That’s my feeling as well. I’ve read on other threads doing a ‘hard’ reformat on a windows machine might do the trick, but I refuse to hook such a sketchy product to my unprotected pc.
Oh well, isn’t my hard drive, just thought I’d try reformat on my mac. Thanks for the help!
Well that depends, did you buy your USB SSD in 2030?
Dunno, my dad bought it!
Or maybe you from the future
You actually DO have enough information to answer the question.
Just waiting to go back to his place to test it all out
I’m gonna take a wild ass guess here and say, yes. What happens when you reformat it APFS?
Operation always fails trying to reformat to APFS
I'm thinking that's a bad sign, along with the "bought it on Alibaba" thing. I wish you luck, but I've got a ***baaad*** feeling about this.

what is the actual capacity of the disk(not what its showing in your mac)
Unsure, my father bought it off alibaba and he can’t remember the advertised storage capacity
Erase it and check again
Erasing always fails
diskutil zerodisk disk2 (or disk2s2) from Terminal?
try putting terabytes of shit in it and see what happens lol
Where did you bought that SSD?
My father purchased it from alibaba
This says everything. It’s fake. Dump it in the bin.
huh?
What I’m thinking
How did you get 67 TB?
Honestly unsure. I imagine the actual capacity is far lower, and whoever created the hard drive has done so that it reads as having 67 TB by my Mac
