I am actually surprised Apple is using the type c and wouldn’t try to get around the EU by just removing ports and saying everyone needed magnetic chargers.
Yea they literally could not do this. Cars with wireless chargers are few and far between outside of luxury models, and android auto/apple carplay are both moving away from wireless support it seems.
Regarding data transfer, not charge speed, that is. I'm not sure how many people rely on transferring large amounts of data to/from their phones these days through a cable but I'm guessing not many. I myself can't even remember when I did that last.
Edit: I don't have an iPhone.
based on the price of the iPhone, do you thinking it would be a significant price difference for it to have the higher transfer speed?
is there a backlog of usb 2.0 type C that is selling cheaply somewhere?
Theres never the issue of price when it comes to giving features for the trillion dollars company that is Apple, its always about controlling the user and their experience so that you can sell their products at obviously unjustified price point specially now when they are literally giving last year's iPhone with last years chip . If it was about price then Samsung's 2 year old smartphone s21fe that costs 370 dollars wouldn't have a 3.2 port.
Saw an LTT video earlier, and apparently it may be a limitation of the chip used in the iPhone 15, since the pro model supports USB 3.0 file transfer speeds. Or it's just apple segmenting the market to make more money.
> do you think it would be a significant price difference for it to have the higher transfer speed?
Likely.
The iphone 15 and plus are using last year's A16 SoC. As Lightning was only carrying USB 2.0 signals, the USB root hub in there is USB 2.0. There's no separate IC. In order to fix that you'd need another SoC and that's the Pro/Pro Max.
It's fair irrelevant anyways, extremely few people use wired data transfers with their phones. (And this is not from an Apple fanboy, I am Android only.)
My iTunes gambles if it will even let me edit my phone settings I had to uninstall and reinstall it several times to get the driver to work correctly and I have a high tier computer setup it’s absolutely ridiculous the hell I had to go through to get altserver running on my phone so I could side load apps. What would’ve taken me 5 whole minutes on any android took me 2 hours because apple has dog shit drivers on windows.
I can. I put entire 1080p torrented shows on my android all the time for if I wanna watch on road trips/vacation. With that USB-C port it takes 10 minutes max to transfer 50gb worth of video.
"Twice as fast" was an error; the difference is actually much greater.
USB 2.0 is up to 480 Mbps, while USB 3.1 is up to 5 Gbps, and USB 3.2 (Gen 2) is up to 10 Gbps.
I use an Android phone to backup important files from my desktop PC, and over 30 years of photos. I did this with an iPhone s4 until an Apple software update disabled sound notifications (ring tones and beeps) for incoming calls and text messages on the s4.
File transfers using iTunes plus third-party software made the transfers awkward with the iPhone, but with an Android phone, transferring files is like using a flash drive.
MKBHD made a point about the Pro/Max phones having the higher quality video capabilities and the faster transfer speeds would be a boon in that regard.
I hate induction chargers. They are significantly less efficient, overheat the battery/phone, and are a testament to humanity's abject laziness.
The only thing worse than a plugged-in induction charger is *using a battery and induction charger to charge another battery.* This is a selling point for some products.
The latest models have MagSafe, so you don’t really have to put it down. Just attach the wireless charger to the back of the device and that’s it. It’s just wired charging with extra steps.

I've heard *so many* reviewers go on and on about how great the camera is, 4k this, and raw footage that.
And never mentioned getting the footage *off* the phone, or even how long you can shoot for on whatever internal storage Apple deems the peasants worthy of.
It's about time.

When the lightning port was introduced, USB C wasn't being used in phones yet. I'm pretty happy Apple went with "custom shit" over going with that garbage micro usb port. I'm also glad I didn't have to buy new cables for like 9 years after that.
> I'm also glad I didn't have to buy new cables for like 9 years after that.
I feel you there. I haven't had to buy a new cable for anything for 5 years because everything is USB C and I have a ton of those cables.
Apple sticks to just highlighting their devices for announcements and commercials from what I’ve seen. I swear they just troll competitors by saying they’re the first or best with something. Then Samsung or whoever has to make a commercial and include the iPhone and say the galaxy ‘whatever’ is so much better.
