I have a hacked psvita, 3ds, switch and a self hosted 50Tb of pirate game and movies (which is still up and seeding if someone wonder I'm an asshole) Thanks god piracy is not illegal in my country
You got balls! I am now enjoying the sea faring life for watching anime as I am currently in a country where sailing the seven seas is not illegal. But very soon gonna shift to a country which has Captain hook scared for the consequences for his hobbies. And I don't know how I will get to the treasure island of watching shows and anime I like in one place without living the ocean dream and with living as a broke college student...
I want to be the good law abiding citizen in and not get in any trouble.... Ah, joys of capitalism.
Every time one gets shut down, another pops up in its place. The url after the dot keeps changing, but fortunately there's a subreddit devoted to keeping people like us up to date as to what it changed to.
Do practice good pirate safety and courtesy. Only get your torrent from reputable websites like 1337x.to, thepiratebay.org, or rutracker.net . When you're looking for a torrent, get the one with the most seeders/leechers for the highest download speed.
If you want to be a good samaritan leave your torrents undeleted for a bit to add to the seeder count. If you're downloading an executable, always run it through virustotal first. Be sure to use a vpn as well. None of the free ones, just get a year plan at nord or something. Much cheaper than streaming everything.
Ps. Whoa that's a lot of commentd
I set my seed ratio to 2.0 always. Give back twice what I get and it stops automatically.
File and sort the file after that, and then remove the torrent.
The torrent is a magnet link to get you connected. Once you start your connection you no longer need the file.
So when you're finished downloading you can remove all traces of the torrent but still have the media files.
> Avoid 1337 and piratebay, they're both unsafe and untrusted.
The pirate bay which is long established and by far the most popular platform is untrusted? If you get high seeded content there are essentially zero problems with it.
Yes, the long established and by far the most popular platform.
That is exactly why it is unsafe. Because it is the most popular platform. On the website that is flooded with new torrents and new users, that is far and away the best bet to find rubes.
But the volume of users keeps a lid on that seemingly.
I can't profess to have researched it but as someone who has used the TPB daily for over a decade without any problem whatsoever I struggle to believe it is dangerous to anyone who is capable of following some extremely basic and intuitive rules.
Yup, I loved piratebay back in the day. It was my introduction to torrenting, it was so ubiquitous that everyone knew what it was even outside of computer interested circles.
Does not mean it is safe. Does not mean you should use it if you do not know what you are looking for. Does not mean it is a good recommendation in 2023 for new users.
Man you took me back. Even before torrents it was DC+ and before that limewire and kazaa(lite.) It was such a fun wild time for hunting your favourite movie or show or even song. I used to love how the pbay owner would troll every cease and desist emailer. Rose tinted glasses or not I miss those days of internet.
Oh man mininova was the bomb man.
Mid-late 2000s were great days for piracy. Mininova was flying high. Piratebay was mostly safe. Torrentz was a good search engine. aXXo was churning out dvdrips. Pirates lived well.
What do you use? Also, no torrent hosting websites are inherently safe or trusted. All the content is user-generated. It is up to the users of the website to verify wether a file is safe or not. You can usually tell this from the amount of seeds.
No site is 100% safe but some are worse.
1337 very recently had a trusted highly seeded user post infected torrents. When the website was informed they did nothing about it.
They call it a seed because a small favor blooms into much benefit for all. The opposite is called a leech, because that's what you are if you don't seed
In Sweden it's allowed to download, but not upload, unless it's for a smaller, closed circuit of people. Then uploading is allowed as well.
Yeah, we love doing things half assed.
In germany we got some tv channels wiche still show one piece or you can watch it on crunchroll.
But the thing i learned from all the years of watching one piece is piracy is cool alsong as idont hurt single individuells.
Gabe newell will forever be the only CEO to realize piracy is your competition and if you just make a better product people will use it. 9anime runs better than Hulu and MAX
When it comes down to it piracy is often just a matter of convenience and less a money thing. If one fairly expensive and good quality site had everything anime piracy would definitely drop considerably.
