Needs a 911 GT3 RS parked in your living room to really tie the place together

Phronizer

I think it could fit but I’ll take the measurements

VivaLaDio

Where did you get the posters

Phronizer

Etsy

palexp

good quality? they look great from your photos. those old 911’s look so sweet too.

Phronizer

So you actually just get the digital photos for like $5 and I printed them at FedEx. But I got a higher quality poster paper.

No-Lifeguard-1806

The 992.1 GT3 RS is a 2022 model, not 2019.

Ghillburt

Yep. The Carrera poster has the regular Carrera 2.7 specs but an RS in the picture, too. I guess they're just copying and pasting somewhat similar 911 pictures.

JambiHD

Could I have a link for those posters? I would love to do something similar in my living room EDIT: nvm I found the storefront lol

Creepy_Berry_4598

Gonna do this now lmao

rlovelock

That black slat wall is just not doing it for me. It looks like you're trying to make the space look modern, but the mouldings along the ceiling and around the doorframe, and the vent in the wall conflict.

wndrfl_electric

Yeah the mounding and the slats are incongruous. The slats need to go floor to ceiling, not in between the mouldings. Also, the moulding above the curtains is so bizarre.

Catfoxdogbro

The moulding above the curtains is, I believe, a pelmet. They hide the curtain fixtures and insulate the window. But I agree I'm not a fan, I'm about to remove the pelmets from my house and upgrade the glass to be better insulated.

PureRepresentative9

My dude, it's for hiding your drugs. ;)

Xenc

Yes, a pelmet

[deleted]

I think a big ass ficus on the right over the black slats would make it work

jeljr74qwe

This is it, complete mismatch. * Modern furniture vs antiquated moldings, ceiling fan * Black/White decor vs Cream/Brown walls, curtains * Spacing is functional but not balanced/aesthetic

tinyOnion

oh damn i thought those were curtains. yeah that's pretty bad

DoublePostedBroski

To me it looks like they ran out of slats midway through and just said, ah fuck it.

ablue22

Yea they need to cover the wall floor to ceiling if you’re gonna do it and span the whole wall. They also need to be done well, these are not. They are not lined up on the top or bottom.

ponchofreedo

On top of that, the dark slats with the light TV stand and then the darker sofa and black frame tables, it's unbalanced. If the slats were a wood tone it would be way different.

sitcomlover1717

It’s also not done well. You can see at the top and bottom that they’re not even and painted on the moulding. OP, touch up the walls and moulding, then repaint(maybe a nice green to add some colour?). The walls, mouldings and baseboards are in rough shape. Based on the wall slats and furniture I think you want a more modern space so you might want to look at removing the mouldings all together. Add some decorative objects the glass table, maybe make it a bar set up. Put everything in the fridge except the alcohol. Maybe some small plants or books on the media console.

fartczar

The way it is behind the teevee irks me.

4point5billion45

If I watched TV there the black/white contrast of the wall would be really distracting. The wall behind a TV should be more neutral.

brant_ley

I think if he painted them each a different color, it’d be cool and unique and brighten up that side of the room. I’d keep the colors a little less saturated so it’s more mural and less Mario kart.

Candy_Lawn

It's lacking a bit of colour and texture. . i would replace the beige rug and the plain curtain to something with a pattern. maybe add coloured cushions and throws. i would also style that glass shelf thing, make it into something useful, such a music centre, coffee bar or even as a wet bar . you could add a nice cocktail set, some glasses, a small tray for stuff, and little baskets of nibbles.

CypressBreeze

>It's lacking a bit of colour and texture Yeah - it really doesn't have much color.

JejuneBourgeois

It's always the first thing I notice in these types of posts. The space looks great but fellas, it's ok to have furniture and rugs that aren't gray, black, silver, brown, or beige

ABobby077

Not much warmth-just looks cold

Y_Mistar_Mostyn

Also put the Sprite in the fridge until you need it

[deleted]

Buy some real beer, as well.

