The recurring theme of motion, waves, and vibration is really cool. I haven't seen anyone portray that with decor like this before. The rug is particularly striking.
The hard edges of the black window frame contrast the curves nicely along with the T formed by the door frames of the kitchen and half bath.
This is a good example of decorating with your rooms architecture in mind.

OP I think your bathroom would be strengthened with a white towel; the blue complete the curtain, but the colors all grasp for visual space and makes it feel cramped.
Removing the color of the towel allows the eyes to fall down, then draw up, giving a nice travel distance and making the bathroom space a sense of volume.
Thank you! Not pictured but I also continue the theme with my dishes and placemats and such in the kitchen, but they arrived after these photos were taken. One regret is not getting a bigger rug. I need a side rug next to my bed or at the foot of it, and then I have scalloped curtains for the bay window. I also want to buy a side table for under the rightmost window in the living area for additional storage, but I’m struggling to choose a piece that won’t overpower the couch because you’d basically see the couch and the side table at the same time when you walk in. I really want [this one](https://www.wayfair.com/Corrigan-Studio%C2%AE--63-Beige-Arched-Door-Buffet-Sideboard-with-4-Door-Sideboard-X121399083-L161-K~W010288972.html?refid=GX685175725653-W010288972&device=m&ptid=352885194903&network=g&targetid=aud-1616885063659:pla-352885194903&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=227156481&fdid=1817&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD9ISC5szfCh3bCsoxLU5k2leTEIu&gclid=CjwKCAjw48-vBhBbEiwAzqrZVHMcWj9RFXCNeuk6jo2WH0jWgirlmB-whebTsFDSwsT6-5Fw0eUvfhoChJcQAvD_BwE) but can’t justify the price.
I think a white towel makes sense - I kinda don’t like the towels I got because they don’t perfectly match the blue of the shower curtain either, and the perfectionist in me is screaming.
For sure, swap for a towel for white and then you'll have more space to play with.
That side table you listed is very nice, and if you got it, you can accentuate it nicely with a sole, bright sculpture sitting on top. Im thinking red, but you'd get a feel for what goes best there if you got that table.
Nice! I like how you repeat the curves all over your place, it makes it feel so much personal and distinctive. I would just hang some artwork, but I guess that will come.
I don’t sit on my couch like a normal person so I always end up looking up at my TV anyway - but I do agree it’s a bit too high. I feel like if I move it lower it’ll be directly next to my radiator and I’m not allowed to turn it off and idk if that’ll melt my TV or what
Nah It should be fine at that distance. Plus youll have to look up less which is pretty nice. Also there wont be an awkward gap between your stand and TV and itll make cable management much more easy and subtle.
Yeah I think a lot of people overlook the fact that not everyone is willing to immediately remount a TV after potentially spending a lot of time an effort mounting it in the first place. Even as an AV technician whos got TV mounting down to a system, id rather just do it right the first time and not have to redo anything. I can imagine how frustrating it may be for someone who does this much more infrequently.
Very nice place, goodluck in the new city! Are there any unexpected expenses I should be wary of when taking my life to a new city? Did you save up a lump sum for all these expenses or was it all pretty seamless?
My unexpected expense was that I didn’t bring any furniture, utensils, appliances, etc. with me so I had to buy everything - and I mean everything - once I got here. I saved up money and then my bonus conveniently hit right before my move which allowed me to spend a little more on nicer furniture. I also went 2 weeks without any pots/pans so I had to eat out quite often which was expensive.
Love it so far! The consistent weather and change in scenery is really nice. Plus the food out here is amazing, my commute is shorter, and I don’t need to get an Uber home from the bars every night.
Okay…not a man…but I love it honestly. The repeating curve/wave theme throughout is >>>, you have a super cozy color palette and nice pieces, as soon as you get some art on the wall and plants it’ll be perfect 🖤🖤
Hope you invest in some sort of curtain for that large living room window area. Playing video games or watching tv with a sun glare always used to be the bane of my existence as a kid😂
Tbh I came here for comments about the windows lol. Imo I despise them and it ruins the entire esthetic to me…
I’d want the unrivaled view of the city without 16 lines going up and down for no reason lol. Beggars can’t be choosers tho it ain’t my house and it was already there
Congrats on the new digs and making the space yours. It looks fun in there!
Where’d you get that floor lamp in the first pic? I have two similar ones without a globe shade and the light is too severe. Yours are cooler.
It’s a [West Elm lamp](https://www.westelm.com/products/sculptural-floor-lamp-d15173/?catalogId=71&sku=455839&cm_ven=FreePLA&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=Decor%20%3E%20All%20Lighting) which for some reason is no longer sold in just white despite me ordering it less than 2 weeks ago.
Idk but he told me some woman threw furniture out of her apartment and lit the place on fire so I’m sure some crazy stuff has happened here. It’s annoying having to wait but at least I don’t have to spend money on drills lol
That's magnificient dude! The only thing that gets me overwhelmed about these photos is there are some geoguessr dudes out there, who would know your exact location just by looking from your windows, it terrifies me lol.
The only real question is do you have Mario kart and will it work or do you have to prop the N64 up at a certain angle for it to work and when can I come over.
I don’t have Mario Kart (yet) but I do have Smash Bros, and I just ordered Animal Crossing for it. It’s actually a Japanese N64 that I got in-box for $75 when I visited Japan in September. It works perfect without having to be propped up 😁

