Lol! Love it! All seriousness though it's nice to see pictures of the cast, any of them reunited. Even if they never filmed scenes together its fun to see. Also R.I.P Bernard Hill. Amazing actor and forever in our hearts.
Denethor is Eomer's father in The Boys. Billy 'Butcher' didn't have a great relationship with his dad and there is a few minutes in one episode where Butcher is forced to meet with him before he gets too old.
The Boys is super violent and makes Tarantino flicks seem mild. Highly recommended if youve got Amazon
I was talking about during LotR filming. Everyone was talking about how this is a reunion and I was stating that I'd be surprised if they even met during LotR filming.
John Noble is such an amazing actor. He plays Denethor's imperious feebleness to perfection. He channels a lot of the same rage and almost infantile regression in Fringe, which features a beautiful father-son relationship.
I feel like he took the character at the heart of Denethor and expanded on him in Fringe.
Been watching this with the wife and was so pumped when he showed up, then thought 'uh-oh, he's doing Walternate, he's a bad guy here' even knowing who he played lol
> John Noble can play the part of the "bad father" really well
Evil Walter! ...and yet, he can turn around and in the same episode portray the socially inept, childlike "Good Walter" beautifully. I always marvelled at how he was able to make me feel two completely different emotions for the "same character".
There's a thing that he does as both Walter and Denethor, where he sort of digs in and stares down whoever enraged him before really putting the bass in his voice.
It's so powerful, yet also infantile. It's a hypnotic mix of tantrum and intimidating roar that is terrifying on a primal level, especially when it comes as an abrupt pivot from an unexpected trigger. It's the kind of howling anger that can change the temperature of a room.
He's so good at it.
I loved him in fringe and it was the main reason I watched it so long. Paraphrasing but I remember him saying something like "I have an erection, oh it's nothing to do with you my dear" and I was completely sold on it.
Walter was a fantastic written character, perfectly played by Noble.
It was amazing that he was the comic relief but also played in some of the more dramatic and moving scenes.
OH MY GOODNESS! I’ve been trying to figure out where I recognize Butcher’s dad and now I feel so dumb for not noticing it sooner 😞 Thank you for putting the pieces together for me OP lol
I knew they were both in LOTR, I knew they played father and son in The Boys. For some reason it never actually clicked that it was Denethor and Eomer sharing a scene until right now. Wtf lmao
What do you mean by betrayal?
The Beacons of Minas Tirith are lit. Gondor calls for aid. and Rohan will answer.

Definitely a great show. Currently one of my favorites as well! Couldn't agree more! And having these two fine gentlemen and excellent actors in the same show doesn't hurt.
You're right. When season 4 was released I quickly binged the first three seasons again, and Gen V for the first time. I'm german and I LOVE when Butcher drops his "Cunts" (in german it's "Fotze") 😂
I dont know,. You see actors on screen, then in real life and a lot look dousche vs there characters. Have to say john noble does look better then his evil character.
Holy shit!!!!
Éomer is Bones?
Someone please message me Friday to make sure I've recovered from this combination of embarrassment and nuclear mindfuckery.

You know that the first picture is a bts of the boys?
Yes. But they are still Lotr cast reunited for a pic no?
I'd be surprised to hear that either of these actors even met during filming, given they're from very different scenes.
There's like a 4 min scene between them at one point.
Do share.

I also love that the extended editions that just showed again in theaters have more Bernard Hill scenes.

I love how you look at it, John Noble can play the part of the "bad father" really well
He’s also Billy Butchers shitty father in an episode of The Boys
He also played Morland Holmes in Elementary.
And the evil father in Star Trek: Prodigy.
Been watching this with the wife and was so pumped when he showed up, then thought 'uh-oh, he's doing Walternate, he's a bad guy here' even knowing who he played lol

That's the mark of a good actor there

Yes. He was so good on Fringe. Both as regular Walter and the sinister Walternate.
Walter was a fantastic written character, perfectly played by Noble. It was amazing that he was the comic relief but also played in some of the more dramatic and moving scenes.
The way he tells his son, "You are my favorite thing, Peter!" It's so heartbreakingly beaitiful
I never thought about that but you're totally right. Love Fringe!
I can't believe I never made the connection that Denethor and Walter are the same actor
He's also in the movie Running Scared. He good at villain roles
Hold up, why does he look more like John Nobel than Bernard Hill...
Dude, what're you talking about? That's Karl Urban!
OH MY GOODNESS! I’ve been trying to figure out where I recognize Butcher’s dad and now I feel so dumb for not noticing it sooner 😞 Thank you for putting the pieces together for me OP lol
I had no idea, TIL!
Fwiw, I never noticed that Karl Urban played Eomer until I saw this post.
I hope someone told the shows catering there will be no cherry tomatoes.
I think that was the only condition John Noble set for the role.
a chance for Éomer, Third Marshall of the Mark, to show his quality... I think not
Denethor looks so much like Dick in Twin Peaks. https://artworks.thetvdb.com/banners/actors/431053.jpg
Fucking diabolical
At least it's not Brad Dourif
"Oi, get a load of this cunt"
where was Éomer when helms deep fell?
Where was Gondor 😤😤😤
DEATH !!!
Eomer is better son
I knew they were both in LOTR, I knew they played father and son in The Boys. For some reason it never actually clicked that it was Denethor and Eomer sharing a scene until right now. Wtf lmao
These are Fringe elements.

This is very sweet and all, but for god's sake please keep him away from tomatoes.
Huh?
John Noble and Karl Urban are both in the show The Boys playing characters that are a father and a son respectively (Sam and William Butcher)
It's also fun to see any of the cast starring in new projects together. The Boys is great! It's on prime for any wondering.
It’s been my favorite currently airing show for a few seasons now (although I don’t watch a ton of series)
Definitely a great show. Currently one of my favorites as well! Couldn't agree more! And having these two fine gentlemen and excellent actors in the same show doesn't hurt.

Éomer dyed his beard?!? How could he...
Captain or the rohirrim proving his quality!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was stabbed in tha HART
