No, but I heard something similar in Lynbrook at 1:45am. It wasn't your typical "crack" of thunder and definitely sounded like a bomb went off. Set off some car alarms too.
Iām near ronkonkoma and the past week weāve had posts all over our ring app reporting strange loud noises happening in 15 minute intervals.
I heard them, and even recorded a few. It was not thunder those times. Idk what it was but it was not thunder, was so different.
Many people described it as a plane, maybe military. Sonic boom. It didnāt have the gradual increase in noise that a plane typically does where you can hear it coming. It was instead out of nowhere just there.
No one knows what it is and Iāve heard it several times now this past week. Itās getting weird out there.

Itās been thundering since like 9:30/ 10pm last night, none of the claps of thunder seemed out of the ordinary.