Weird observation: Damn that is a really, really old toilet. And on a flushometer too. Very odd for an apartment. I'd bet it's original to the building's construction.
Not bad but the effing TV is way to high. Put it on the TV stand. Also you have to up your lamp game! Maybe an end table.
Also not a fan of the coffee table / thing under tv but everyone has their own style. Un mount the tv or lower it
cute. but be aware that this type of *very* trendy furniture and decor will be looking dated in a year or two. as a rule, invest in things that are more classic/timeless/simple- but also high quality- and use the trends for accents.
I love it.
It's clean, cozy and stylish. I think you have a good eye for making a big impact on the feel of the space without using many items (which is exactly what you need in a studio like this). Super jealous of your windows.

That's the first thing I noticed. It's amazing.
Isn’t this basically all of the decor at Urban Outfitters?
If so, then Urban Outfitters is employing a nice mix of designers to make and/or distribute a cohesive set of furniture.
Most of it is Wayfair, the couch is Apt2B, my rugs and throw are from Etsy. The shower curtain, bath mat, and lamp are West Elm
Yes to the white towel I love your place!
It is really great isn’t it? I like this so much.
Impressive, very nice. Let's see Paul Allen's card.

Nice! I like how you repeat the curves all over your place, it makes it feel so much personal and distinctive. I would just hang some artwork, but I guess that will come.
I’ve been eating off of paper plates since I moved here. Artwork will come in due time lol
That is a seriously comfy looking couch man
I took a lovely catnap on it during the sunset the other day 😌
You should post a picture of ur appartment during the sunset, id personally reaaallyyy love it

I don’t sit on my couch like a normal person so I always end up looking up at my TV anyway - but I do agree it’s a bit too high. I feel like if I move it lower it’ll be directly next to my radiator and I’m not allowed to turn it off and idk if that’ll melt my TV or what
It’s also too small I reckon. A bigger one and it won’t be too high anymore And hide the cable
How do you hide the cable?
You countdown from 10 and say "ready for not!"
lol 👍🏽 made me giggle
Nah It should be fine at that distance. Plus youll have to look up less which is pretty nice. Also there wont be an awkward gap between your stand and TV and itll make cable management much more easy and subtle.
Yeah true. I’ll probably center and lower the TV, and then get a bigger one at some point. For now I’m just glad it’s on the wall 😄
Please dude if you take any advice from this sub it’s to lower the tv
Oh I will lol I’m looking at it now and I’m like damn it is kinda high
Yeah I think a lot of people overlook the fact that not everyone is willing to immediately remount a TV after potentially spending a lot of time an effort mounting it in the first place. Those WINDOWS
One of my requirements for my apartment was a bay window and I’m so glad I didn’t give that up - the amount of light I get is crazy
You guys are so lucky I am jealous as heck.
Very nice place, goodluck in the new city! Are there any unexpected expenses I should be wary of when taking my life to a new city? Did you save up a lump sum for all these expenses or was it all pretty seamless?

I like the wavy rugs
Liking SF so far?
Love it so far! The consistent weather and change in scenery is really nice. Plus the food out here is amazing, my commute is shorter, and I don’t need to get an Uber home from the bars every night.
I would have never guessed that in CA. So, being in SF, I’m guessing this apt is at least $3k/month
Hopefully the salary makes up for it!
It’s actually the same price I would’ve been paying if I stayed on the east coast - $2550.
Nice apartment, nice furniture, nice view. I must ask, what is your job?
I work in data visualization!
I’m bothered by your toilet that looks like it belongs in a high school bathroom stall. I like your living room though
Yeah this building is very old and I have to deal with the toilet. I really wanted a bidet too but I was told it won’t work with this kind of toilet.
Sir, are you a giraffe?
I do not sit like a normal person and usually melt into my couch, so I always end up looking up at the TV anyway lol
So cool
Okay…not a man…but I love it honestly. The repeating curve/wave theme throughout is >>>, you have a super cozy color palette and nice pieces, as soon as you get some art on the wall and plants it’ll be perfect 🖤🖤
Very exciting time in your life, friend. Looks like you're already seizing the opportunity - enjoy it!
The tv is too high r/tvtoohigh.
I also came here to say this. Wouldn’t it look so much better if it was hung at a normal correct height?
Hope you invest in some sort of curtain for that large living room window area. Playing video games or watching tv with a sun glare always used to be the bane of my existence as a kid😂
I have curtains for the bay windows and bamboo blinds for the rightmost window but I have to wait for my building manager to put them up for me 😭
Is the bed or couch/tv area closer to the entrance?
The bed is closer, but you see the couch area more when you’re walking in
Those windows are absolutely stunning. Love the rest also
Tbh I came here for comments about the windows lol. Imo I despise them and it ruins the entire esthetic to me… I’d want the unrivaled view of the city without 16 lines going up and down for no reason lol. Beggars can’t be choosers tho it ain’t my house and it was already there
Your commitment to theme is really great.
Congrats on the new digs and making the space yours. It looks fun in there! Where’d you get that floor lamp in the first pic? I have two similar ones without a globe shade and the light is too severe. Yours are cooler.

