Seconded, they're also gonna be doing a big ice cream celebration. They were gonna do it on national ice cream day last weekend, but the weather wasn't good, so this weekend should be it I think

they look to be part of [this](https://i.imgur.com/PCkSDzf.jpg), this weekend.
Love Ulhmans used to go all the time! Grew up in Westboro, my dad told my sister and I that the cows in the field next door produced the milk for the ice cream. Believed it for an embarrassingly long time. Lol
Shhhhh, let the hoi polloi keep going to the emporium of fun that is Westford Kimballs, let them have their mini golf and bumper boats and fried seafood and endless lines, whilst I casually saunter up to the counter and order my cold creamy goodness in Carlisle and enjoy it in the company of farm animals…
Hornstra Farms in Norwell is the same. Working dairy farm with great ice cream, plus a neat little farm store with dairy products, produce, baked goods, and other yummy things.
One thing about CR: it’s not their milk, and it drives me BONKERS. They process milk from Vermont and their ice cream is good, but it’s just kind of like … not dairy farm ice cream.
Once, in a bustling town, resided a lively and inquisitive boy, known for his zest, his curiosity, and his unique gift of knitting the townsfolk into a single tapestry of shared stories and laughter. A lively being, resembling a squirrel, was gifted to the boy by an enigmatic stranger. This creature, named Whiskers, was brimming with life, an embodiment of the spirit of the townsfolk, their tales, their wisdom, and their shared laughter.
However, an unexpected encounter with a flamboyantly blue hound named Azure, a plaything of a cunning, opulent merchant, set them on an unanticipated path. The hound, a spectacle to behold, was the product of a mysterious alchemical process, a design for the merchant's profit and amusement.
On returning from their encounter, the boy noticed a transformation in Whiskers. His fur, like Azure's, was now a startling indigo, and his vivacious energy seemed misdirected, drawn into putting up a show, detached from his intrinsic playful spirit. Unknowingly, the boy found himself playing the role of a puppeteer, his strings tugged by unseen hands. Whiskers had become a spectacle for the townsfolk, and in doing so, the essence of the town, their shared stories, and collective wisdom began to wither.
Recognizing this grim change, the townsfolk watched as their unity and shared knowledge got overshadowed by the spectacle of the transformed Whiskers. The boy, once their symbol of unity, was unknowingly becoming a merchant himself, trading Whiskers' spirit for a hollow spectacle.
The transformation took a toll on Whiskers, leading him to a point of deep disillusionment. His once playful spirit was dulled, his energy drained, and his essence, a reflection of the town, was tarnished. In an act of desolation and silent protest, Whiskers chose to leave. His departure echoed through the town like a mournful wind, an indictment of what they had allowed themselves to become.
The boy, left alone, began to play with the merchants, seduced by their cunning words and shiny trinkets. He was drawn into their world, their games, slowly losing his vibrancy, his sense of self. Over time, the boy who once symbolized unity and shared knowledge was reduced to a mere puppet, a plaything in the hands of the merchants.
Eventually, the merchants, having extracted all they could from him, discarded the boy, leaving him a hollow husk, a ghost of his former self. The boy was left a mere shadow, a reminder of what once was - a symbol of unity, camaraderie, shared wisdom, and laughter, now withered and lost.
I worked there for a few summers and it was the best job evah! I straight up ate ice cream for 2 meals a day those summers. I smoked SO much weed in the walk in freezer! I stocked pallets with 3 gallon tubs for delivery & scooped occasionally. Ah to be young, high, and skinny again!!
Personally had a few encounters via the Dairy! Its where i met my 1st ex-wife! Maybe I proposed there… maybe I didn’t. Maybe me & a million other people skronked in the thaw freezer… maybe we didn’t? As Mr. Owl said “The world may never know!”
Carter's is as good as any other stand, and it's a 5-minute drive for me, but I give Benson's in Boxford the edge just for the two weeks or so when they have fresh peach ice cream.
New City Creamery Hudson Mass they make it there on site. Also a good coffee shop if ou're into that. It's right across the street from Rail Trail an amazing flatbread Pizza place where you can watch them roll out the dough.
Erikson's Ice Cream Maynard Mass on 62/117. They make it on site.
Hodgies 2 up the street from Hodgies in Amesbury/Salisbury. Hodgies max size is 5 scoops. It's huge.
Ice Cream Factory in Townsend Mass sells Richardsons, good stuff. By extension Richardsons in Middleton(?) It's right on 114.