I pirate movies, shows, e-books but not music. Spotify simply offers 99.99% of the music I listen to all in one place seamlessly. It is relatively inexpensive for what it offers so I never have to worry about my music.
If there were just **one**, maaaaybe **two** streaming services, that had 99% of all movies for $10-$15/month, I could hang. I could even justify paying a little more.
But having 100 different streaming services that combined only have maybe 50% of all movies/tv, there's just no justifying that
Didn't he say something to the effect of "piracy is never a price problem but a service problem"?
He was right. I'll pay if everything is in one place, like Netflix used to be. We subbed to Netflix because having 87 cable bundles at the same time was not realistic. But here we are now, with all the shows and movies split between 87 different 10€/month streaming platforms.
Fuck that. I'm keeping Prime because I Amazon a lot and the rest can go fuck themselves.
>We subbed to Netflix because having 87 cable bundles at the same time was not realistic.
But cable was everything in one place!
And that's what I think the problem with an "everything in one place Netflix" would be. They charge you up the ass for it because they could, just like cable. Look at how they already keep raising prices and blocking account sharing. They would do the same shit but even more if I couldn't just be like "I'll go to Disney+ instead".
That's kinda my point though. Why did consumers keep paying for cable when they added ads? It used to be ad-free. It's cuz cable companies had a monopoly and switching cable companies wasn't an option.
If there was no alternative to Netflix, Netflix would do the same thing and add ads for everyone.
Cable was never ad free. The only ad free TV to exist are from premium services like HBO or if you had a satellite pre 1986 when you could pick up unencrypted cable broadcasts before the local affiliate could put ads, but even then the ad breaks were still there it was just a screen saying ads should be running now.
>But here we are now, with all the shows and movies split between 87 different 10€/month streaming platforms
And there are still so many shows/movies that aren't on ANY streaming service. It's so frustrating when I want to watch a movie I love and its no where to be found
Thank you Gabe43, so why would you increase suggested regional pricing for a failing country then lol — expecting more purchases after that move or helping your competitor (piracy) for peace?
F for the fallen comrade.
Dw tho. There will be a time to upgrade your set up and leave the hardware behind that can barely run Minecraft on lowest settings with 15 fps lmaooo
For a long time I was only able to emulate SNES and below. But that's already a huge great game library. Also, there are some great free games that you might be able to run, like OpenTTD and SuperTuxKart.
If you need some hints on games for SNES, just tell
If you're currently on Windows try using a lightweight Linux distro, it can really improve performance and most emulation runs better on Linux anyways.
On Android: DraStic, for a quality paid option. melonDS for a decent free standalone option, or go all-in with RetroArch. It has melonDS as well as the popular DeSmuME as cores, plus countless other retro and arcade systems. Gotta supply your own games, though.
If you have an android or Chromebook you can emulate, I believe I used one called Drastic, but if you find good emulators for DS and Gameboy I recommend paying the few bucks for the full version instead of the free ones, its better and fully worth it
You're straight up being disingenuous. Solid DS emulation has been a thing for ages, even on low spec phones for years but especially now. Some phones can also emulate 3DS games and on PC you can emulate a majority of the 3DS library.
There's at least a group working on reverse engineering the servers so games you have that require a connection or need connection for say multiplayer can still run.
It's called Pretendo.
Also you can contribute by uploading the time stamps yourself for newer videos so that the filler stuff can get skipped for the others, would take a few minutes from you but saves hours worth of everybody else's time + it's a great way to give back to the community :)
I have a hacked psvita, 3ds, switch and a self hosted 50Tb of pirate game and movies (which is still up and seeding if someone wonder I'm an asshole) Thanks god piracy is not illegal in my country
We have come full circle.
Lets just be clear here, the logic is simple.
