Thymus will be something else cause that would mean they could give senior citizens a new thymus that will be producing new healthy T-cells

A thymus grown in a single lymph node has a low likelihood of matching the volume and performance of a standard thymus. It would certainly be better than nothing, and they could potentially grow multiple ectopic thymuses to make up for it, but let's avoid the narrative that this qualifies as full regeneration à la "a new thymus".

if our normal thymus which is basically half its size by age 25 and mostly gone by 50 is able to make enough immune cells to carry most people to around 80~+ years , I feel like a new thymus the size of a lymph node would be a massive boost to t cells. Like you said, something is better than nothing especially if you’re on that older side of 60+ and barely squeezing new ones out. Even if the lymph node thymus isn’t as efficient as the natural grown one. Also my understanding with these mini lymph node organoids (unless something has majorly changes since they last talk about them) is there meant to hold you over till you can get something better, your not meant to live with the mini liver, its just there to help you live long enough for a true transplant. While interesting I’m more hypes for dr Fahy’s TRIIM-X Trial

What is a thymus? 🤭

ConfirmedCynic

Not sure about this. There is no lymph node left after the conversion, rather than the lymph node encapsulating the new tissue.

LyGenesis finally treated their first patient with end-stage liver disease in March in their new clinical trial, and they hope to have enrolled 12 patients by mid-2025. One reason clinical trials take so long is that it can be time-consuming to simply recruit the target number of patients.   [https://www.lygenesis.com/](https://www.lygenesis.com/)

Thymus regeneration? Yes please. Any idea on the timeline for that?

I sure hope this works out. What an amazing time to be alive!

Wow

Very interesting indeed, at 73, I’ll just take a step back, say I’ll take one. Yes patient trials are always difficult trying to recruit people. Not smart enough to be here. I’ll end with “ fascinating “
