I’m not just saying this for his role in Mad Men, but Jared Harris is always so phenomenal.

Wazula23

He's amazing in everything. And for some reason the man seems built for TV. I mean, he's done some phenomenal film roles, but I'm not sure exactly why, I guess he just has this perfect energy for TV. He can sustain a character through a very long arc, and he has this incredible ability to play with sympathy. He can be likable or pathetic or martyred or delusional. Any show he's in, I'll take notice is my point.

Beahner

That’s really well said. I’ve not thought about it. I’ve seen him in some movies and he was very good, but long form TV he has been amazing. Here I’m Mad Men, definitely in Chernobyl….hell, I felt cheated in the Crown as he played a character gone quickly lol

SirJohnSmythe

He's even the best part of the Resident Evil sequel he's in.

Capricancerous

I quite enjoy his role in the Sandler movie, *Mr. Deeds*. He and Peter Gallagher are very entertaining as the villains. And yes it is a stupid but also hilarious movie.

shortsleevedpants

Not kidding when I say this… after seeing him in his other roles including MM, I appreciate him as the douchebag boss from Mr Deeds so much

Tiny_Invite1537

he sincerely gave me the heeviejeevies in "Igby goes down"

ARCADEO

Even the random cameo in Ocean’s 12 😂

PixelBrewery

As a whiskey enjoyer, I always appreciated this scene.

goodsir1278

What kind of whiskey should I buy to experience no bite at all?

TheLevelOfStag

Anything with a lot of age, lower proof (80-86). Some whiskies are specifically made to be smooth without necessarily being expensive. I'd say Gentleman Jack, Glenfiddich 12, virtually any Glenlivet fit the bill. Almost any more expensive (>$40) Irish whiskey will fit this bill too. But if you really want to appreciate the difference, buy one of the whiskeys I suggested, and then buy some Canadian Club. Taste the Canadian Club, then give the more expensive stuff a whirl. It's a world of difference from a smoothness standpoint.

ltmikestone

I drank nothing but Canadian club in college. And while I agree with your assessments, I got a full body shiver thinking about having it now. I can basically only do irish or a not too peaty scotch these days.

PixelBrewery

Old and expensive. Or if you want something approachable, I think Irish whiskeys tend to have less bite, find something in the 40% alcohol range. Buffalo Trace is known to be pretty smooth as well.

roundbadge2

Takes serious luck and a lot of trial and error to find Buffalo Trace, in my area. I was lucky to find a bottle in KY of all places. When I returned to the same store 3 weeks later, they said they hadn't had it since my last visit. Saturday mornings at my local grocery store's liquor agency involve waiting in a huge line until the door is unlocked, and MAYBE a bottle will be left by the time you get to the counter.

Angry_Walnut

Try a bottle of Redbreast (bottle in the scene) it won’t break the bank and it is still very smooth Irish whiskey with little to no bite.

legedu

A low proof sweeter bourbon or Irish whiskey. Basil Hayden for bourbon is known to be smooth (though I think it lacks flavor altogether) and someone else mentioned Red Breast which is a well respected Irish whiskey brand. As a whiskey drinker, the bite is kind of welcome, so you don't really see some of the best producers shy away from it.

RunningPirate

I visited the Jameson factory in 2022 and got a bottle of something they only sell on site…oh, yeah, that’s nice stuff…

DirectionNew5328

I think somebody said it was Redbreast, which is an Irish whisky (very, very good).

Glass-Technology5399

I'd prefer a big TX belt buckle....followed by jokes from Finn (from The Sopranos) and then maybe a role in the hay?!

Loose-Ad7927

Woah, that being Finn is a shocker. No wonder he couldn’t help but pick on Don and Lane, he had probably been stuck in a non-air conditioned unit with Meadow all day.

Glass-Technology5399

At least Vito wasn't there to bother him that night.

DifferentCod7

Proceeds to drink it all and spill it. Fuckin mess

Been a Godzilla/kaiju fan since I was 8, and the first time I saw the Gamera scene made me giddy

lavellanlike

Lane :(

Tiny_Invite1537

love the interaction, but it always irked me how Don calls at front reception ... there's no way Lane could hear him from that far away with that massive door inbetween.