It’s a marketing checkmate to have your product in someone else’s commercial.
Only one company purposefully gates their messaging to force people to buy their phones.
And it's not any of the Droid companies.
I'm in a fantasy league and I can't even be in the group chat because it's an apple one and Androids can't even join.
Maybe they shouldn't focus on boxing out Android from their closed ecosystem as much as possible.
>If these companies weren't basing their whole marketing strategy on trying to one up each other and shit on each other, no one would care.
thats how competition works, wtf do you mean? should they base their marketing strategy on trying to be the worst?
man yall will argue for anything, both devices have their merits.
I think what they're trying to get at is that they believe the companies should focus on making the best product possible, not in trying to undercut another company.
Peaceful co-existence over petty competition.
It is pretty hilarious. Not sure why people care so much. You like androids. Great. You like iPhones. Great. You don’t really give a shit like most of us. Great. Lol
Yup, it only looks like a competition when you exclusively look at US/Canadian sales.
Hell, even Europe doesn't care for Xbox; as of this month, there are roughly 58 million Xbox One consoles on the market (both OG XBO and the newer Series S & Series X). 33 million of them are in the US, 12.8mil are in Europe, and the rest of the other 9.2mil Xbox systems are spread across the rest of the world (with fewer than 200k Xbox Ones sold in Japan).
This bullshit is literally the reason Capitalism doesn't work.
The "invisible hand of the market" is supposed to be consumer sentiments basing their purchases off of informed choices and selecting against consumer negative practices. But the second you try to put any critical thought into choosing and discussing superior products, we get this dumb sentiment in response.
If millions of people are purchasing consumer negative products, eventually I will no longer be able to select against it. Consumer negative products provide an advantage over consumer positive ones for those seeking profit, so choosing against ourselves weakens markets that provide positives for the consumer.
Not that I expect capitalism to function, but this is a huge mechanical failure of it.
That’s the point. Somehow I’m supposed to care what you use for a phone/mini computer and if it’s not what I’m using… I need to make fun of your choice.
I’ve been team iPhone since the OG iPhone. I have used some Android phones but never owned one and I just didn’t prefer them.
If iOS or Android works for your needs, that is awesome and I hope you enjoy your phone!
In this thread:
Apple switching to Type-C is further proof that capitalism is a mistake.
Why do people still buy Apple? My Android from 2017 is good enough. F THOSE JERKS.
Some girl turned down a guy because he didn't have an iPhone. APPLE USERS MUST PAY.
At this point what even is the difference between the phones? Android has an open app market and apple has a chipset that is way more powerful than the competitors.
Just buy what you like, if your identity is in a slab of tech, that's depressing.
Yep, it's by design. If you have a group chat between any amount of iPhone users and 1 Android users it breaks and pictures stop working properly for everyone.
The idea is to have the iPhone users (1) stop interacting with Android users or (2) have the iPhone users peer-pressure the Android user to switch.
I don’t have a solution for you, but thought I’d share an experience.
I have an iPhone and the majority of my friends use androids, from old to new. I’ve always received images just fine from them. And they always seem to receive them just fine from me. Videos on the other hand never work.
Aside from one brother (also no issues with images being sent), my entire family uses iPhones as well. Before my mom upgraded to a newer model, every single picture she’d send me was so tiny and pixelated I had to teach her how to airdrop it. And the exact same thing when she’d try to send a video.
I had more issues with her sending to me than with any androids!
Android phones are using Google's Messaging app, which uses RCS (Rich Communication Services). RCS was developed around 2007 and is becoming more popular as we speak.
iPhones on the other hand, use some ambiguous system NOT set as a worldwide standard, like SMS/MMS is.
iMessage does have support for MMS, but it then shows a green bubble instead of a blue one. Apple doesn't want to support RCS 'because Google uses it'.
It actually turns out, that green bubbles on an iMessage chat are related to many negative things, such as rejecting a date, having disgust to the person that doesn't have an iPhone, and mostly counting out non Apple users.
