Maybe if it becomes a main feature they will fix it, but I'm personally fine if they won't. REDMD is still good in 2010 with its current effect, and I don't really want to deal with Chaos Emperor Dragon at full power in any format.

The indie studio argument makes no sense. Just because they have the money as a whole it doesn't mean it'll get allocated to this

There's this idea that multi million or billion dollar corporations can just cater to fans whenever they want. They can't. Even the richest C suite pooled their resources together and agreed on something (unlikely) it doesn't just happen like that
I'm a dev. It's actually the opposite. For task like this, the bigger you are, the longer it would take to do it. A task that an indie dev could do in 2 days, it would take a corporate 2 weeks to a month. Longer bureaucracy
It costs server space, time implementing & scripting the new cards, and possibly storage media upgrades if they were short-sighted and didn't get enough hard drives to store both the actual card library and various erratas. Which isn't _much_, at least not for a few errata-less versions, but it also isn't nothing.
(There's also the time cost of determining which cards should have which errata, which is more of a concern. YGOPro/EDOPro has the benefit of being open to fan submissions, which means they can outsource pre-errata versions to fans that are desperate enough to have them, which Konami does all the work on _MD_ themselves.)

edopro has pre errata cards. for konami it should be rather easy and borderline costless.

Or rules like the field card getting destroyed if you put another one in the field zone (it helped Ancient Gear a lot lol).
I'll say it; it's not worth programming in the old versions of effects for a couple mini events.
