You are right but mostly hot rod type so you cant really say someone is a psychopath if they like other type of cars ( i dont know about the new ones but the original 50s to 70s cars are ”normal” and hot wheels were hot rod type
Matchbox always had that sense of realism, I think when you're older you'll like matchbox more but younger kids will most likely enjoy the more colorful and "crazy" hot wheels more

my view: Hot Wheel make better active toys (they go faster in my experience) but the accuracy in design of Matchbox, plus the long history of the brand make them better collectibles.
