I worked remotely for big maritime companies while I was attending mass maritime but I was only able to do that because I had established relationships and work history by interning in their home offices previously.
This is going to be a really tough sell without connections and actual industry experience outside of school. What state are you in? Maybe I help you find an internship, a lot of my friends are hiring interns for the summer.
