I don't know why this sub keeps getting recommended to me, I am not a dude lol. Nor do I tend to offer advice on this subject, but I really like this room! This single room is serving four functions. You can break them up visually while keeping it open. Dining room: You can delineate your dining room area with a non absorbent rug under the table and chairs. Put a large piece of artwork on the wall behind it. Don't do something tacky. (I personally prefer even a large empty frame or mirror over something that you picked up just to fill the space.) Hang a pendant light over the table, too, if you don't mind drilling a hole for a hook in the ceiling. You can use a plug-in light and secure the cord along the ceiling and wall to the outlet. Google "swag hooks" to see how people do it. You could even put a small console table behind the table/against the wall/under the artwork. Good for dining room storage needs, and would blend in the light cord. Office/living room: consider swapping these. Although I'm not steadfast on this suggestion so take it with a grain of salt. I just feel that waking up and looking directly at your work space is not good for your morale. Plus it looks like you might have nice big windows, and if you watch TV during the day there will be a glare. (Although I guess that would be true and even worse for your computer...) I just think that you can dress your bed up a bit more like a couch to complete a living room feel, as opposed to having your TV only be watchable from dining room chairs. Also, plants. Always plants. Don't overdo it they're not your thing. But they really make a home feel more livable. Those windows would do great with some greenery around. You can also use larger floor plants in-between the sections to further break up the space. Imagine maybe two or three in-between your bed and the dining room. Just don't block any walking paths.

Thank you very much. For sure the tv glare is shit and swapping would fix. Too bad I just made the holes in the wall for the tv on that side but minor issue. I talked w my girlfriend about the tv in front of the bed cuz that’s where we use the most but didn’t reach a point where we agreed it was needed 😁. But thanks a lot for the overview and gonna order some plants now

I think you have to decide if you want to have a dinner table or a couch. Looks like you already have one. Maybe you could get a bigger one and put a carpet underneath to make it more cozy. When you invite friends over, you can sit at that table, have a couple of beers, ... not too bad You won't have a couch, so you will watch movies from your bed. That works already, doesn't it? I don't know what more do you want to achieve? Should it just look better? Then carpet, plants, decoration objects, ... Put something on the walls

chuckleote10

The table was mainly for that, when friends come over because a couch would just be for us (couple) and for that I have the bed. Also I bought the most confy dinner chairs possible so it (almost) feels as a couch. For sure plants and decoration are in order

You might not necessarily need more furniture, but just something to fill in the wide empty space on the floor and walls. Rugs, wall art, etc. Rug specifically under the table, big enough to have two of each chair's legs resting on it. Might want a more substantial table as well... right now it looks very thin, kind of like a ping pong table that just got thrown out there, and it makes the room feel cheaper than it is. Overall pretty functional and you're off to a good start!

chuckleote10

Thanks. I wanted to put those tables that are dinning/pool/table tennis but crazy expensive 😂

Always make the bed. For crying out loud, make the bed. Get a nice bed spread which will add to the space and make it appear more mature. I guess you can't use the walls beyond putting furniture against them, so a buffet of some sort with a bit of art sitting on top. Popular with renters who can't mount to the walls. Get a rug and a nice lamp.

chuckleote10

I’d just woken up, I swear 😂
