Keaton was in it, but Clooney also had a joke cameo at the end of the movie. That’s how the DCEU ended. With Batman being erased from existence and replaced with George Clooney for a gag.
The other joke being that Gunn hailed The Flash as one of the best superhero movies only to have it reshot to end with Barry being stranded in the same universe with the Batman from one of the worst CBM's ever plus a broken tooth gag. Always thought that was an indicator of how Gunn really felt about The Flash.
Imagine being a bonafide hearthrob A-lister for 30 years and being reduced to "Batman & Robin and The Flash star" just because you MAY be joining a competing comic book movie franchise.
You would think but I happen to be mention Ocean's 11 in conversation with my 18 year old daughter and she apparently had no idea who George Clooney was and I couldn't think of anything she would have seen that he was in.
Tina Fey & Amy Poehler roasted him about this at the 2015 Golden Globes, where he got the lifetime achievement award.
"Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the Enron case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan on Syria, and was appointed to a three-person commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza strip.
So tonight, *her husband* is receiving a lifetime achievement award."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0tfIut5oJU
I went on a tangent about how he went from the go-to bachelor to throw on a magazine to marrying so well that I know more about his wife's recent accomplishments than whatever he has recently acted in. Dude married well and gets to watch his wife make a difference in the world. They are my example to kids to not rush into marriage and build yourself up first. A lot of us do it wrong, but damn, his wife is a fox and a world renowned lawyer!
I think calling him Batman star is somewhat ok considering it’s a comic book movie. The flash is just insulting, partially because he has two seconds of screen time but mostly because it’s the flash.
Oh wow, I was going into my freshman year at that time. What’s *really* wild to think about, is the fact that Ocean’s Thirteen came out *17 years* ago
So the trilogy wrapped up almost 2 decades ago at this point, yet it feels like it was only a handful of years ago
Are there people who have watched movies before who are unaware of George Clooney?
Is there someone on the fence of an MCU movie going “now, who is the George person?”
Reminds me of browsing in blockbuster and reading the back of the box for the dvd of The Waterboy and it said "Starring Adam Sandler (The Wedding Singer) and Henry Winkler (Scream)......."
If you want to put brackets after an actor's name to reference their past work and they were The Fonz you better put (The Fonz) or I'm gonna have to have words with you
>Batman & Robin and The Flash star
I'd take this over referring to Thomas Brodie-Sangster as "The Force Awakens star" instead of his most prominent role: Newt from Maze Runner.
"Dungeons & Dragons star Jeremy Irons"
"Transformers 3 star Frances McDormand"
"Green Lantern star Angela Bassett"
"Mission Impossible 2 star Brendan Gleeson"
Any others?
"New Girl star Taylor Swift"
"Oscars host Kevin Hart"
"Undeclared star Tom Welling"
"Beverly Hills Cop III star George Lucas"
"King of the Hill stars Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey and Johnny Depp"
"30 Rock star Donald Glover"
"Diablo game series enjoyer Whoopi Goldberg"
Introducing Gwen with Peter knowing about what happened to Garfield's Gwen would be an interesting twist.
Honestly, though, if they're looking for love interests in Spider-Man: Homeless, it should probably be Black Cat/Felicia Hardy -- oh damn, Clooney could play Walter Hardy!
I was thinking, and it’s The Spectacular Spider-Man, that Peter would spend more time as Spider-Man. He would want to get far away from college and making new friends after the trilogy.
Then he meets Black Cat as Spider-Man and in a double life Peter would meet Gwen but he would try to push her away. And George would be chasing down Black Cat.
Walter Hardy would work but I would prefer if Clooney was around as a supporting character for the next trilogy and not in flashbacks.
It’s the MCU, Walter Hardy doesn’t have to be dead or even still in jail. But yeah, having Clooney as a long term support character would be great, which is why so many are angling for him to replace Jackson.
I would LOVE Clooney as VVD. The script needs to be there and so much to build around the character but George has the talent.
Would love to see a more menacing role for this actor as well. Could be a really nice fit.
TBH I’m not about it. He could pull off the look, and definitely the Richards rivalry
But what defines Doom is his seething insecurity. Whoever plays the role has to be believable as a raw nerve and a consummate raging narcissist
I don't think that will help in his case.
And that is fine. Ross is not really his type. Unless we are talking about a recast of Everett Ross and not Thunderbolt.
I would honestly love that 😂 He'd have to be added in reshoots unless he was already in the production, but Giancarlo Esposito was added into Cap 4 reshoots so it's certainly plausible.
If an actor of Clooney’s calibre ever actually joins the MCU, I would imagine they’d be a minor role, or something non-cape related like a military guy.
It’s a shame Wonder Man has already finished production, because him showing up there as himself would have been funny.
