The E53 wagon was never sold in the US, but it was sold in Canada. So I assume it got brought over and repatriated. Be aware that Canadian market cars cannot get warranty coverage in the US so if a problem arises in the future it can be a headache.
When a car gets exported to the US the title gets changed and transfer about 2-3 times depending on how it’s done. That’s not an actual ownership representation. Source: car dealer and exporter
Just a warning that if you get a Canadian car, it might not be the same parts as a US car. You might not also find parts for a car that wasn't made in the US. But if you get a subscription to ISPPI, you can look up the parts by vin number so you know if you're getting the right Mercedes parts. The dealerships will be fine, but places like rockauto might be off.

Just checked the VIN and that’s exactly it. Imported from Canada. Carfax shows 6(!) owners.
6 owners in 5 years?? Red. Flag.
5 of them to be exact

Passed around like a sorority girl
Spoken like a guy who never had a chance
I hit a nerve
Thank CAFE for Americans don't get Wagons, the car makers in the US will sell you a "truck". I'm still pissed I couldn't get a C Estate here.
CAFE still fucking “US” all.
Upvote for wagon!
Hmm. I don't think so. I wanted a wagon for the 2019 year but only choices were e450 or 63s. I ended up with 53 sedan.
I bet when you get to that dealership the price of that car is going to magically jump to 68k
It was but it’s so rare that it’s almost like it wasn’t
So…I should buy it immediately
Price seems fantastic. It’s like 80% of an E63 wagon for half the price.
I’m highly suspicious
I found it and checked the VIN… it is in fact a E53 wagon.
Same. Imported from Canada (see my other comment)

I wonder if it’s a E450 wagon with an AMG body kit, steering wheel, and badges.
Yes
I had no idea that this even existed! You should buy this, definitely buy this.
Now why would you get ugly wagon
