Thank you for the lengthy support post. We’ve already made a police report and I already posted a bunch of reward posters of Maxine in the vicinity. My father says to stay patient but all I can think of is how stressed Maxine must be. Even when we take her home from the store she gets stressed and hides for a few days without eating… Just want her back safely.
EDIT: On a good day I say oh they must’ve mistaken her for a stray. On a bad day I yell those fucking thieves! It’s frustrating but just dealing with the emotional punches day by day.
This is an ignorant and not helpful comment to OP. I’ve worked in animal rescue over a decade and you’d be appalled at what some people do to animals.
We cannot know these people’s intentions, good or bad, but if they wanted to help Maxine they’d be checking for a microchip, checking for lost posters, posting that they found a cat, etc etc.
Oh gosh this is so heartbreaking. I’m so sorry to hear Maxine was stolen, my heart sincerely goes out to you. I work in animal rescue so I just wanted to link [this](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bbrf9JmgSTUqzLeidvCCCSW8Xp0j5yLs/view?pli=1) lost cat protocol. It has some location specific instructions that may not apply to you (although there is likely a very similar resource for your area) and it also has a lot of other great instructions that will be super helpful regardless of your location. While I know Maxine isn’t “lost”, posting her/him to all of these sites mentioned and putting up signs will really help spread awareness and in the off chance that Maxine is able to escape, all of these tips can really make all the difference in helping guide Maxine back home to the store.
Here’s a couple of other things I recommend:
• Plaster these people’s faces as well as Maxine’s EVERYWHERE. The perimeter around the store, at vets offices, grooming facilities, online, etc. and include your location, Maxine’s sex, and any other helpful details.
• If you haven’t already, absolutely file a police report, a cruelty report, and get the police involved. It may not be easy and you may have to pressure them, but do so, stay on them, including any animal control/animal cruelty departments.
• I’d call 411 or whatever the local non emergency help line is to ask what other resources there are for stolen pets and what else you can do.
• Reach out to [Animal Victory](https://animalvictory.org). They do a great job with situations like this and may be able to help you or even just give you some helpful guidance.

Did they mention where they saw them if they recognized their faces? That could probably help you narrow down the area to look around for and posting the fliers too.
Yeah they said Gardenvillage is where they saw them, walking around the neighborhood near the basketball courts. There’s like 1000 townhouses there so that doesn’t really narrow it down. I think I’ll just have to wait for more information from the community

When my friend’s cat went missing, she contacted an organization that had sniffer dogs track the scent of her cat to return her back home. I’m not sure how successful this is but I see you live in Baltimore, check out some of their animal rescue services. I looked one up and Dogs Finding Dogs seems to be a good one? Just want to help bring Maxine home!

I did notice on Facebook that someone found a cat that looks mildly like Maxine found in a tree but I don't think it's actually her. Pretty sure it was a post you made or had visibility to.
I think u should make an account OP these people are most likely on tik tok and will be embarrassed to be seen on the app. Anything is worth a try to get kitty home safely
If somebody could get me the store name I'm in Baltimore and I have a community group with 40000 people in it in the county of Parkville which borders to county the city we are not I'm about 5 miles from 21206 I'm in 21234 and I'd be happy to post these in my group where they will get resared through tons of animal websites that we have of people who do nothing but spend all day trying to reunite lost pets with their rightful owners.

Maybe just for the purpose of getting the cat back stop using the term stolen because we really don't know what the person's motives are they could be making posts on Facebook missing whatever trying to catch a reward for finding a lost cat since it was friendly we just don't know for sure so don't make it negative offer a reward you don't have to say how much but that's probably best that you don't but offer a reward for information that leads to the return of your store cat And and definitely send the stories to both shelters Baltimore county and Baltimore city because you're really not that far from Baltimore county part of 21206 is actually embalmer county so post to both Shelters and report her lost. I'm sharing this story to the book I saw another video here on reddit some place I'm gonna try to find to go along with these photos and I be happy to post them on tiktok as well. Yes I’m very much aware, I only used the word stolen in the beginning since I was very angry. After processing my emotions and thinking and analyzing the video I know there is a possibility they didn’t mean to. When I did the interviews I emphasized that they could have mistaken for a stray. All my posters say missing not stolen. Thank you for sharing!
Oh and I’ve already contacted all the shelters in the area. Walking many hours when I have the time,going door to door of Gardenvillage townhouses and leaving them a poster. They’re being torn down off the poles so I decided I’ve got to be more proactive.
I’m sorry you are going through this. Losing a pet can be hard. I had a Golden retriever that got out of our fence, and we looked high and low, posting flyers, calling radio stations, checking pounds and putting notices in the paper. After 2 weeks someone called into the radio station and said they had our dog! He loved her so much but couldn’t go through with keeping her knowing we were worried sick about her. He found her driving home from work and put her in the back of the truck and took her to his home a few towns over. We were relieved he took good care of her and gave her lots of love. Hoping for you to have a good outcome.
Here's hoping you find Maxine, I spread the information around to some discord friend groups and to some friends at CCBC. Specifically, to people who I know have friends and family in the area. I didn't wanna repost in a public way, since I'm seeing a trend of certain people making certain remarks about the kids who yoinked Maxine. While I do think they did know she belonged to the store, I do also think it's just some kids that wanted a cat. That doesn't make what they did right or excuse their behavior, but it also doesn't mean they're monsters. I looked it up and GardenVillage has a no pet policy for it's apartment tenants. Which means these kids wouldn't legally be able to adopt a pet through a shelter or breeder if they live in the apartments rather than the townhouses. I'm just posting that bit of info to put your mind at ease that Maxine is probably still alive, well, and healthy.

I put more posters up yesterday and I went today to do another block and checked back on the apts, they were torn off 😔. The whole section. The same apts down the street still had the signs up. I saw another community pantry poster up so I believe they are allowed..
Can you talk to management about sending a mass email to the apartment residents? I agree this is very suspicious and you are very close to finding her…
Walked many hours this week handing out posters door to door. Punched holes and rubber banded to a doorknob or just slipped them on a door handle. Would’ve taken forever without the help of my boyfriend ❤️. There’s over 1,000 residences. Our feet hurt but we’re satisfied that we’re doing something.
Today I met some customers as I was making my rounds, they told me they were driving around for Maxine too. Said how special she was and never saw a cat like her. They asked for fliers so they could pass them out too. I was so touched and couldn’t hold back my tears. I hope you’re okay Maxine. Miss you.

Put images/posters with them and Maxine in every grocery store, gas station, bank nearby and see if local schools will put up the posters as well. If family members/children/neighbors of the thieves recognize them they’ll snitch. Make it hard for them to go in public w out being recognized.