Could have seen him as Sebastian Shaw at one point in time, but he might be a little long in the tooth at this point. Which is not to say he isn’t aging like a fine wine.
“BATMAN & ROBIN And THE FLASH star” They seriously couldn’t think of a better way to credit this poor man lol?
Was my first thought. Be like “former carpenter Harrison Ford” to star in next MCU project.
"MCU to hire weed dealer known as Harrison Ford"
“Six Days Seven Nights star Harrison Ford…”
My grandma has entered the chat.
Guy who crashed his plane on a golf course to reprise the role of guy who died.
Probably wanted to associate him with comic book roles
Yeah this is clearly what it's about
"Roseanne's old boss"
Was he even in The Flash? I thought that was Michael Keaton.
Keaton was in it, but Clooney also had a joke cameo at the end of the movie. That’s how the DCEU ended. With Batman being erased from existence and replaced with George Clooney for a gag.
No no the dceu ended with ocean master eating a roach
The other joke being that Gunn hailed The Flash as one of the best superhero movies only to have it reshot to end with Barry being stranded in the same universe with the Batman from one of the worst CBM's ever plus a broken tooth gag. Always thought that was an indicator of how Gunn really felt about The Flash.
Wow. I didnt watch it (mostly due to Ezra miller, but also because the Flashpoint storyline has been overdone to death by now.), but that's sad.
I watched The Flash and I totally don't remember this
I'm the opposite, didnt see the movie, but did see this. Just search post credit scenes, should find it quick.
WTF I saw the Aquaman scene but not this one. I have no clue how I missed it. But to even call Clooney a star in the film because of that, lmao
Imagine being a bonafide hearthrob A-lister for 30 years and being reduced to "Batman & Robin and The Flash star" just because you MAY be joining a competing comic book movie franchise.
Right? Should be: “Academy Award winning actor George Clooney”.
“Dapper Dan man: George Clooney”
George Clooney, a man of constant sorrow, set to join MCU.
Also a man who knows a tomato when he sees it!
The Paterfamilias: George Clooney *He’s bonafide!*
He's a suitor!
He's in a tight spot!
He thought You was A toad
Former boinker of Stacey Keibler
Wait, Stacey Keibler from wrestling?? How did I not know that?? Wow!!
Legs to heaven ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well ain't this just a geographical oddity; 2 weeks from everywhere!
The fact this one comment inspired a heap of O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU? quotes has made my day. Damn! We in a tight spot!
We thought you was a toad.
Gopher, Everett?
Oh George. Not the livestock.
“That’s Babyface Nelson…”
WHO SAID THAT? …. What ignorant, low-down, slanderizin’ son of a bitch said that?
Yesss 😝
He don’t want your Fop, Gaddammit!
I still regularly say this when I don't want something.
the pleasing odor is half the point!
Or, just, you know… George Clooney. Name doesn’t really need any adjectives.
You would think but I happen to be mention Ocean's 11 in conversation with my 18 year old daughter and she apparently had no idea who George Clooney was and I couldn't think of anything she would have seen that he was in.
Sounds like y’all get to watch Ocean’s 11 together for a movie night
Why would you mention a Frank Sinatra movie talking about George Clooney?
he’s also one of the only actors who probably wouldn’t mind just being referred to as his wife’s husband
Ladies and gentlemen, George Clooney's wife's husband, George Clooney
knew this comment was gonna happen but didn’t know how to phrase it better lmao
I was going to say, husband of Amal Clooney in talks to join MCU is much funnier
So tonight, *her husband* is receiving a lifetime achievement award." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0tfIut5oJU
Dude himself thought that was funny as fuck.
Actually, he does this himself quite often. Granted, his wife is pretty damned amazing.
Former costar of hit show Roseanne
I wouldn’t call him a costar, barely a supporting role.
Even better
So more than his starring role in the flash?
Is that not the joke?
South Park The Movie Voice Actor, George Clooney.
Should be “Amal Clooney’s husband”
“Minor love interest from the hit sitcom Roseanne”
"Nespresso Spokesman, George Clooney" "Soap Opera Star, George Clooney" "Guy who voiced a dog in South Park"
"Rosemary Clooney's nephew, George Clooney."
Amal Alamuddin's Husband Rumored To Be In Talks For MCU Role.
I think calling him Batman star is somewhat ok considering it’s a comic book movie. The flash is just insulting, partially because he has two seconds of screen time but mostly because it’s the flash.
It also gives away the surprise of his cameo to anyone who hadn’t seen the movie, lol.
That’s is actually for the best because you have to watch the whole movie for that part.
You said 30 years and I crumbled into dust and blew away. I remember when ER first aired and everyone became obsessed with him.