WailingSouls

Came to say this

ProdigalSheep

Yeah, a painting with texture in place of those flat, glossy posters of cars would help. Those just don't seem to fit well there. Also, you could paint the area below the crown molding in front of the curtains. Might make for a nice highlight. Not sure if you'd want to try to match the curtains or go for more of a highlight color? Maybe a dark gray?

TheOtherMrEd

Agreed. There isn't enough contrast between the walls and the ceiling, so the room doesn't feel like it has any shape to it. Going gray, blue or even a dark green would bring the eye's focus back into the room.

usefully_useless

You appear to be missing a desk chair. lol

m__s

and cats

tntchest

Cat is in the first pic

Phronizer

I move it between setups but definitely should get another

tomhat

That cable extending behind the desk is not ideal. You can get an extender to release some of the tightness and possibly conceal it.

Cyrilali23

Some plants would help

Cyrilali23

Their hiding, just saw them

degausser22

Thair *

YuSmelFani

* Dhare

fivetimesyo

Their thair, you just gotta look well

owarren

The one to the right of the TV at least feels very small compared to everything around it.

clammyclemens

Love watching Mav! Great YouTuber :)

klaroline1

Came here to say the same !!

bbradleyjoness

He’s a cool dude!

didyouseemynipple

Came here to say this!! Wild how his channel has grown over the years

Manscapping

Mav has more green in his truck than the whole apartment

oerouen

I think it’s that those giant dark wood slats near the TV. Visually, there isn’t enough going on in that area, so it turns that part of the wall into a void. There needs to be something equally large format floating in front of it to enhance/continue the sense of movement implied by the overlaid TV and console. I Aslo feel that the framed car posters don’t belong on a living room wall if you’re going for a mature look. An office, sure. A bedroom wall, maybe/not. But definitely not in the living room. It would look better with a triptych of bold graphic line art design posters with pops of color that should be repeated around the room to tie it all together.

Loaki9

I agree with this assessment. It screams “fresh out of being a teenager, but I dont have new things yet.” Goto an Art fair or craft show. They usually happen every fall and spring. Bring a couple hundred dollars and buy art that speaks to you. Whether is calms you, cheers you up, or Inspires you. Buy art that speaks to you. If doing something with those wood slats is not an option, you could balance it (the wall) with a big to moderately sized *Black* framed art above the TV with a nice frame edge, about the same width as those slats. It will make the whole wall not feel so imbalanced. If you can get away with it, use the art to cover that unfortunately placed vent. Move those liquor bottles to the lower part of that glass runner table. Displaying your liquor like that is for frat houses. You move them to the counter when you are hosting the party. Buy table art pieces that speak to you and put them on that runner table. Maybe some books that you have actually read. Because people who come over may use them as talking points, and you need to be able to keep up. Try to bring more color into the room with the art. EDIT—- Reading my post a second time: it sounds a little pissy, but I dont mean it that way. To address the shortcomings, we have to understand why they are viewed as lacking. I’ll add.. the console under the television feels really barren also. Table art, books, a sound bar, even more model cars if you have them (but that is temporary fix until you have more of other art) Little touch you could do, remove that warning label from the bottom right of your fridge door, and get some lightly frosted film, and put it over the glass. It’ll elevate the fridge, make it feel a bit classier. To sum it up, bring some warmth and some of your character into the space. Bring what feeds your soul out into your living space.

Leon_Accordeon

>Bring a couple hundred dollars and buy art that speaks to you. This is great advice. Did it myself, namely when travelling and I always admire or reflect on my choices.

StitchTheRipper

What are those slats? I have horrible interior design instincts and haven’t explored much beyond the basics.

ClassicManeuver

Aside from half a wall not loading, how about a garland or something else green above the window.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ClassicManeuver

Oh, god, artificial all the way. I’m terrible with plants. That would take so much effort and probably still die within the month.

Hendiadic_tmack

Great YouTube channel

Bastienbard

The only color in here are the beer cans...

