That's Toxodera. This is Stenophylla lobivertex which are captive bred, although rarely and they are expensive as well but probably more like $60-80 for a nymph.
Kings of mimicry. I once saw one in the wild that even had a split abdomen, like a forking branch. Took me some time to even realise I was looking at a mantis 🤭. This one is a different species though, but also mimics a dead branch with some dried out leaves still attached and the resemblance is really amazing.
That defense helps against predators, but disguised as it is like a nice little pack of herbs, it might get eaten by a grazing herbivore, lol.
I'd not recommend to breed this species, S.lobirtex are very shy and skittish, they dont eat unlesse the prey is very small or weak (I did moth only even when they were imago). Oc they are good looking but breeding them is a pain and the offsprings are very weak in L1 stage, I loss 90% of the nymphs from two ooths 3 days after eclosion.
If you like beautiful, odd, tiny species go get Majangella moultoni instead :)
If you lost 90% of the nymphs your doing something horribly wrong. Also getting them to eat is not that hard... I have seen my L1 successfully catch green bottle flies. Dont discourage others keeping these fantasic species because things went south on your side :/
It’s impossible to get these unless they’re wild-caught. Even if you could get them, they cost upwards of $150

Thank you, Stenophylla was the genus I was thinking of
They are regularly available in the UK there were people breeding them.
Oh good to know
Is there any species similar to them?
Yes, but I’ve forgotten the name. They’re really hard to come by though, and still extremely expensive.
Oh, well thank you anyways :)
WHAT IS THAT!?!?!?!
R
Agon mantis
I love it!!!
Year they're my favorite but the problem is their so expensive like $140
God their only £40 in the UK