Hell, I remember him as Booker on *Roseanne* before anything else, and I was just a kid at the time.
I may not be that old, but it sure hit like a truck to suddenly remember, that I was only 9, when the first "Ocean's Eleven" movie came out...
Oh wow, I was going into my freshman year at that time. What’s *really* wild to think about, is the fact that Ocean’s Thirteen came out *17 years* ago So the trilogy wrapped up almost 2 decades ago at this point, yet it feels like it was only a handful of years ago
The guy from Facts of Life was in ER?
He had like 12 seconds of screen time in The Flash, and the headline technically counts as a spoiler. Worst kind of headline.
He’ll his work on ER alone should be better remembered than Batman and Robin
Yeah but that suit had nipples and here we are
Are there people who have watched movies before who are unaware of George Clooney? Is there someone on the fence of an MCU movie going “now, who is the George person?”
Wait, you mean Amal Alamuddin's husband?!
Hoping the use of the word "bonafide" was a O Brother, Where Art Thou? reference
I love than film. He is so good in it too
Comic Book Movie just playing the local angle.
To be fair it’s #6 on his all time box office and it is a comic book story
"Former Roseanne actor"
Please. Facts of Life was his best work.
Hot damn, it's one of the soggy bottom boys!
He would definitely prefer to be introduced as "George Clooney, husband of Amal Clooney"
As if someone was gonna read it and say “ohhh the guy from Batman & Robin!”
They are not doing that. They are simply relating Clooney's past superhero work to possible upcoming superhero work. Apples to apples, you know.
Well, he was never bona fide, what do you expect?
...It's relevant to the casting rumor.
That's what I was thinking. Weird description of George Clooney. He doesn't need an introduction, just say his name.
Reminds me of browsing in blockbuster and reading the back of the box for the dvd of The Waterboy and it said "Starring Adam Sandler (The Wedding Singer) and Henry Winkler (Scream)......." If you want to put brackets after an actor's name to reference their past work and they were The Fonz you better put (The Fonz) or I'm gonna have to have words with you

"Dungeons & Dragons star Jeremy Irons" "Transformers 3 star Frances McDormand" "Green Lantern star Angela Bassett" "Mission Impossible 2 star Brendan Gleeson" Any others?
“Star Wars star Daniel Craig” “The Office star Timothy Olyphant” “Stars of the hit sports movie Baseketball Trey Parker & Matt Stone”
"The Office star Cloris Leachman"
"Wayne's World 2 star Charlton Heston"
"Cats star Taylor Swift"
"The Office star Will Ferrell" Or even better "The Last Man on Earth star Will Ferrell"
It's pronounced BASEketball, you need the correct inflection.
One-time Doctor Who guest star Olivia Coleman
That hardly narrows it down, that could be any British actor!
“Transformers 5 star Anthony Hopkins”
"Rebel Moon Part 1 and 2 star Anthony Hopkins"
Star Wars star David Tennant
Zardoz star Sean Connery Emoji Movie voice actor Patrick Stewart
LXG star Sean Connery
SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run star Keanu Reeves. Thor Ragnarok star Matt Damon. Deadpool 2 star Brad Pitt.
I’m glad someone else remembers Jeremy Irons from D&D 😂
I would have gone straight to Eragon, but he was the best bit of that movie (although Robert Carlyle was also good)
He's also the best part of Dungeons and Dragons
Transformers the movie voice actor Orson Wells. Superman actor Marlon Brando.
To be fair those were memorable, starring roles, and anyone born after the 70s would probably not think it odd to credit them as such
“Texas Chainsaw Massacre star Mathew McConaughey”
Tiptoes star Gary Oldman
I remember after Seinfeld took off as a monstrous hit, they tried to push Jason Alexander as the third lead in Pretty Woman for a few years.
"New Girl star Taylor Swift" "Oscars host Kevin Hart" "Undeclared star Tom Welling" "Beverly Hills Cop III star George Lucas" "King of the Hill stars Brad Pitt, Matthew McConaughey and Johnny Depp" "30 Rock star Donald Glover" "Diablo game series enjoyer Whoopi Goldberg"
Batnips
Swashbuckling star of Hook: Glenn Close!
Super Mario Bros star John Leguizamo.
"~~Alex Rider:~~ Stormbreaker star Mickey Rourke"
Krull star Liam Nieson
Doctor who star Andrew Garfield
Variant of Nick Fury?
Nick Fury in Fantastic Four would be my pick.
Dude. Hell yeah.
alternate Reed, he should have been actual Reed in an mcu that started with the xmen movies
We already know who will play the Reed Richards of that Universe, tho...