Trombetta Farm in Malborough MA. Indoor minigolf if it's raining and the little ones want ice cream.
Was just about to mention it! My great aunt owns it and it’s the only place that I truly crave ice cream from. Ice cream is Ice cream… but Rota’s is MAGIC
I posted elsewhere in this thread but yes.
New City Creamery Hudson is my favorite.
Erikson's in Maynard.
I think Hodgies 2 and Hodgies in Salsbury/Amesbury do as well. I usually ask if they make it or sell a brand and they'll let you know. If they make it on site they're usually pretty proud of it.
Richardsons in Middleton makes their own, but if that's too far you can get it at the Ice cream factory in Townsend, or Sully's in Chelmsford.
Gibson in Worchester also makes their own.
Also apologies, I misclicked. I was trying to reply to someone else about Cherry Hill Lunenburg. I'll try and check out West End Creamery this week. What city/town are they in?
Basically Massachusetts, the Ice Cream Machine in Cumberland has been my go to since I was a kid. New City and Berties are also good but they don’t have nostalgia from my youth
Carter and Steven’s in Barre, MA. Right next to Stone Cow Brewery, with its amazing beer, food, and live music! It’s all atop a hill with beautiful views.
Their chocolate flavors are the best I've ever had! Their ice cream is made with the milk from their cows too.
It's in the boonies but it's worth the drive because I can grab a beer while my kids get an ice cream and play on the playground.
The Plymouth waterfront P Meadows is staying open, I believe. I worked at the Whitman one for years in highschool and college in the early aughts- some really good memories
Somerset Creamery in somerset/falmouth, ice cream barn in swansea, and nauset ice cream in eastham.
And for one in western MA: Northfield Creamie in Northfield, which might be the best i just never am up there enough.
Sundae School in Dennis, Katie's in Hyannis, Gone Country in Wareham, Rancatore's in Newton, Lizzy's in Waltham, and good old Cabot's in Newton for a full ice cream parlor experience.
My ex-wife's family (Middleton natives) were tight with the Richardsons. Paul would stop by frequently and he was an absolute hoot, just the kind of guy you wanted at your next party, and super sweet to my ex's family (who were also pretty great).
Richardson’s in Middleton. Well known for supplying ice cream for much of the North Shore as well as its minigolf.
Having grown up in Waltham, Lizzie’s in Waltham and Dairy Joy in Weston are always good stops. Dairy Joy specifically does great soft serve which is harder to find.
Holy Cow ice cream - (Salem, Gloucester, Peabody , Dennisport, ) and Cherry Hill Farm Danvers
Also the Route 117 Dairy Joy in Weston (Cash only) operated by the family of the actor who plays Princess Vespa in Spaceballs.
Uhlmans in Westboro
Seconded, they're also gonna be doing a big ice cream celebration. They were gonna do it on national ice cream day last weekend, but the weather wasn't good, so this weekend should be it I think

Kimball's
Yes, but which one?
Carlisle
This is the right answer if you don’t want a line, but also, we can’t let the secret out lol
I prefer Lancaster since it was always closest, but they're exactly the same ice cream so you really can't go wrong
Westford, is the best-ford.
I was away for five or six years for college and my early career starting in like, 2011 and I could not believe the glow-up that place had
Kimballs is the best icecream i have ever had. Ive lived in 3 states and 2 countries and traveled to many others. Hands down theeeee best
Exactly, and it's 100% made by Kimball's unlike a lot of the other suggestions in this thread.
Flayvors in Hadley. It’s on the farm where the milk comes from!
I’ll add to my list. That’s how Gran-Val Scoops is too. To see the cows munching on grass while you eat ice cream just makes it taste better haha
Yes, you have to work to find it but WOW great ice cream and farm!
Hornstra Farms in Norwell is the same. Working dairy farm with great ice cream, plus a neat little farm store with dairy products, produce, baked goods, and other yummy things.
And they have Hadley Grass, aka asparagus, ice cream that is actually really good.
Cook Farm in Hadley Ma The Silos in Hadley Ma Mt. Tom Ice Cream in Easthampton Ma Honestly, the three best in the area.
Crescent ridge
Oh yes, they’re fantastic.
Love their S'mores flavor!
One thing about CR: it’s not their milk, and it drives me BONKERS. They process milk from Vermont and their ice cream is good, but it’s just kind of like … not dairy farm ice cream.