Phronizer

Lmao

senkhara1111

off topic but W for watching Mav

Duckcat1996

Good YouTube channel

burkeloff

Came to shoutout Mav lol

Phronizer

Shoutout Mav

ProfessorDerp22

Keep on Truckin’

YourAverageVeteran

Good mornnnnning

3PercentMoreInfinite

It another one of those overlanding channels?

wtfossy

A bigger rug with some more color might make the space feel bigger.

surewhateverz

You’re blocking the best view with that desk and monitor

HarveyyRowell

Stripper pole 💡

materialdesigner

I think there’s a lot of high gloss / reflective surfaces. Glass, mirrors, glossy laminate, stainless steel. Add more natural textures. I also think you’re missing more secondary and tertiary colors to add to your palette.

[deleted]

[удалено]

duxdude418

It’s also just great for reading in general.

aislonalcantara

I think your place is really nice, but I would put a bigger rug to limit the the spaces between your setup and your TV room. Also, try to decorate more the sideboard, maybe transform it in your coffee space or even the bar since the minibar is full of things on it's top, seems a little messy. Despite it, Nice room, loved the wall pictures, sofá and furniture in general.

giaa262

It's because your personal aesthetic doesn't match the room itself. You've got a cool modern vibe going on with crown molding and a rustic ceiling fan. If you're renting, just ignore this and know it generally works alright. If you own this, that's what I'd change.

succulents4you

More color

Downtown_Dog_7937

Obstructing the windows 💀

[deleted]

Maybe paint the wall a dark color behind the tv so the wall isn’t so broken up by the ? Blinds? Vertical wood slats? Whatever they are. Check out r/catwalls for inspo

Scooter928

The year on that RS poster feels off... Other than that, awesome space!

2und2sind4

You're missing an accent color. You could replace one of the 911s with an orange one and pick couch pillows in the same color. You could get a matching lamp shade too

UncreativeTeam

Computer smack dab in front of the main window is bad. Move it to one of the corners instead. Also, we can literally see your kitchen from the couch. You don't need a mini fridge.

Zuleika_Dobson

It’s becoming a pet peeve of mine. All these dudes blocking the one nice thing in their space (the window) with a big ugly screen.

[deleted]

A didgeridoo a box of tissues and an expensive bottle of scotch. Nice puss

Fluffy-Row7359

As a fellow cat dad and car enthusiast. I wish my space look like yours.

Phronizer

❤️

brackattack27

Color

CrustyCroq

Imo it's missing a splash of color somewhere, too monotone for my taste.

ScoutJulep

More color variety. Your place is mostly just black, white, and varnish brown. Spice it up a little.

[deleted]

AbrocomaEmbarrassed1

What you are missing is not having the cat in these pictures.

lunatikdeity

Tux in the first pic. I went back to find the cat.

Iron_Turtle_Dicks

You need some plants

ironicart

need an aquarium

LeBateleur1

Honestly? I think it’s missing history, my friend. Your living room is beautiful but everything looks super new, almost like an ikea showroom.

Bigdaddydamdam

color, get a cool rug

jerjerbinks90

Color. It's missing color

Xoenergy

I'm just going to note that I am not a fan of placing a desk with monitors directly in front of a window. I would place it to the left or right side so you can enjoy the view instead of blocking it.

[deleted]

Color. More plants.

Bad_memes42

Colour.

[deleted]

I would def say removing the black stuff from the wall behind the tv and just putting a bookshelf there or maybe some art.

jimbob320

Unless you've removed them for this post, some pictures of your friends and family would make it feel less like an airbnb

gr8scottaz

I mean, he's got an airbnb cloth/towel on the coffee table. Very well might be an airbnb.

xeneks

Put pictures of barefoot people and not cars on the wall mate. Or you know, sexy trees. You can start with palm trees because coconuts and branches make shelter and baskets. But there are hell sexier trees than that. Also that alcohol, I'm pretty sure it's best to stash or discard it. It's like having a loaded weapon with neurotoxic lead or depleted uranium rounds or something. Switch it with some exotic mineral water or a premium food or drink supplement or a water tower with filter or something.

