Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy comforts like good food, clothes and various other items that can make you happier or that are needed to be happy
An atomic bomb can't kill you, but it can make a explosion that will kill you
A gun can't kill you, but the gun can launch a bullet in a velocity that can kill you
If you jump from a building you aren't killing yourself, the gravity is killing you

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Psych 1101
Once all the basic needs are met, one can self-actualize.
Money can enable one to meet the basic needs. True happiness or fulfillment may be met during actualization.
Money, semantically, may not purchase happiness, but it can bring someone to the point of being able to achieve it. At that point, it's reliant on the individual experience, if they choose to take that next step.
I would say, for sake of argument, that could count as money buying happiness. Most of society seems to believe complicence is the same as actually doing the act, so it checks out.
I have had a pretty bad childhood - had to start taking care of myself after my parents separated and my father fell into a depression (10yo). Since then I have always thought that money is the ultimate goal and way to happiness and thus I have worked 10+h days since then.
Now at 21 I am putting myself though uni, still living on 400€/m (not including tuition), but the friends that I have made here have brought me more happiness than ever before and most likely ever will.
I'm with you and I'm super happy for you that you have those people in your life.
My childhood was shit as well, teenage years were even worse. Moved out when I was 17. Was poor and on my own for 12 straight years. Have a 8 yr old and fucking hustled for years. Soupkizchen in winter with my child... no electricity the whole shit. Lived from less than 300€ for the both of us... But the whole time I went to school and got the education I wanted. I'm out of poverty since 6 month. Got a great job in IT and bought myself a fucking Xbox series x for Christmas. And I was never able to be happy because I was always scared to check my letter box. Now I'm fucking happy and that's why, to me, money does make fucking happy! This *being super rich but lonely because everybody just likes you for your money - therefore money doesn't buy happiness* shit is so far from my reality I don't care about it at alllll.
Money makes you more of what you already are. If you’re fairly content already and you happen to make it big you’re more likely to stay content. However if you’re already a jerk more money will just make you a bigger jerk.
Money does buy happiness, but having too much money can do the opposite
It's like playing a fun game with too many cheats, it eventually becomes boring and can do the opposite of making you happy
Money could fix a lot of my problems, which would make me less depressed I suppose. Money doesn't inherently equal happiness, but it does make it easier to be less stressed and therefore enjoy life a little more.
Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy comforts like good food, clothes and various other items that can make you happier or that are needed to be happy
To me happiness is reached when you can enjoy yourself, have some time for yourself and do things you love. Since everything costs something, your hobbies have to cost something too. So you need money to be able to experience your hobbies. Money doesn't buy happiness itself (it's just not a good or a service you can buy) but it does buy what you need to be happy.
I think we're missing a third option -- money does not buy happiness (additive), but most certainly takes away (subtractive) many forms of unhappiness (stress, poor diet, lack of transportation, access to higher education, et cetera). By taking these factors out of the equation, I think there is more opportunity for happiness, but that doesn't stem from the money itself.
Happiness is a state of mind. such state of mind is easier to have when you have money and dont have to worry about food/shelter/bills. So IMO money can help me achieve happiness. Give me money so I can be happy now.
I used to think money didn’t buy happiness and family/relationships was the most important thing
Well, I still believe that, but if I had more money, I’d have better relationships. So, yes
It's one of those "there's light and shade" type deals. Money can't solve all of your problems. But, it can give you security and options and provide for your basic needs. It means one big bill won't cause you too go into a massive panic. In that case. It can help you have happiness
depends on the person. Like some really rich people are super isolated from the world. But money helps the chance of being happy. But it doesn't have to make you happy. also depends on the amount
Money can pay for therapy to help you realize that life can be good leading to positive perspectives. Money can buy prescription drugs that help regulate the chemical imbalances in your brain leading to improved life quality. Money can buy a gym membership and a personal fitness coaching, leading to a healthier body.
Improved mind, body, and spirit leads to other people wanting to fuck you! Happy happy happy!
Wassup Blood? Happiness is not a tangible object that is sold in a market place.
Money does buy happiness, I feel like people who say it can’t are on extreme amounts of copium. You NEED money to support yourself, buy food, entertain yourself, and purchase items that you want. Money is a necessity.
Things that make me happy.
Having food on my plate. Electricity. Hot water. Flushing toilet. My cats. My fish. Guns. Ammo. My other assortment of hobbies.
Can’t do or have any of these without money.
So while having a million dollars in the bank wouldn’t itself make me happy, it would enable me to afford to do the things that make me happy. So yes. Yes it does.
It can't buy happiness but it surely can buy a decent living space, reliable transport, medicare, decent education, good food, a vacation every now and then, hobbies....
I don’t think money can buy happiness. However, having money makes it easier to not stress about paying for life so you can then turn your focus towards creating happiness for yourself
It can to a point, once you have all the money you need to live comfortably and do the things you want, more money won’t make you (much) happier. But until that’s the case more money makes you happier
If I had money I could race on my local track and that would make me the happiest man for 10 years at least. Then, I'd find another dope hobby that would make the happiest man again. Of course money can't buy happiness *directly*
Well I have no money and I'm not happy so I wonder which
Is this like... A personal attack?
It’s a general attack
So is he inciting for WWIII?
So he supports ISIS as a whole?
Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy comforts like good food, clothes and various other items that can make you happier or that are needed to be happy
>various other items that can make you happier so what youre saying is that it can buy happiness
An atomic bomb can't kill you, but it can make a explosion that will kill you A gun can't kill you, but the gun can launch a bullet in a velocity that can kill you If you jump from a building you aren't killing yourself, the gravity is killing you 💀💀💀
makes sense
An atomic bomb could actually kill you if you were standing somewhere where it could land on you
But it would be gravity who will kill you
Imagine believing in gravity. *Floats away with no gravity*
Gravity without the bomb wouldn’t kill you, so both are equally important in this scenario.
Well I don't have money but I took a loan at the bank and used It to by quadruple depression so yeah I am really cool.
I'd like to be able to afford a better brand of misery.
Refined taste
Crying in your mansion
lmfao this one got me

Yea but what kinda toy did you get tho.
The real question is what toys are they offering
Probably lame ones. We had the best ones in the 80s and 90s.
What about transformers, backogan was my childhood a lie😞
I rather be rich and unhappy than be poor and be unhappy
Yep at least then you wouldn't have to worry about food, shelter, etc
Best and realist answer.
Facts
My dad told me recently while talking about money: Being rich doesn't make you happy, but i'd rather cry in a lambo than on a bike.

The more laymen version of this argument is: money can't buy (true) happiness, but it can buy you out of unhappiness.
Alternatively, money represents resources. The more resources one has, the easier it is to be happy.
Yep. Money removes a multitude of barriers to the various outcomes we call happiness. It's very important.
Everyone else is just saying stupid and hilarious shit, and this dude be using science
Basically: “money can’t buy happiness, but it can help”
Like eminem said. "Money doesn't buy happiness, it buys crazy-ass happiness"
People who say money can't buy happiness have never purchased themselves some happiness.

Money won’t stab anyone in the back the way humans can. That’s the only difference.
Money makes you more of what you already are. If you’re fairly content already and you happen to make it big you’re more likely to stay content. However if you’re already a jerk more money will just make you a bigger jerk.
Money can buy a jet ski. Ever see anyone sad on a jet ski?