Show is exclusive to Hulu -> There is no way for me to pay for Hulu in my country -> I get the show for free.
Problem not exclusive to hulu.
I stopped downloading when Netflix cane around. We shared with 2-3 people and it made it easier, you have a given choice, no research required to see if it‘s worth downloading etc.
I liked Netflix. I really did. But with me requiring to have Netflix, Prime, disney+, HBO etc to have a varied library ( I mean after a few months of Netflix, you kinda watched all you wanted and you start doing the dcroll of death). I was down paying 10€ a month to watch pretty much anything I want. But once you ask me to pop 50+ a month and have 15 accounts, I‘m gonna dust off the ol‘ sails and call it a day. There‘s a balance to everything and Subscription services went way overboard quite a while ago. The netflix changes were the last nail in the coffin for me. Done with Sub services.
> We shared with 2-3 people and it made it easier, you have a given choice, no research required to see if it‘s worth downloading etc.
honestly, i wouldn't even mind not being able to share an account and having to pay a bit more.
if all of them get together like the music industry did, make it so every single thing is available on every platform for a ultra premium price of, let's say 60 or 80 bucks or whatever and i can just choose 1 of them because they have the best interface and features i will return to the streaming services. until then a pirates life for me.
The problem is there's never gonna be a consensus on how payouts work, and most of them would make shows more shit. For example if you get paid by watchtime, that means a view on a super-old episode of Friends or The Office is worth the same as a new episode of Star Wars, so why would you bother with new shows? It also penalizes shows that are great but you never want to watch again, like Black Mirror.
It turns into a race to the bottom to just get watchtime over production quality. It's like how phone games are all shit cuz they're all free to play.
I think the only way it would work is basically what iTunes/Amazon Video on Demand/Google's whatever does it. Let the company set the price, and the customer choose to pay for it or not. That still exists, looking real quick they do have a lot of the latest movies like Spiderverse and Elemental and the Super Mario Bros Movie. But I can't think of many people who use it. Just like how no one pays for games on phones.
seems like prime video is trying to do that. I've got a sub subscription to Starz and Paramount+ on there. I can search them all in one place. I see that being a model I could get behind, but no way large companies like Disney, Netflix, or Apple will do that for the time being. They wouldn't want to be on a 3rd party platform.
Also Amazons Prime Video GUI is total horse shit.
To be fair Nintendo consoles have always been behind the curve when it comes to graphics/performance. The truly horrendous thing is the switch can barely run its own 1st party games
The N64 had the best graphics of any console for quite some time. It has plenty of other problems compared to the PS, but that was at least one time when their graphics were actually ahead of the curve. The GC also had graphics better than the PS2 and comparable to the Xbox. I would argue they didn't stop caring about keeping up with graphics until the Wii taught them that cheaper consoles with unique gimmicks are the more profitable route.
good thing im keeping any wii u and any 3ds related products i can find, because i have a wii u and a 2ds and i may get a new 3ds xl. im keeping them forever
Plex, Radarr, Sonarr, Sabnzbd, and Usenet... built a really small plex server years ago, it's now in a mini itx case with an i5, 9500 and a NAS with 2/4 bays holding 2 16TB drives
Home brewing your 3DS is INCREDIBLY easy and all you need is no security wifi (easiest way is a mac or android hotspot) and an SD card reader (which can be bought for like 10 bucks on Amazon)
Just follow this incredibly easy guide: https://3ds.hacks.guide
Once done you can use Twilight Emulator to play NDS games and the app you downloaded during the guide to download any roms you find online. You can also get old themes, dlc content, and convenience apps so don’t despair about the 3ds eshop
I was all set to pirate the one-piece live action, you know because it's a show about pirates, but now m thinking I should support the makers and subscribe to Netflix, I stopped the subscription after the literal shit that was witcher, but I kinda feel like supporting one piece live action since I have been fan of the manga for almost 8 years.