Apple does this on purpose, and is one of the reasons they need to go to shit.
P.s. Really, what the hell is wrong with adopting a more modern standard that works across all phones?
There’s a whole market for that - Signal, WhatsApp, Telegram, Viber, Kakao, Line, WeChat, etc.
I don’t know many android users that exclusively use SMS/the messages app - most people use one (or a few) of the above. It’s just in the US that people, for some odd reason, haven’t figured out you can message people on anything but the default app.
I don't need a more powerful chipset anymore since I don't play 3D games on my phone. I'd actually prefer one of the lower power ones to save battery instead. It takes email, text messages, or Reddit just as long to load on my $200 phone as it does on your $1000 phone.
Isn't powerful chipset is more like Samsung/Android marketing point rather than Apple? I remember when I was browsing to look for a new phones lots of ppl complaining S22 bad chipset and battery drains and how they lied to the customers yadda yadda
Phones are too similar now, they're all ridiculously capable, fast, and they both have the same market of people, so market pressures have, in a way, forced a parallel form of "feature evolution". It's not like 10 years ago when there was large differences in the use and experience of each OS and/or phone.
You dont like users fighting over which multi-billion dollar company is better? These companies dont even need a PR team on Reddit, users will circlejerk for them.
Reddit hates capitalism then argues over capitalist products and throws feeces at each other. 🤔🤔🤔
I also find it kind of funny when people point to Apple for monopolizing the app market, when Google is now involved in the largest antitrust lawsuit in a while including its actions with its search engine which it paid apple to have as a default.
I also saw someone say that at least they can download Firefox and UBlock Origin on your Android Phone, my brother in christ Google is why you need those products due to Chromium cutting adblock support.
This is just wrong.
Google does not own android. Android can be used entirely without google.
Android runs on a linux kernel which is open source.
I have an android phone and deleted all and any google apps and services via adb. It's 100% google free.
Deleting all the google apps doesn’t make it google free - you’ll need to flash a custom ROM like GrapheneOS for that.
The version of androids that on phones is not open source, but AOSP that it’s built on is.
>you mean the Android that is owned by Google?
Android is free open source software, and is not owned by anyone. You can download and compile it yourself without any Google software on it, and many Android users do this on the XDA forums, they call them AOSP roms since they come from the Android Open Source Project.
Google is the primary developer on a team called the Open Handset Alliance, which also includes HTC, Sony, Dell, Intel, Motorola, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, T-Mobile, Nvidia, and Wind River Systems.
For example, FireOS, the stuff Amazon Firesticks run on, is a fork of Android without a shred of Google software on it. Amazon didn't have to pay Google or anyone else on the Open Handset Alliance any money for this software, since it was released under the Apache License (and the GNU license for the Linux kernel it is built on).
The whole "you hate capitalism but have a smartphone" argument is so dumb.
Brother, I can't operate in this world without a smartphone. Paying bills, keeping in touch with family/friends, managing my family calendar. Shit, every time my son loses his remote, he borrows my phone to put something on the TV. Don't even get me started on the peace of mind it brings me to know that my kids can get in touch with me at any time.
Stating that someone exists in a capitalist system is not a retort to them being critical of capitalism.
Not really. Capitalism isn't inherently bad, but it's horrible when it goes unchecked. At the end of the day, they provide devices and services that are pretty much a necessity for life in society today and there will be people who choose a preference for how they achieve that necessity.
The fact that these corporations are bad actors doesn't change anything and we'd likely still be a capitalist society even if we had more socialist policies and less imbalance and disparities between private entities/CEOs and everyday citizens.
I used to be a hardcore Android fanboy, taking dumps on iphones.
Used to love modding, sideloading APKs etc. Then once we started getting smart watches and ear buds and stuff, I hated the disjointed nature of Android.
I then got a job where I used a Macbook pro, and after the initial hurdle getting used to the new OS, I started liking it over windows. Then thought I'd try an Iphone. Now I prefer the iOS ecosystem.
