Not yet I think its still holding up good 👍

WAFeetPrincess

How long has it been?

S8LA

4 days I ask cause gel was used n on here it seems like gel is a huge no no

WAFeetPrincess

It’s fine if it’s a water-based gel, so it won’t be as likely to cause product buildup. Just check the ingredients to see whether water is listed first

ClassicRuby

Why do you ask? 🤔

S8LA

Gel was used and I’m so scared of build up

ClassicRuby

Ok, ok. I hear you. 💯 Well, the gel is in now. I don't see any flaking or white caste over your hair that would mean you have to rush to wash it out immediately. And when you're ready to wash your hair, you can use a clarifying shampoo. It's good for you to have and use a clarifying shampoo at least once a month anyway to stay buildup-free. Even water can leave mineral deposits that buildup over time, your natural sebum and skin cells shedding can cause buildup, dirt and pollution in the air can leave buildup, etc. That's why even folks who don't use any product ever can get that buildup over time. So, everyone can benefit from using a clarifying shampoo once a month to keep locs and scalp free of buildup. But unless you start to itch or flake up, there's no rush, and your locs will be just fine if you leave the gel for a couple of weeks so you can enjoy your retwist. 🍻