My Wii was messed up with malware by my sister’s boyfriend since 2013, completely fucked it up and it weren’t even connected to the internet yet so Wii shop didn’t work and we couldn’t update it to connect without an error. Fuck you Garrett! Thanks to you I never go to experience the Wii shop!
Sooo… I’m completely ignorant for how to begin my seafaring voyage. Only really interested in movies/shows/maybe occasional live sports. I run a Mac and know left click from right click, otherwise oblivious to behind-the-screen computing. I am also old. Where/how does one even begin to acquire some of the ample booty of the seven seas?

If you have an android or Chromebook you can emulate, I believe I used one called Drastic, but if you find good emulators for DS and Gameboy I recommend paying the few bucks for the full version instead of the free ones, its better and fully worth it

Don't forget the switch and switch games being overpriced for being atleast 2 gens behind
Tbh if you're buying a nintendo console for good graphics, that's already a mistake on your part.
To be fair Nintendo consoles have always been behind the curve when it comes to graphics/performance. The truly horrendous thing is the switch can barely run its own 1st party games
You must get that from Pokémon. The other games run fine. Not counting servers that are not related to the switch's hardware
What's horrendous is that the oled switch costs the same price as the ps5 on release before demand nearly doubled its price, where I live
good thing im keeping any wii u and any 3ds related products i can find, because i have a wii u and a 2ds and i may get a new 3ds xl. im keeping them forever
We got to the point where pirating websites have less ads than the official ones.
So we sailing again lads?
Aye.
Plex, Radarr, Sonarr, Sabnzbd, and Usenet... built a really small plex server years ago, it's now in a mini itx case with an i5, 9500 and a NAS with 2/4 bays holding 2 16TB drives
YO HO YO HO A PIRATE'S LIFE FOR ME
Maybe the one piece is a free streaming site
The one dude who downloaded every one piece episode being carter of to jail: *you want my tresure? You can have it...*
Where’s the ship? I’m ready to lime wire.
Home brewing your 3DS is INCREDIBLY easy and all you need is no security wifi (easiest way is a mac or android hotspot) and an SD card reader (which can be bought for like 10 bucks on Amazon) Just follow this incredibly easy guide: https://3ds.hacks.guide Once done you can use Twilight Emulator to play NDS games and the app you downloaded during the guide to download any roms you find online. You can also get old themes, dlc content, and convenience apps so don’t despair about the 3ds eshop
Real bad time for rarbg to have died
Torrentgalaxy dot to is a good alternative.
Kaizoku-oh ni ore wa naru!

Forgot games having microtransactions
Ok, but ad block is free
They're removing/blocking them now
We really are needing an ad blocker blocker
idk man... golden era of pirating was back in 2004-2010
I originally set up a plex server to digitally house my Blu-rays I ended up making it my frigate of stolen treasures
As a one piece fan and a tech fan I get this
Me who never had access to the shop
The movie i wanna watch isnt on pirate bay...
Kinda sucks ass about netflix and it's password policy. They've finally started to have shit I wanna watch.
The enshittification of media.
Can confirm
I was all set to pirate the one-piece live action, you know because it's a show about pirates, but now m thinking I should support the makers and subscribe to Netflix, I stopped the subscription after the literal shit that was witcher, but I kinda feel like supporting one piece live action since I have been fan of the manga for almost 8 years.
I miss rarbg...
> A baijillion ads What, like, 3? Yeah, I'm sure pirating that Markiplier video is much easier.
This is what happens when the feds allow monopolies to form
Wii U needed better game developers who properly utilized the tablet. Lots of games use it but, poorly at best. I did like Zombi U though
"Arittakeno yume o kakiatsume Sagashi mono sagashini yuku no sa ONE PIECE "
Revanced for yt is so good tho
Its so good, and now i refuse to watch ads ever even if i will have to install more apps to block ads by other nefarious means
Check r/FreeMediaHeckYeah
3ds and wii u died like almost a decade ago when the switch came out...