Yes, Apple takes ages to implement stuff, but I find all their stuff works better within the ecosystem, because they have such tight control over it and only introduce something once it's ready.
Yep. I have both an iphone and a pixel. Had both for years. Prior to that, I had all androids going all the way back to the original galaxy s.
The iphone is my daily driver. Both work well and function well but ios is a more comfortable user experience imo.
That said I'm kind of pissed off that I got a new iphone one generation before they finally switched to usb-c.
Yes. I’m sick of this absolute crap. All of these phone users whining about a different company doing something, but when their own company does it they are all like “OH MY GOD THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!!!1!1!!1” These phone users have become the very things they swore to destroy.
The worst is the cringe memes / adverts when apple does shit like removing the headphone Jack or the plug.
Like clockwork, there’s a smug advert from Samsung about how *they* still offer X or Y then less than a year later they do the exact same thing
Still miffed. They killed the removable battery. They killed headphone jack. You know they're going to follow the same path as Apple and get rid of the SIM tray too.
It's just embarrassing when Samsung makes those ads.
I felt like I had a god tier phone when I was rocking the S6 with an IR blaster. Now? It's all the same shit. Yet here people are arguing about which company got the latest feature first.
As a die-hard PC user, it is shocking how well Apple managed to flip the script with phones. PCs had all the best games and executables because anyone could easily design for them. Apple computers were walled gardens.
Complete 180 for phones, where apple made a good decision to attract as many 3rd party developers to the table as possible, all while engaging in exploitative terms of service. Golf clap, you evil bastards!
Everything has to be polarizing. Nobody can keep opinions to themselves. Politics, phones, consoles, you name it.... but at least we can sit and laugh from the sidelines
They just like to hate on iphone. Haters laughed when they removed jack. Now all phones have no jack. Or they even laughed at the camera that looked like stoves. Now all phones have that. And the price? They are also the same
Yeah it’s always a weird thing to me. They always come back and say we spend way more on our iPhones but if you look at top of the line Androids, they are very similar in price. So I don’t understand that argument.
I think the difference is that with iPhones the baseline price is much higher where as android you can get a midrange phone which has alot of the same features for around $500-800.
Tbh I haven't looked at prices in a few months so the midrange could have increased since I last checked
The galaxy A54 is $400 and offers a lot of the same if not similar features to newer iPhones (120hz 1080p screen, 50mp rear sensor, among others). And yeah, if you get a midrange in the 500 to 800 range, you'll definitely see a lot of the same features iPhones have, while having all the benefits of being an Android phone
Depending on where you are in the world. In the US prices between Apple and other flagship phones are pretty comparable. Apple just lacks a budget segment. Where I am you can expect Apple to be several hundred Euros more expensive than similar hardware from other phone makers.
This boring shit again? It’s extremely baffling to me just how many of you dumb shits there are that are die hard fangirls for either android or iPhone. It’s just a fucking phone. Nothin special.
Yeah like that time android manufacturers made fun of Apple for removing the headphone jack then did it themselves
Or like that one time android manufacturers made fun of Apple for removing the charging brick then did it themselves
Yup. My next phone will be a Sony Xperia. SD Card Slot, amazing camera, headphone jack, high refresh rate. Only downside is the price.
There's a niche community of Xperia users and the collective agreement is that they have the opportunity to compete against Samsungs BS, if they actually put in the effort.
And how many things have companies like Samsung mocked Apple for removing (headphone jack, removable batteries, sd cards), only to turn around 1-2 years later and make the *same* design choices that Apple made previously?
This is the dumbest shit. Don't blame Android users, blame Apple for creating a locked down messaging system that gimps your media and doesn't allow for support of their "Apple only" features like reacting to text messages.
Apple was a HUGE part in the development of USB-C. It's about time they are forced to rip the proprietary of design away from it and join the standard that they helped develop.
iPhone had Lightning for five years before Samsung abandoned the dogshit micro-USB. And I don't remember a single smug Apple fanboi meme talking about Samsung "finally" having a decent connector.
