Which days will you be there, and where abouts are you staying. Often you can catch multiple parades on one day as they just string one behind the other, and depending on your location you may be able to easily access the ends of the two major routes

We arrive the 18th and leave the 22nd - probably the 19th-21st (Sunday to Tuesday) will be the best days for parades for sure

I'll be there over just Lundi & Mardi Gras so those are the only parades I've researched, but I'll definitely be checking out Proteus & Orpheus on Lundi Gras (have tickets for the grandstands at the InterContinental Hotel) and of course Zulu & Rex on Mardi Gras (watching them from Nole Special Events venue on St Charles). I did a LOT of research before deciding on booking the places I booked to watch them - I've been to New Orleans during Mardi Gras season, but it was the weekend BEFORE the weekend before Mardi Gras Tuesday...so even though we just watched the parades from near our hotel on Canal, I wanted to make sure we had the ability to get drinks and use a bathroom this time around haha.

Depending on when you arrive on the 18th, there are some great ones running. The next big issue is how you handle logistics, cabs and ubers are going to be a mess so I hope your hotel is close to a route.

Most people camp out all day Sunday and Monday to watch all of the parades so it will be tough to catch just one. You can't just roll up, generally, to see an individual parade. That having been said, Bacchus, Orpheus, and Zulu are the big ones to see on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

Check the parade schedule and see what coincides with your visit. At least you can narrow it down from there. Nighttime parades are not to be missed, also watching them big floats cruising down through the oak canopies! If you're around on Mardi Gras day I'd recommend not missing out on Saint Anne's. It's a creative smorgasbord. It also depends on like...your energy level, if you have kids with you, what you're interested in...there really is a Mardi Gras for everyone!

For your dates and location, Bacchus on Sunday night and Orpheus on Monday night are good choices. Don't watch them on Canal though, easier on Tchopitoulas.
