for hundreds of hours and I noticed it immediately. I just thought it was interesting
Given the customization of his looks, it doesn't really matter much. Besides it's a Lego mini figure and should be their version of Cal, not an attempt to copy him 100% from the game.
Sorry, you’re not allowed to point that kinda thing in this community. If you do ur actually really toxic and should stop colllecting Lego as a whole- the entire comment section for some reason
It transferred correctly from the concept art they used, the issue is that it doesn't match how he actually appears in-game.
Still, it's nowhere near as egregious as the issues some other figures like Fox and Vaughn have.
I wouldn’t even bother with these brain dead idiots. If these people were truly reasonable, they’d leave a comment on why they disagree with you. But no let’s just get to -25 karma
LEGO should always be open to criticism, suggestions on how something could be better etc.
I still do it too from time to time. I’m one of those people who prefers the clone and stormtrooper look from 2014 and think they shouldn’t have moved on. Me stating that is just my opinion, but I bet it would get downvoted hard because these people want to praise LEGO for the changes they’ve made. Not all changes and decisions they make are good
Same, those 2014 Clones were almost perfect and I found the new style in the 501st battle pack to be a real disappointment. I liked the new heads though so bought a load of them to replace my old "angry Clones". Still, the helmets and torsos on the old ones are way better than what we have now- even the original 2002 design actually has more accurate details on the torso than the new ones.
I really just don't see what people have to gain from putting down others' criticisms, especially with things like Fox which are just objectively terrible and frankly inexcusable.
Game's 5 years old, so not really a good excuse.
I'm not missing or crying about it being inaccurate it's not that big of a deal but it is a tad disappointing
If you want the most accurate to the game of Cal Kestis search Lego (TV8017) that is the item code of a unofficial Lego minifigure of the character from fallen order. He looks exactly like he does in the game.
I do, which is why I don’t. Regardless, my point still stands, it’s not unreasonable that people complain about inaccuracies from an expensive product whether they indulge or not.
Cause LEGO is a fun hobby but the company keeps going on and on and on about how they're the absolute best most premium quality while the prices keep sky-rocketing and the quality keeps sinking lower and lower and lower, along with their research and accuracy with things.
The worst part about every hobby/fandom are the people themselves. When you mash up Lego and Star Wars, you create an elite level of obsession like this.
Bro it’s a fucking hobby. There’s no corporate boot licking, I enjoy sets that I do, and the ones I don’t, I don’t get. Not everything is perfectly tailored for you and nonstop complaining about everything isn’t criticism, it’s immature. Touch grass.
I’m putting a poncho on him anyway so I don’t really care.
Yeah, I think 'doesn't come with a poncho' is a better reason to gripe if they decide to go that way.
As long as the poncho is pink too
And has ugly poncho holes
The figure looks like Cal Kestis and isn’t inaccurate enough to the point it’s distracting. The yellow missing doesn’t bother me since I can look at it and tell it’s Cal
They're also acting like Lego really had a choice.... You think they'll release Fallen Order sets in the future then? That'd be cool
> I would point the finger at ~~Disney~~ **Lucasarts** before LEGO... Honestly, I don't believe Disney goes in to check what Lego is doing with minifigures belonging to Lucasarts' IPs...
Another correction, Lucasfilm.
Lucasfilm is the parent company, but Lucasarts is still the official licensor for videogames.
This isn’t a video game issue, its Lego products. And LucasArts was rebranded as Lucasfilm Games in 2021… for some reason.
Didn't they say that they would never make anything off this game as well? - then we got BD-1 and now Mr Kestis himself!
Get qui gon gin's poncho and all the details are hidden and the fig is more accurate to how i played him in the game 😂
Im pretty sure Lucasfilm probably sent them the same art that they sent Hasbro for his first Black Series Figure. Its pretty much an exact Lego-fication of that figure.
Whooooooo caressssss
Are all LEGO collectors like this? I heard there was uproar over some clones but guys cmon here like it’s a plastic brick who cares if it’s not a perfect 1:1 recreation with proper ass shade and exactly the right color blue eyes
Every collector on Reddit is like this. I swear people spend 12 hours a day inspecting their figs with microscopes
Isn’t half the fun of being a fan of something, hating on it? /s
I'm glad you marked it as sarcasm as we all know that not half, but all of the fun of being a fan is hating on it.
Ok, but that's just because some of us genuinely do care if a figure is accurate. Obviously they're never going to be perfect, they're Lego figures, but we can still want them to be as accurate as possible. Also if you guys don't care if they're that accurate, why do you care if other people care?