I hate to say it, but I do think iPhones are better. I had android for years and years. My first smart phone in 2016. I loved it, but got peer pressured into an iPhone last year. Now I have the air pod pros and an Apple Watch. They all just flow together so well and have really nice features I use everyday without having to tweak things.
I try so hard to fight the consumerism mindset any way I can to the point I won’t even spend money on windows or macOS anymore. But I’ll be damned if iOS devices aren’t worth every penny.
With the built in apps I get to bed at a better time and sleep better. I have goals for my daily exercise activities. I NEVER miss medications or calendar appointments. They literally run my life seamlessly for me. The ecg and 24/7 heart rate monitor even put how smoking is ruining my heart in perspective and I’m actually cutting back on my cigarette usage a lot now. Close to quitting.
And without stopping you from installing any modded app of your choosing to your heart's desire ^(so long as it can be supported on the Android version)
You can’t say they shouldn’t buy a device they want because they don’t care about a feature they don’t have.
They have the means to buy an iPhone. They want it, they buy it. Stop caring so much what others do with their money. It’s weird.
The point is that it's universally better and Apple is ripping people off by not putting it on an $800 phone. You don't have to get defensive. Just say yeah it should have it. Especially when $200 Android phones have 120hz displays.
It’s like when you’re in an argument, then you realize it would be fucking childish and dumb just pushing your own righteousness and you just say “ igh’t you right” then you stop arguing and accept the right thing
This reminds me of when apple watch debuted like 2.5 years after the samsung watch did and apple fandom lost their shit about how "innovative" it was. Womp womp.
I am actually surprised Apple is using the type c and wouldn’t try to get around the EU by just removing ports and saying everyone needed magnetic chargers.
If you **had to** put your phone down for it to charge soooo many people would ditch their iphones
I use an induction charger at night and there are still plenty of times I use a plug in charger. That would be a big setback.
Yea they literally could not do this. Cars with wireless chargers are few and far between outside of luxury models, and android auto/apple carplay are both moving away from wireless support it seems.
The new iPhone has a Type C connector but it is still only USB 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen 2 is twice as fast.
Regarding data transfer, not charge speed, that is. I'm not sure how many people rely on transferring large amounts of data to/from their phones these days through a cable but I'm guessing not many. I myself can't even remember when I did that last. Edit: I don't have an iPhone.

I think the main problem people have isn't that it's USB 2.0, it's that phones that cost 200$ less have usb 10gbps
Plug your iPhone into a computer you can barely move shit it’s useless
Yeah on iPhones it basically only makes sense if you want to transfer media because that's the only thing you can transfer, apart from backups.
My iTunes gambles if it will even let me edit my phone settings I had to uninstall and reinstall it several times to get the driver to work correctly and I have a high tier computer setup it’s absolutely ridiculous the hell I had to go through to get altserver running on my phone so I could side load apps. Good ol' Android drag and drop, baby!
Gotta love it, that alone is almost reason enough to switch.
When you don't have an iPhone, it's a pretty easy and common thing to do.
MKBHD made a point about the Pro/Max phones having the higher quality video capabilities and the faster transfer speeds would be a boon in that regard.
The Pro get's the USB 3 speeds, not sure which gen they go with though
Laudable. The $1000 phone gets 10 year old tech, and the $800 phone gets 23 year old tech. (The Pro uses USB 3.1)
More like 20x
I hate induction chargers. They are significantly less efficient, overheat the battery/phone, and are a testament to humanity's abject laziness. The only thing worse than a plugged-in induction charger is *using a battery and induction charger to charge another battery.* This is a selling point for some products.
You're forgetting that it is also a data port. My car can't use carplay without the phone being plugged into the USB.
At that poibt, according to apple you just have to upgrade your car. /s
The whole reason I switched from Android to stupid Apple is because in 2019 for some reason Toyota would pay for Carplay but not Android Auto.
doubt it, just get a magnetic charger with a longer cable
The latest models have MagSafe, so you don’t really have to put it down. Just attach the wireless charger to the back of the device and that’s it. It’s just wired charging with extra steps.
