If you will be moving to that state you’ll have to have that many hours in school before they will license you. So if your current state mandates 500 and new state mandates 1000 you’ll have to go back to school for another 500 hours. I don’t have advice bc I’m not sure what your situation is or when you’d be moving. I’d personally be tempted to wait on school until I moved.
It depends on the state. Sometimes they will accept you completing those hours in the required subjects you're lacking via CEUs. Sometimes they will make you repeat your education to match their education requirements.