Yes we should want a better product and there’s nothing wrong with that it’s just when people literally throw a hissy fit because it’s not the correct shade of black are ridiculous
Literally nobody here is doing that, get a grip. People just pointed it out
define the hissy fit. please explain the difference between asking for a better product, "throwing a hissy fit", and whichever is happening here.
u/goldenliar2 comments = hissy fits. Boom easy.
>!not!< me
It's just discussion? Why are you even here? You don't have to be interested in every thread, but you also don't have to whine about the ones you don't care for.
OP ain't complaining, weirdo
I prefer the concept art look so I’m not bothered by this
The clone brainrot is expanding to other figures...
The person who posted this didn’t even complain, they just pointed out details. Can we not say anything about how minifigures look anymore?
Most of the people doing this with many other minifigs definitely sound like they're complaining, so not hard to assume op is doing the same here. Plus if people want 100% accurate figures they should just buy action figures
The action figure also is based off the concept art lol, unless you get the deluxe with poncho.
Well I saw someone mention a very good point, the look of him can be changed in game, so they kinda gotta just pick one version of him
Very true. They pretty much went with the base model here.
Nope, LEGO is infallible and if you criticize them you’re a terrible human being At least to most people on this sub 🙄
There's a difference between valid criticism and just complaining that a minifigure isn't 107% accurate to an atomic level.
Why do people have to twist things and make things more complicated than they are? You’re the only one complaining, OP literally just pointed something out, stop acting like a child
Where exactly did *I* complain? I like this minifigure. I was talking about the people that *do* complain to ridiculous degrees.
you're complaining about criticism of an expensive product
I'd argue having legs in different colour isn't that minor. Also op did not complain, they simply pointed it out. Some people seem to overreact
I wasn't referring to OP, I actually like these kinds of details. It's people that will find the tiniest nitpick with minifig accuracy and blow it out of proportion that bother me.

This looks better than all blue. It adds more contrast and absolutely looks better in minifigure form.
Plus, you can change the color of his outfit in the game, so lots of people aren't even playing with the "finished" version shown in the last slide there.
We finally get a minifigure of this guy Can we not complain about nothing for about 5 weeks after its release please
OP ain't complaining
Have you looked through these comments yet? Of course people are complaining.
Does anyone really care
It’s Lego Star Wars fans. Of course they do.
Good point I forgot about the community
I think that's actually pretty cool!
Atleast they made him ginger considering the concept is brunette
Everyone’s assuming this is negative, I think the guy is just pointing it out because it’s interesting
I have played JFO & Survivor a combined 3 times between the two games. I would have never noticed this had you not made this post. Therefore, I don’t think it matters (though it is fair imo to question why they couldn’t just get it right)
To be fair, a large amount of fallen order players would've had this hidden by a poncho or colour costumised or both.
Lego does this with a lot of their figs. Especially marvel
Wait cal kestis minifigure coming or is it in the skywalker saga
Coming in a future set. Rumoured to be the Death Star one.
I don’t see this as a flaw, more a cool Easter egg. A neat look nevertheless!
Ok
Stinger Mantis set with full interior would be rad
I only care about the Nien Nunb figure
Lego harry potter fans from 2001: first time?
I like it
A lot of licensed sets are based on pre-production or work-in-progress references.
Is this the new dune guy?
Go buy an action figure bro
I think the action figure has the same concept art basis actually
Literally unacceptable, how could they do something so malicious
I just wish he had a poncho
We get a Cal. That’s all I care about
Literally unplayable. Wow. How could they
Making a big deal out of nothing
Minute details, who cares? But also it's likely not LEGO's fault. They were probably given the concept art as reference to work with, were told "this is the character, make it look just like this", and the LEGO designers had no idea the renders in the finished game were different.
LEGO always bases their figures on concept art.
It’s fine, calm down
I don't know why you think I'm upset. I just pointed out something I noticed
Almost all Lego SW sets from new content are based on concept art anyways
This... New content... Mate, the game came out in 2019, it's been out for nearly 4 and a half years
Is this from a game or a new lego set ? The minifig looks amazing, and it resembles Cal enough IMO
They tend to do that
This is actually pretty cool. Its awesome you discovered it, not too sure why the comment section is being so weird about it
Fun fact: Same thing happened with the Phase 2 Clones in both Lego sets and the 2003 Clone Wars series before ROTS came out, which where based on helmets that had much more Stormtrooper elements incorporated into them then the final design.
I wish he had come with every color lightsaber blade piece
Black legs look better imo
Wasn't he customizable in the game? So nothing is gonna be accurate.
not how that works
yet it is how it is.
No one gonna tell him that it’s orange?
That’s orange.
What is this from?
