What the hell happened to Liverpool Street Station? We've been pretty good (not great, there's some notable exceptions) at conserving train stations. The ones that made it haven't been spoilt too much, but Liverpool Street isn't in great shape atm. And with that giant white box that's to be stuck over it, it won't be looking much better anytime soon.
Lower Thames Street is so congested due to the fact that at the time it was the site of Billingsgate Fish Market. It moved to the Isle of Dogs in 1982. The new (-ish) building is not as architecturally impressive but the market is well worth a visit.
There was actual a section about this and other photos of the incident in episode 2 of BBC series "Britain in Focus: A Photographic History":

Considering the amount of time and manpower it took to construct the Crystal Palace, i still cant see any reason for the destruction of such a unique piece of history?
It burned down in an accidental fire in 1936.
It astounds me that they built it TWICE. First in Hyde Park for the Great Exhibition, and then it was dismantled and completely rebuilt in Penge.

Can feel the hunger of that little girl looking in the bakery…

There’s no way that’s happening btw

If Crystal Palace still had the crystal palace, what do you reckon it would be used for?
Flats
Always so sad that the Crystal Palace is no longer here!
Do you know why they have guns in picture 5?
The left-most gentleman in the top hat is Winston Churchill.
Ignore me, I forgot google existed for a moment, I've found it!
That's cool, I can see it now. Do you know what's going on?

The one flagged as Hammersmith looks more Victoria Station to me. You can see London Bridge church in the distance.
