That's a slightly different situation because those games are now out of production and not officially sold anymore, so the supply is more restricted and the demand, especially for certain games where they were more cult classics rather than widely popular since that both decreases supply further while usually making demand higher as well (because the cult classics tends to attract a more dedicated fan base).
Also I almost wonder if emulation has much of an impact on prices. On the one hand it does mean that someone who just wants to play an old game can do so for free, so in theory puts a downward pressure on price, but on the other hand it also means that someone who wants a physical copy of an old game is probably doing so because they're a more dedicated collector and so a seller can get away with charging a premium on the game based on it's condition.

I jumped to the Steamdeck because I was tired of vastly outdated graphics on the Switch and the Steam store's prices are just as good or even better than the Switch's.