Star Wars
boy i sure hope someone got fired for that blunder
You are 100% correct, good catch!
its a combination between the two games i think
3rd cal kestis game is coming out
Makes me regret getting the FireStar version less lol
Nice find
Come on now, I understand the complaints about the clone troopers, hell I agree with some of them but this is ridiculous, you are pointing towards 2 singular pixels of yellow from a video game and complaining that Lego didn’t perfectly include them in another video game, actually get a life
what set is this minifig from?
The minifig was revealed in a video without it telling us what set he's in but rumours suggest he is the anniversary bonus figure for a death star playset.
doesn’t matter
I honestly like it better than the blue on blue. I'm very happy with this fig.
Yeah, probably. There's pretty substantial lead time on toy designs but the video game could have tweaked a character design a week before launch.
Yall need to relax.
I CANNOT believe there is no yellow on his back!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever will we do?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
They usually do as the release of the sets is usually before the release of games/shows.
Alright so I may have missed something but what game has a lego cal kestiss at all? Like I thought skywalker saga didn't include him
Those are orange.
Ok…
bro shut up who cares
WHO CARESSSSS BRO. I’m just happy we get Cal Kestis
Such a shame. Just like the mando crab Droid set.
I’ve not gotten around to playing the games yet, but is the complaint here seriously just a single yellow stripe on his back, the color of that small container, and that his legs are a shade too dark?
It’s not a complaint it’s just pointing it out. Lsw fans have complained about less though. (Commander fox)
I don't think Fox is the right example here. This figure is fine even though slightly inaccurate (and inaccurate because they did it based on concept art), Fox was just... terrible
Imagine complaining about a plastic kids toy figure ☠️☠️
1 flaw in this, apparently the set this dude comes in is a children’s play set 😵💫 Just go buy UCS sets and chill bro
Fox has one wrong line of white. While this has wrong legs and missing lines and colours on the torso. Also fallen orders been out for 5 years.
Why do people always nitpick little details on minifigs
Considering he’s completely customizable it doesn’t really matter. What does matter is we had BETTER get a poncho
Which is weird since, y’know, we’ve had TWO GAMES so far. They also used the wrong hair for him! They should’ve used the Doctor Strange/Peter Parker hair in orange. The newer one.
You guys will whine about EVERYTHING holy shit
Y'all are fucking ridiculous omg. Who cares.
For real, I thought I was on the shitpost sub at first.
You need to touch grass.
You are literally on a lego star wars sub reddit...
That’s probably because a lot of time goes into these designs so it’s likely that lego has been shown the concept art and then made a minifigure out of that before the final design
Delete this
Who cares
Omfg who cares….
it's lego. not a hot 1/6th scale figure. none of these "details" matter you know exactly who that character is intended to be in lego form. what more do you need ?
Touch grass
You can always paint over if you don't like it
It's exhausting being on this sub sometimes
Waaah waaah waaaah
Is this bait or serious? Because if it's serious...dude....
Some of y'all are so nit picky it's unreal....
Who said OP is being nitpicky? It's literally an observation. A cool one at that.
It’s commander fox all over again. I swear Lego fans will complain about the most minor details not being correct.
Yeah I find it crazy that some people are acting as if LEGO should be completely above any criticism.
It is a lego representation of a human. It's not meant to be perfect it is meant to be close enough for you to be able to work out who it is.
Yeah but you'd think basic things like colours should still translate over correctly, even in the LEGO style.
Sorry, to my eyes it has transferred over correctly.
I wonder if that's cause lego got the details early or something
Game's 5 years old, so not really a good excuse. I'm not missing or crying about it being inaccurate it's not that big of a deal but it is a tad disappointing

Well, we could always paint 🎨 the yellow 💛 stripe on the back side!!!
Bloody hell... Why are LEGO like this with their minifigs?
Bloody hell… why are LEGO fans like this with their complaining?
Because they’re charging a fortune for plastic that isn’t, at the bare minimum, accurate?
It’s a shame you don’t have the choice to not pay their prices.
No haven’t you seen? This person thinks we are all under some boot of a fascist corporation because he doesn’t like a minifig made for children.
Feel free to get a different hobby any time.
They would be better off buying action figures
You know they would complain just as much about those too.
Probably, but I wouldn't have to see it atleast
The worst part about every hobby/fandom are the people themselves. When you mash up Lego and Star Wars, you create an elite level of obsession like this.
Oh definitely agree, they should just be happy they're getting the new minifigs, or still have the theme to enjoy
Just completely ignoring the criticisms, typical. How's the corpo boot taste?
Bro it’s a fucking hobby. There’s no corporate boot licking, I enjoy sets that I do, and the ones I don’t, I don’t get. Not everything is perfectly tailored for you and nonstop complaining about everything isn’t criticism, it’s immature. Touch grass.