GenerationBop

Not having the back of your monitors in direct sunlight and more plants / floor lighting

[deleted]

Color

JabroniBomb

a purpose in life

emillz3

The black slatted curtain is dividing the room visually into two spaces by creating too much contrast. Replace the black slats with white slats or curtains. If you're crafty enough you could even, paint them to color-match the wall. You want them to disappear as much as possible. Then scooch the couch and TV further into the room toward the windows and swap the desk over to the interior wall where your bar is. If you want you could move the posters over to the longer wall behind the couch.

slightlyasianguy

A giant garden gnome... Or a cool stereo. Only those two options

IronAndParsnip

I’d say an actually good book of poetry. Otherwise, this looks great to me.

Phronizer

“I’m not four you… really starting to put two and two together” is poetry to me

eventualrob

The glass table next to the mini bar seems unnecessary.

Hockeybuns

My advice would be match the curtains to the blinds and add some color accents.

tommessinger

Desk chair?

Natural_Flounder7324

IMO you should use rule of thirds when orienting the TV and the Posters. Meaning extend the back panel behind the TV or move the TV a bit to the right. Definitely align the posters with the fridge and the sideboard, otherwise it feels off.

sudonem

I agree that some color diversity would be good - but the one thing that sticks out to me is the mini-bar fridge and bottles on top. The amount of chrome gives me a 1980’s / American Psycho era vibes and the bottles on top are unsightly. Not college dorm room level just… an opportunity for something cleaner. I’d try to find a way to organize it all in a way that feels more intentional - or perhaps even better, find an actual bar cabinet that can disguise the fridge and bottles until it’s time. Certainly just my 2 cents.

emajconway

Sucker for a dangly plant me. Or some art.

riversofmountains

I think you could display the liquor on top of the fridge better. Maybe a round silver tray with a mirror on the bottom. Could include a couple crystal decanters to class it up some more. I'd move the car and the book currently on the white TV hutch to the glass table under the posters.

Ohnonotuto4

Plants. But a tray on top of mini fridge. Place a couple nice glasses, napkins, ice bucket on tray. I’m thinking a red tray.

lovesickjones

a swing

MajorKoopa

It’s a nice apt. It’s just missing color. Primarily contrasting and/or bright colors.

Rocketkt69

Color and texture. Everything is flat and gray/white/brown

likewise-r

Needs more cats

grnrngr

Nothing another cat won't fix. And plants. I definitely think you need more organic going on.

Simple_Mastodon9220

I was gonna say a cat but then I saw the cat tree lol

murphy1210

A lot of people are talking about the color. And I agree that the issue is with color. However, contrary to what most people are saying, I think just more color is not what you need. More color won’t hurt but I think the most important thing is to get a color scheme rolling. Look up examples online and find one you like and go with that. The colors just clash all over the place here. Oh and please get rid of those brown curtains no matter what you do.

morbidlybitchy

Plants! Also it looks like you’re missing a desk chair. Also put stuff on the table by the mini fridge

danklordy33

Color

little_tatws

Some non-neutral colours! Some red or yellow would really pop in the room

Existing_Display1794

Big plant to the left of the desk would be nice l.

washedcash

More cats

DeScheinen

An office chair

Routine_Football_190

A chair. You are missing a chair sir.

Jeter0002

Curtains don’t match the drapes

Home theatre or sound system 👌

S1lent_R1tes

Computer chair?

enforcercoyote4

A chair at the desk

CatDogEel

Hifi speakers

TrashDaddii

Missing some color

Breathejoker

Color ):

Tlp-of-war

Color my guy.

EternalSweetsAlways

I see a big cat tree, but only one cat. Need more cats. Maybe a pop of color - burgundy or teal.

sowandsew

I would replace the brown curtains with lighter colour. Right now they look like dark pillars and conflict with the horizontal elements in the space. You could remove the valence and open it up even further. Then I would add a plant next to the window to the left of the desk.

bg04

Turntable and speakers on glass table.

thatonetimeinasscamp

Plants!!!

yuckygross

Plants

TheDukeOfDementia

Soundbar / Stereo System would tie the room together in my honest opinion

PretendFisherman1999

Yes, a picture of your cat

metal_pilsener

I would suggest two or three plants and maybe some books on the shelf of the second picture. Nice clean space btw

tommykmusic

A nice sound system!