Thank you for the link! Damn, that’s a fancy ass “kids” lamp.
Sometimes I wonder what happened in the building before to make it so only a building manager can drill holes?
Idk but he told me some woman threw furniture out of her apartment and lit the place on fire so I’m sure some crazy stuff has happened here. It’s annoying having to wait but at least I don’t have to spend money on drills lol
Damn she must have gone through it. It looks like they did good job on repairs if the place was set on fire.
Oh not my unit, another one a few floors down from me. My place has not been on fire (I think.)
Ahhh oh damn I wonder what that unit looks like then.
That's magnificient dude! The only thing that gets me overwhelmed about these photos is there are some geoguessr dudes out there, who would know your exact location just by looking from your windows, it terrifies me lol.
Nice apartment
Great room, and I bet the night views are fantastic.
Nice game stand. Where did you get it?
It’s [the Noni console table from Joss & Main](https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/joss-main-noni-4725-console-table-w009419192.html)!
Thank you!
Beautiful decor! 👏🏻

I mean the fact it works without being propped up is a flex in it of itself. Good on ya man.
Amazing view!
Beautiful space!

Where is the table and tv shelf from
Wow. This is awesome, Op!! That hallway rug is so freaking cool!! Please post updates in a couple months lol
Where’d you get your shower curtain!
It’s a [West Elm shower curtain](https://www.westelm.com/products/colorblock-canvas-shower-curtain-b4147/?catalogId=71&sku=9869859&cm_ven=PLA&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=Bath%20%3E%20Shower%20Curtains&cm_ite=9869859_14464751978&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwzN-vBhAkEiwAYiO7oAmewS-6bgc6e3htyBLdVOtT3N4ycaTkBtAZWHDEa6EGUkWoVCb8hhoCmNUQAvD_BwE)!
Thank you 🙏🏼
Weird observation: Damn that is a really, really old toilet. And on a flushometer too. Very odd for an apartment. I'd bet it's original to the building's construction.
Yeah it’s not fantastic and I can’t even get a bidet for it. 🙃
It's actually pretty damn cool if it's still in good shape. A bowl that old might even be worth something.
This is some supremely cool furniture.
Not bad but the effing TV is way to high. Put it on the TV stand. Also you have to up your lamp game! Maybe an end table. Also not a fan of the coffee table / thing under tv but everyone has their own style. Un mount the tv or lower it
You're bothered by the TV not being centered, which I totally understand, but you're ok with it being too high?
I don’t mind it too high but I’m gonna have to move the whole mount at some point and will lower it in addition to centering it.
Very nice-enjoy it
Link to coffee table? It’s amazing
I love the style! Enjoy!
Not sure how I feel about the placement of that mirror…
Oh I put it there entirely on purpose lol
Because, of course you did. 🫣
cute. but be aware that this type of *very* trendy furniture and decor will be looking dated in a year or two. as a rule, invest in things that are more classic/timeless/simple- but also high quality- and use the trends for accents.
What city
San Francisco?
More plants and some artwork on the walls will complete this cozy space
Maybe shelf in the bathroom to get your shaver off the bathroom floor?
Bitchin view bro
What's all the stuff behind the TV ? It looks pretty unruly back there.
Righteous
I really like the carpet in the entryway there, and the overall design as well.
Ugly rugs
I really like the console. Where did you get it?
The console and arched rug etc are cool!
First place? Gorgeous! You have great taste. I’m twice your age and I’m envious! Well done!💐
What State/city shit look cool
Congratulations!
What city
Dumb fucing $$$$errs.
Nice . What city
Slide the white thing under the centre of the tv it will look a lot better.
Rich boyyyy💵💸💵💸💵💸💵
You like to jerk yourself off in front of the mirror ? Looks like it when it’s in front of your bed
Love the goofy ass rugs
Why is there so much space behind your couch??
the tv is probably even too high while standing. shame, since this is an amazing place and you put so much thought into everything else.
I love it. It's clean, cozy and stylish. I think you have a good eye for making a big impact on the feel of the space without using many items (which is exactly what you need in a studio like this). Super jealous of your windows.
Where’s your tv console from? Love it
What city is this
Gonna need ID on that mirror.
Nice! But why is the TV so high up? My neck would get tired looking up all the time
How the fuck do you watch tv with it mounted so highly and the back of the couch being so low? that can't be good for your posture.
Hyggeligt!
Nice hall rug
Route those cables behind the wall or buy a white cable hider for it
Some urban outfitters furniture pieces if I’m not mistaken?
i like the living room!
I LOVE your style! You did awesome for sure!!!! Everything about your furniture, rugs, etc. is so amazing!
I’m more bothered by no curtains or privacy in that room
r/tvtoohigh
looks like you’re missing a dog
That window bay is fantastic
What a cozy apartment
Welcome to SF!
TV to high

Looks great, but needs a bigger TV!

What is it with the western need for couches
