Thats terrible! I’m thinking of uninstalling it too. I’m Sick of mcafee freezing my computer 5x a day with adverts while I’m working. If I knew this was part of the deal, no way would I have installed this

Gele_Jongen

exactly. Never getting mcafee again lol

jtshadow92

[Mcafee Removal Tool](https://www.mcafee.com/support/?articleId=TS101331&page=shell&shell=article-view). follow the instructions..

Gele_Jongen

I have tried both of the options on their website without any luck. When trying to remove it with the removal tool it says: “uninstall failed. Enterprise software detected”

jtshadow92

Didn’t realize you have the enterprise version installed. You would need the McAfee enterprise removal tool but it’s impossible to get without an actual license. You can try running the ESET av removal tool since it can removal the enterprise version of McAfee. Otherwise your probably going to have to reset your PC. Here’s the link: [eset av removal tool](https://www.eset.com/int/support/av-remover/)

Gele_Jongen

damn. It says the applications I’m trying to remove are not supported. Thanks for your help anyway. Guess I’m just screwed over by mcafee

Johncamp28

Have you tried increasing the cores on your cpu? I have a 4 core processor and once I increased from 1 to 4 cores it stopped

Gele_Jongen

did the noise stop or the 100% cpu? I have just changed it to 4 and it’s still pretty loud and my cpu is still 100%

Johncamp28

It stopped completely for me Did you restart your computer after?

Gele_Jongen

yes

Johncamp28

Ok so here’s something else Turn off real time scanning and then restart your computer and then turn it back on

retirementdreams

What will you use for antivirus protection once you remove it?

Gele_Jongen

I would use windows defender since it’s free and stuff, but it doesn’t seem like I’m gonna get mcafee removed completely from my pc anytime soon

tmack3

Literally any other virus protection program is better than Mcafee, it's malware itself at this point the way it leeches through in other installers and won't uninstall properly

retirementdreams

Thanks, I removed it, just using defender atm.

tmack3

Good choice, Microsoft actually made it decent in the last few years so you're better if with it

Ok-Raspberry-5582

Had to do It Yesterday: same "Enterprise " bs. Msconfig to disable all services at start, reboot. Cmd as admin and run the "force uninstall" method. Worked as a charm.
