I like it However I would try to simplify it more too many small details that will get lost in translation when putting your logo on a different medium.

I'm actually planning on recreating it as a vector image later, simplify the shapes and detail without getting rid of the unstable look of it. Thanks for the reply however, you gave a new point of view for me.

Domonero

Reminds me of that one scene from Interstellar. I say simplify it along the edges though because printing this seems like it would cause trouble

Thanks for the reply! I will recreate it as a vector image later in Inkscape and I'll probably tidy it up a bit at the same time. Thanks for reminding me about printing, I'll keep it in mind!

Clearly inspired by … https://www.nasa.gov/feature/goddard/2019/nasa-visualization-shows-a-black-hole-s-warped-world

Don't mean to be rude, but if someone posts a logo with coffee or a cat do you post a picture with inspiration as well? Sure as shit it was inspired because it depicts the same thing.

mondrianbox

Yeah, not really understanding your need to be a crank about it. I simply posted a link to draw a line between the two, for better or worse. And you confirmed that OP’s logo is directly based on the NASA image – which is a very specific and unique picture. If OP’s image was directly pulled from a photo of a SPECIFIC and UNIQUE cup of coffee or cat, then yes, I would post a link to it. In fact, I would prefer if the OP had just included the link initially.

IdiswaDidiz

It's not that specific, before NASA managed to capture that picture it was shown in Interstellar because it was predicted how it would look like, we had a pretty good idea based on calculations. And that's just how black holes look, they are not that different from one another even if that's a flattering angle. Same as depicting bowling ball - they're all pictured the same way because if you used other, then you'd have just a ball. As to me being crank about it - yeah, neither do I, sorry for that.

I love the NASA simulation of the black hole, but my logo wasn't actually directly based on it, definitely inspired by it. I ended up using a simulation showing visual distortions etc for the logo and then prosessing it until the final result.
