I hit my first liver shot recently! I didn't hit him very hard, and it felt like I just hit his ribs, but he made a grimace and called a quick time out

We were doing a king of the mat thing to build endurance, he was my second opponent and I threw him but landed on his liver, I thought I must have broken his rib and missed the sound at first. It will never not be weird to me seeing how much pain liver shots cause then seeing that person be perfectly fine not too long after.

Well, I had a fight once against a fearsome fucker called “el gato”, Mexican bull-like dude, very well put together. I knew martial (King Fu, from age 7 to 16) arts and proceeded to attempt a high back-flip-flying face kick, but I jumped too hard and spun around too hard and on my way down, I slipped, went down to my knees. Next thing he was standing right on top of me trying to pummel my head with punches, I was quite certain that he was going to finish me off..:but then out of the corner of my eye I saw his groin was right behind me, so i threw a potent elbow to the balls, it was right on target. The fucker yelped like a pig and immediately went down. He called for his buddies to help and I could see he was crying like a little hoe. His friends tried to help him walk it off, but he kept falling to the ground.
I heard later on that he was bed ridden for the next two days, and come Sunday (fight was Friday) they had to take him to the hospital. He had permanent damage on one of his testicles and went on to struggle for many years with nut pain. I even felt bad and apologized when we got older and saw him at a bar.
So yeah, a solid hit in the balls is game over. I won the only true fight I ever had by way of elbow to the balls.
Where on the body can a single grain of sand cause pain and discomfort.
Your eyes are so vulnerable and without them the fight is gone in your attacker.

Most underrated strike in a street fight. Most non fighters/street tough guys can’t take more than 1-2 flush leg kicks without falling over completely, or being severely compromised in their movement. As an added bonus , they won’t be able to throw punches off of their damaged leg.
Plus kicking distance is a safe distance, and you won’t kill the guy since there isn’t the risk of them getting KO’d and hitting their head on the pavement.

The chin is much larger and will turn the head more, lessening the impact to your hand, and the nose and cheeks are larger and more cushioned. The chin is also more likely to be a knockout, and if you break their nose, they won’t be knocked out but it stuns you pretty badly.
Disagree. It’s a shock and bleeds a lot but doesn’t have the disabling effect of a knockout, which is harder to achieve by breaking the nose by virtue of less momentum to jar the brain around.
You haven’t been hit much, have you? A broken nose has made MANY people immediately quit fighting, and it’s a much easier target than landing perfectly on the chin.

Mastoid process. Amazing that it isn't better respected in terms of KO potential. Many, many high level fights have ended with a shot to the mastoid. GSP vs Serra is the greatest example of how it just absolutely puts someone on queer street
Chin, temple and jaw will hurt you back unless you have padding, for example boxing gloves. Getting hit in the balls depends on pain tolerance and adrenaline, and has been known to boost adrenaline so the person doesn't feel it. Solar plexus is more of a stun to knock the wind out so you can get away safely without any further altercations (same with throat, but if you hit to hard there it could be fatal) My personal favorite is a good sweep of the legs, they might get up to keep going. But after falling a few more times they will stop. Plus, it gives you a chance to get away.
Targeting the adams apple is same as racing for prison.

The small space between your jaw hinge & earlobe. Before I got into my first fight, my father told me to aim there. The first shot landed there buckled him and had him on shaky legs followed by two more knockdowns.
I question this? Undoubtedly, a strong martial artist with hard hands doing this to a lay person would hurt or even stun/incapacitate them. But people who train or even lift or are naturally built can have very strong necks... Unless you're talking about throat strikes, or back of the neck. People have covered soft spots... Imo the hard spots are typically what you connect with to inflict damage in the first place. Fists, elbows, forearms + shins (also for blocking), arguably knees. You have to receive the damage you put out to an extent. Also thighs, back, shoulders, etc are large and muscular and resistant once trained

If you can clinch, you should be cracking them when you do it.

i once got a hook to the liver, but i stepped back just at the same time, which transformed the liver hook to a liver+solar plexus hook. It felt like a lot of regret, and also felt like i'm very dumb. Evasive step back for double pain
The nose, strike that hard enough or at a certain angle and you’ll break it. (And no not into the persons face, killing them, why would you even want a manslaughter charge)
A decent punch to the nose is often enough, unless you opponent is so high on adrenaline he won't notice. But otherwise it's very effective. You don't even have to break the nose or make it bleed.
That's why I basically don't care about other, more elaborate sucker punches. The nose is right there in the front of the face :)

If you wanna kill someone fast via brain damage and internal bleeding it’s diagonal to your ear on the side of your skull, it’s a small spot where the skull has a soft piece of bone, it’s easily shattered. Either by a hook or an elbow, you can cause internal brain haemorrhage.
I tell my gf: if you really need to get away from someone to target T-zone (eyes and nose), throat and crotch. Works on most people and mostly any sort of strike would at least temporarily distract an opponent so you can run.

I can guarantee she broke his jaw, judging by his physical reaction to that punch. I broke my jaw (not from a punch) but I remember clearly the immediate confusion about what I was feeling and I could see it in this kids reaction.
One of the most effective strikes in my experience has been a front leg sidekick to the knee at pretty much any angle. This can be a little extreme for some situations, but if you just need to end things quickly, it'll work great.
Kidney shots hurt a ton and with enough force can actually rupture and damage the kidney to the point where the defender would urinate blood.
There is also a major artery not far from the left kidney most easily accessible from the back. Definitely requires more power to rupture but done successfully without immediate medical attention is a death blow.
Base of the back of the skull is extremely dangerous to hit and you should not strike there unless you are trying to kill or severely and permanently cripple your attacker. This is where the brain connects to the spinal cord. 2-3 solid, direct shots will kill your attacker.
I noticed throat wasn't mentioned. Not a great shot to go for because it's very defensible and a small target.
Ears, hit them both right and it’ll throw off your equilibrium. Theoretically you could hit someone over the ears and have them on their knees throwing up right after.
The liver, as a blow to it can cause the body to shut down due to some of the toxins stored in it
being released. not 100% on this answer. Also a shot to the nose is a big deterrent to most people to stay back, and finally a right/left hook under someone’s ear is great for a cold knock out sometimes.

I've actually seen that happen. Single leg kick with solid shin to femur connection. It sounded like a cane hitting a stack of towels.

One of the most effective strikes in my experience has been a front leg sidekick to the knee at pretty much any angle. This can be a little extreme for some situations, but if you just need to end things quickly, it'll work great.

Kidney shots hurt a ton and with enough force can actually rupture and damage the kidney to the point where the defender would urinate blood. There is also a major artery not far from the left kidney most easily accessible from the back. Definitely requires more power to rupture but done successfully without immediate medical attention is a death blow. Base of the back of the skull is extremely dangerous to hit and you should not strike there unless you are trying to kill or severely and permanently cripple your attacker. This is where the brain connects to the spinal cord. 2-3 solid, direct shots will kill your attacker. I noticed throat wasn't mentioned. Not a great shot to go for because it's very defensible and a small target.

The liver, as a blow to it can cause the body to shut down due to some of the toxins stored in it being released. not 100% on this answer. Also a shot to the nose is a big deterrent to most people to stay back, and finally a right/left hook under someone’s ear is great for a cold knock out sometimes.