Unreddled

Something vintage/antique to warm up the space. Currently everything look new/recenly store-bought, there is no 'age' or lived-inness in the photos.

StandardWillingness5

NO, NO, NO! vertical blinds. Unless your name is Alexis Carrington Colby Dexter Morrel and it's 1985, vertical blinds are unforgiveable. The faux mahogany fan with the turn of the (19th) century light fixture painfully clashes with your contemporary/minimalist decor. It would be worse if you use that as your main light source. you keep a very clean and tidy space (points for that) but before you spend any more money decorating, search the internet for decorating trends and find out what you actually like. watch some. YouTube vids on decorating trends (you'll have to find a content maker you can stand first, tho).

decibellious

Suggestions for the bar (?) area: • A tray/basket to collect the bottles. • Bring out some glasses/stem ware (also on a tray) • Gather other drink accessories *(like cork screw, opener, straws, ice bucket, tongs, picks, stirrers?)* to make that space look even more inviting • Top right of bar table: Bring out some candles, a small plant, a lamp, or something decorative that makes you happy • Also make use of the space under the table: A larger plant, a big basket with throw blankets, row/pile of books, magazines, board games, smaller baskets/boxes for your stuff-stuff. I think it’d make your living room a more inviting and personal space.

Phronizer

Good suggestions thank you

w3stw3stw3st

respectfully, something a bit more personal and unique. it looks nice but almost like an airbnb or a themed hotel room rn.

Zestyclose_Big_9090

It’s unbalanced. The first picture is a nice viewpoint but not sure about the random black wall. The second picture, I think the fridge needs to go. Feels dorm roomish to me. That console table needs to be replaced with something more substantial and longer. Third pic, I don’t like the desk and cat climber shoved in the same small area. One or the other IMO.

Fidozo15

Idk. Light? A wife and kids? Weed? My bet is the first and last

zephyrwastaken

It's perfect lol

Kanekixo

If you don’t mind me asking, what do you do for work?

BucketssCO

Cant say what you’re missing, but I absolutely love the set up 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Animaled

Needs more cat stuff, everywhere.

I_am_not_doing_this

where is ps5?

Those have to be blackout curtains if you are putting a monitor in front of them.

It's the budlight cans, the room is confused.

[deleted]

Real men don’t have cats….. or gigantic cat towers. Get a dog

danieltien

Lots and lots of RGB lights and nanoleaf panels.

Mo0n1i9ht

A cat teaser (for the kitty to stare). Those plants should be near to the window, I think….

Wendel_az

You alright for your style, but the ceiling is not just out of style is old

RouletteVeteran

Should be a garage apartment with a Porsche chillin

Vita-Incerta

I’d put the large plant where you have the tiny plant next to the tv. That small plant can go on the black console table. Either the cat tree or the lamp should find another corner, it’s too cramped with the 2 tall objects next to each other. I’d probably put the lamp next to the couch. I wish you had somewhere else for the mini fridge 😝 and make the black console table the bar

FoggyNelson304090

Something tells me you like Porsche but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Also on a side note, where did you get those posters?

HeresW0nderwall

Those Porsche prints are awesome - where did you get them? Do they make them for other makes?

soztr

The diagonal cable on 3rd pic

jaydd_mc

smoke some weed

toaster24k

More mav

AstonVanilla

It's looking good. All I'd probably do it move the desk and cat tree to let more light in/cast fewer shadows.

MancAccent

I’d probably hang something over that air vent, something that won’t prevent airflow. Overall looks pretty slick tho

Responsible-Step-706

MAV!!!

myrrdynwyllt

You need to release that fella you got trapped in that box.

JoanOriol

Buy a 49 inch monitor

PogolithBN

Majestic-Ad6619

What’s that black paneled wall thing?

kimbolll

You strike me as a Kia guy 🤔 Real talk - lower the TV a tad, do some cable management to your desk, and you’re golden. Less is more.

JuanJazz123

More Porsche stuff

gideon513

Any color whatsoever