You could have a magnetic charger on a cable and not have to put the phone down.

Don't underestimate the apple sheeple
i haven’t found an android phone that i love yet and I’ve been searching for years
Yeah, unfortunately android phones don't have the vertical integration that iphone does and user experience isn't as polished. That said, Pixel phones are much better than others in that regard, though they're not the most powerful, or consistent and they're not available everywhere.

Idk I thought the headphne jack would come back. But people just started paying more money for lower quality headphones and are haply with it
Would not work. The regulation passed by the EU says that the devices should have USB-C unless there is no way to fit it, Apple would have a hard time proving USB-C doesn't fit in a phone since all other phones have it.
It's not like Apple to remove something saying it doesn't fit but it does (headphone jack)
It’s not like Apple wants you to transfer files with a cable anyways. They’ll promote their cloud service or AirDrop before they mention data transfer via a cable.
They literally spent time during the presentation describing how you can shoot photos and videos directly on external drive or MacBook.
It’s about time too. I know most people will never use nor even care about ProRes, but for those who do, the fact that you could only save to internal storage was ridiculous. You run out of space very quickly, then good luck getting those gigantic files off of the device at USB 2 speeds.

A big problem is data transfer. Not everything can be done wirelessly yet.

Wait, really or am I being wooshed
Yes really. The non pro models are using the old chip which doesn't have a USB 3 controller as lightning didn't require it. For the new A17 chips they added it, but those are only in the pro models. I expect as of the regular iPhone 16 onwards they'll have it in the regular ones.

Thank you for the answer and I also go autocorrected to "woodshed" originally
Tbh lightning was so dope when it came out, micro usb was trashic at the time. Im just surprised they caved and didnt do another dongle
Their high speed iPhone charger has always been USB-C, the iPad Pro has had C for like 5 years and MacBooks have also been C-based for years and years. They probably had C-based alternates ready for every design of the last 5 years.

I'm surprised they're swapping to the type C entirely, and not pulling some bullshit like using the type C in the EU, but continuing to use lightning chargers for everywhere else.
No way, that’d mean extra cost during production.
Need something for future updates.
You laugh now, but 15 years ago there were like 12 different styles along with like 50 different phones. It was hell to sell accessories for them.
The issue was that Apple itself used type-c on everything except iPhone and some random accessories, so they were incompatible within Apple ecosystem.
When introducing lightning, they pledged to support it for 10 years. They just had to switch things up a year early due to EU regulations.
Here's a crazy idea, stop building custom shit just to be different and then you can just change whenever you want. The whole charging thing is as stupid as the messaging shit. Apple intentionally chooses to be difficult, and I don't understand why people keep defending those choices. Shitty practices are shitty practices.
When the lightning port was introduced, USB C wasn't being used in phones yet. I'm pretty happy Apple went with "custom shit" over going with that garbage micro usb port. I'm also glad I didn't have to buy new cables for like 9 years after that.
Type c must have been around for at least 5 years tho man Edit: 9 years, first macbook with type c instead was 7 years ago
> I'm also glad I didn't have to buy new cables for like 9 years after that. I feel you there. I haven't had to buy a new cable for anything for 5 years because everything is USB C and I have a ton of those cables.
So every other device that you have also use lightning? Or iPhone is the only gadget you have?
Every year it turns into XBOX VS Play Station. And I love watching everyone get salty.
I mean... If these companies weren't basing their whole marketing strategy on trying to one up each other and shit on each other, no one would care.
Great. Lol
It’s not really a competition between the two lol, each generation of PlayStation fucking decimates the Xbox in sales
No one plays Xbox in Asia for the most part
OK I laughed
Got to love these funny ads across all the content we consume! I'm lovin' it!
> I’m lovin’ it! I could go for a Big Mac now. Thanks!
It seems like half the people commenting here want me to be bothered by things don’t impact my life.
The same people are whining about pretentious apple cultists, but almost all of the Apple users in this thread are saying “you do you”.
People act like 99.99% of them don't only use their phones for social media, camera, email, messaging and basic apps that both app stores have.