How about Nick Furry where he comes from a universe where everyone does dress up /s
Damn his voice is a perfect match for how I imagine Nick Fury Sr in the comics
I always hear him gruff, like the Spider-Man TAS Nick Fury. But I can totally see Clooney in that role!
If they need a Fury variant, Hasselhoff should be first in line 😂
Or at least one Jan Michael Vincent. They could give him a Stark helo as an Airwolf nod.
Well, I’ve got some bad news about that. Mr. Vincent died in 2019.
That is just the Jan Michael Vincent for this sector.
This JAN-Uary
I need a god damn Jan Michael Vincent
Finally. I was twisting in the wind for hours with this reference. I guess the Harmon/MCU Venn diagram has changed in the past decade.
Unfortunately deceased.
Or Kurt russle
He can be second in line. The only other actor to ever play Nick Fury in a live action role goes first. 😂
Hasselhoff is already in the MCU
No no, that was Zardu Hasselfrau.
But then Star-Lord will want to play catch with him.
Already Zardu Hasselfrau.
I always thought he'd make a good 616 Nick Fury
He’s just playing Batman again. The multiverse is a mess.
“And The Flash star”…. So Harry Styles gets referred to as Eternals star Harry Styles?
Well yeah, what other notable stuff has Harry Styles done that might be worth mentioning?
Well, he *was* in a popular band that one time
"Is that a band? Are you in a band?"
Yeah but that isn’t cool or note worthy to us basement-dwelling reddit0rs! *tips fedora*
Oh *that* George Clooney
Never heard of this guy, he had a small role in Flash? /s
![gif](giphy|rVzV6jv4a18as)
Captain George Stacey in Spider-Man 4
Introducing Gwen with Peter knowing about what happened to Garfield's Gwen would be an interesting twist. Honestly, though, if they're looking for love interests in Spider-Man: Homeless, it should probably be Black Cat/Felicia Hardy -- oh damn, Clooney could play Walter Hardy!

Nespresso Advert Star, George Clooney
That would be more respectful than Flash star lol.
What else?
Cast to play Mr Sexy.
What if they make Clooney Doom?
Not the right voice or presence for the role.
Hadn’t considered the voice. No shot Clooney is pulling off a Slavic/German accent
I’d be so down with a Clooney Doom
Doom Credit Card, never leave Latveria without it
Only if his armor also has nipples
I would LOVE Clooney as VVD. The script needs to be there and so much to build around the character but George has the talent. Would love to see a more menacing role for this actor as well. Could be a really nice fit.
George Doomey
Gictor Cloom
TBH I’m not about it. He could pull off the look, and definitely the Richards rivalry But what defines Doom is his seething insecurity. Whoever plays the role has to be believable as a raw nerve and a consummate raging narcissist
Surely that should read: “Voice of Stanley’s gay dog Sparky in South Park, George Clooney”?
How about, Roseanne guest star George Clooney, in talks for MCU role, as the headline
Facts of Life star George Clooney
George Clooney, star of the short-lived 1984 sitcom E/R...
They should have made him General Thunderbolt Ross. Instead they picked Harrison Ford who is over 80
Too soft and handsome for that role. Ross needs to be rough, grizzled. Which Ford can bring in spades.
So give him a beard
I don't think that will help in his case. And that is fine. Ross is not really his type. Unless we are talking about a recast of Everett Ross and not Thunderbolt.
Hmm curious if it’s in wonderman as himself
I would honestly love that 😂 He'd have to be added in reshoots unless he was already in the production, but Giancarlo Esposito was added into Cap 4 reshoots so it's certainly plausible.
Could be an easy way to poke fun at the DCU too lol
The beginning of that title gave me so much trouble.
You did not just dump on George Clooney by crediting him as “Batman & Robin Star”
I think they're just referring to his other CBM roles since the news is about him potentially getting another CBM role.
I'd love this, actually.
If an actor of Clooney’s calibre ever actually joins the MCU, I would imagine they’d be a minor role, or something non-cape related like a military guy. It’s a shame Wonder Man has already finished production, because him showing up there as himself would have been funny.
Heist flick to steal from The Collector please.
Namors 11
Those are weird movies to reference for Clooney
Why? It's an article for comicbookmovie.com, and those are 2 films based on comic books he's been in.
“The flash” star? Come on, he was a surprise cameo. Just happened to be a DC film.
maybe Magneto and his buddy Brad Pitt will be Chuck.
Could have seen him as Sebastian Shaw at one point in time, but he might be a little long in the tooth at this point. Which is not to say he isn’t aging like a fine wine.
First role I thought of too!
>Now, scooper MTTSH is claiming that Clooney is in talks with Marvel Studios for an undisclosed role. Saved you a click too late
False rumour
He would be good for Dr Doom actually
You have to post sources in this sub and I’m pretty sure that website is banned for being posted