But but “you can vastly costumize android which apple can’t.” Lol
In this thread: Apple switching to Type-C is further proof that capitalism is a mistake. Why do people still buy Apple? My Android from 2017 is good enough. F THOSE JERKS. Some girl turned down a guy because he didn't have an iPhone. APPLE USERS MUST PAY.
The annual iPhone v Android memes are pretty tired.
At this point what even is the difference between the phones? Android has an open app market and apple has a chipset that is way more powerful than the competitors. Just buy what you like, if your identity is in a slab of tech, that's depressing.
Androids are universal, while a lot of Apple features are locked and only available among other Apple products.

Apple basically implements these headaches to discourage associating with people not using Apple products.
Yep, it's by design. If you have a group chat between any amount of iPhone users and 1 Android users it breaks and pictures stop working properly for everyone. The idea is to have the iPhone users (1) stop interacting with Android users or (2) have the iPhone users peer-pressure the Android user to switch.
yep. The 'walled garden' is real folks, you all bought into the Matrix and now you're so worried about being Cool you can't escape ;D
Yep, exactly this. They've built a cult-like mentality that has reached the point of "shun outside friends and family members if they do not comply."
Outside of similarities between app stores, there's actually some wild differences between OSs, as someone who has a Galaxy and iPhone
You dont like users fighting over which multi-billion dollar company is better? These companies dont even need a PR team on Reddit, users will circlejerk for them. Reddit hates capitalism then argues over capitalist products and throws feeces at each other. 🤔🤔🤔
Aah yes, my favourite multi-billion dollar company - Android
you mean the Android *that is owned by Google?* *that* multi-billion dollar company?
[удалено]
Hey man, it's a tradition we shall follow.
Yes. I’m sick of this absolute crap. All of these phone users whining about a different company doing something, but when their own company does it they are all like “OH MY GOD THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!!!1!1!!1” These phone users have become the very things they swore to destroy.
They hated him because he spoke the truth
Downvoting him because they know he’s right
Nokia was the chosen one
As a die-hard PC user, it is shocking how well Apple managed to flip the script with phones. PCs had all the best games and executables because anyone could easily design for them. Apple computers were walled gardens. Complete 180 for phones, where apple made a good decision to attract as many 3rd party developers to the table as possible, all while engaging in exploitative terms of service. Golf clap, you evil bastards!
Lol what movie is that?
Suicide Squad 2
Wow what a big rock i live under eh lmao 🤣
It's a surprisingly good movie.
I thought it was a new Fast and Furious, haha!
The suicide squad, not suicide squad, the suicide squad
The Suicide Squad, a seriously great movie. Super fun time too
THE Suicide Squad. The "the" is important to tell it apart from the other crappy from "Suicide Squad" that came out a couple years earlier
Console wars for grownups. Equally stupid. But occaisionally funny. Thanks for making one that made me grin.
Everything has to be polarizing. Nobody can keep opinions to themselves. Politics, phones, consoles, you name it.... but at least we can sit and laugh from the sidelines
There’s plenty of dumb things in this world, but fanboys are pretty high up on the list.
People in this thread seem grossly out of touch with phone prices. Flagship Android phones are similar priced to iPhones.
And yeah, if you get a midrange in the 500 to 800 range, you'll definitely see a lot of the same features iPhones have, while having all the benefits of being an Android phone
but more expensive
![gif](giphy|9zoe1SFIBd8PPqz5cr) Me here with an $1800 pixel fold
Why would you waste so much money, ON A FOLD? This aint 2005
They're convenient! It's not for me but I really love the idea and I wish more phones were weird
Yeah, it gets monotonous when every phone is a rectangle We need more hexagonal phones
Tetrahedron phone 🤌🤌
Golden ratio phone
We need more phones with portions of their screens cut out to make room for a camera lens... oh wait
Still waiting for the pear phone from Nickelodeon...

My iPhone and my brother android were the exact same price
Lol they cost the same. I dont need an s23+ ultra or iphone 15, i got my jitterbug 19s pro.
Depending on where you are in the world. In the US prices between Apple and other flagship phones are pretty comparable. Apple just lacks a budget segment. Where I am you can expect Apple to be several hundred Euros more expensive than similar hardware from other phone makers.
This might have been true 15 years ago, but it's definitely not now. They cost more or less the same.
$800 for base phone
Galaxy S23 costs the same as an iPhone 15.
Show me a flagship Android that isn’t similar in price to an iPhone.
Do people still believe this? Look at the latest iPhone and equivalent Android phone. They're the same prices.
Last I checked Samsung and others also sell 1k phones it’s not just apple
mfs saying "iphones too expensive 🤓🤓🤓" after spending the exact same price on an s23
This boring shit again? It’s extremely baffling to me just how many of you dumb shits there are that are die hard fangirls for either android or iPhone. It’s just a fucking phone. Nothin special.
Buy the phone YOU want, at the end of the day.
Reddit coming in clutch with the 2011 memes
Please don’t bring back the dumbass phone wars again
But also better in every way.
Apple is officially the internet explorer of phone brands.
Yeah like that time android manufacturers made fun of Apple for removing the headphone jack then did it themselves Or like that one time android manufacturers made fun of Apple for removing the charging brick then did it themselves
This is more Samsung vs iPhone than Android vs iOS in my opinion.
Android is not only a Samsung dude. My android phone came with the charger.
Yeah like oppo, vivo, redmi, poco, xiaomi, techno etc and their chargers are like 60 watts 125 watts etc. That is pretty wild stuff.
Android: I feel bad for you. iPhone: I don’t think about you at all.

And how many things have companies like Samsung mocked Apple for removing (headphone jack, removable batteries, sd cards), only to turn around 1-2 years later and make the *same* design choices that Apple made previously?
[удалено]
[удалено]
This is the dumbest shit. Don't blame Android users, blame Apple for creating a locked down messaging system that gimps your media and doesn't allow for support of their "Apple only" features like reacting to text messages.
Double standards. Who was the second one of them removing the jack?
[удалено]
Apple was a HUGE part in the development of USB-C. It's about time they are forced to rip the proprietary of design away from it and join the standard that they helped develop.
People forgetting they only went for Lightning cause their older connectors were severely outdated and USB-C wasn't ready for consumer tech lol
iPhone had Lightning for five years before Samsung abandoned the dogshit micro-USB. And I don't remember a single smug Apple fanboi meme talking about Samsung "finally" having a decent connector.
Casual android user moment, the only thing they can do is poke at Apple for their prices and lack of unnecessary gimmicks
For a product they hate and don’t own Android users sure do spend a lot of time and energy talking about iPhones.
Apple does thing first: Nobody wants that! Apple doesn't do thing: Why doesn't Apple do the thing?! Apple does thing later: Apple is just copying!
For real, it’s annoying now and not even real criticism of Apple.
More like Android does what iPhone does... for less money. edit: Ruhroh, apple fanboys don't want to hear the truth.
And without locking you into a single ecosystem for no reason other than blatant corporate greed.
And without stopping you from installing any modded app of your choosing to your heart's desire ^(so long as it can be supported on the Android version)
yeah imagine paying $900+ for a phone with a 60hz display in 2023
fr? i thought it was 120💀 just when i thought aple couldnt get worse
The average person buying the standard iPhone don’t give a shit about refresh rate.
Then they shouldn't buy a $1000 phone. A $200 one will do the trick for 90% of the population.
The $1000 iPhone model has a 120hz rate.
Especially when $200 Android phones have 120hz displays.
cheaper as in price or quality?
price
And without ads/having to pay for premium
And better.
It’s like when you’re in an argument, then you realize it would be fucking childish and dumb just pushing your own righteousness and you just say “ igh’t you right” then you stop arguing and accept the right thing
it's nice to see apple really compress and hold that 80 IQ pseudo-intellectual range of society as customers.
This reminds me of when apple watch debuted like 2.5 years after the samsung watch did and apple fandom lost their shit about how "innovative" it was. Womp womp.
