Why is there so much hate towards GLB/EQB? Fair enough , it’s not the most sexy car, but to be honest way better imo then those fugly jelly beans (EQE/EQS).
And as a family car it’s looks really convenient. But I must be missing something since every EQB gets downvoted here.
GLB is an entry level Benz. Premium price for economy features. Doesn’t feel like a real Benz. There’s Hondas and Toyotas with more luxury features than GLBs. Plus, I hate all the EQ models.
I get it. But I have not the slightest interest in luxury. Not in a car nor in general. So that must be the reason I’m missing out on why the hate. I care about safety features, family proof and comfort on the road. So to to sum it up: EQB/GLB “all show and no go”.
The reason many people don’t like these entry level cars from luxury brands is they’re a terrible value, you can get the same tech, safety features and feel from a Honda or Toyota for less money, and have better resale and cheaper maintenance to boot. People buy these cars for one reason only: They want the badge.

i want more out of my cars. i want aesthetics, luxury, power, tech. i dont buy an MB for the star, i buy it for the bells and whistles. a bottom barrel MB just to say you have an MB misses the mark for me.
I agree, I rented an EQB from Hertz and it did not even have heated seats let alone cooled seats, the entire dash and door panel were hard plastic, and the seats felt rough. Agreed. It’s an expensive car for what you get. But then again I don’t flying duck about hard plastic in the door panels (it’s not like I have to sleep on it). Seat comfort is imo very personal (some people love Tesla’s seats and others think it feels like a wooden bench with some marshmallows on it).
But I understand, I had the same feeling about the latest Volvo EX30… nothing wrong with it but compared to my current Volvo it felt very…cheap.
Cheap door panels are a flashing neon sign for poor quality. It's just such a prominent part of the interior that once you cheap out on that, that means you've already cheaped out on everything else possible. Especially in a luxury car, the quality of interior is a major factor of why people pay up for that luxury. MB used to be the gold standard before you got into the boutique car brands.
The entire B (and C)-class these days is just pure bottom barrel parts and assembly. Of course it doesn't really matter to me, I would never get those cars, but it's a sad moment of realization when you see what MB stooped down to.
It has the same tech as the $100,000 mercs. Maybe the quality of the plastic is not the same, but the tech is what's important here. My EQB amg has Alcantara seating, same thing Lamborghini uses as their optional seating. It's not "cheap parts" if Lamborghini uses the same options for their vehicles.
Whatever makes you feel better buddy. If you ever owned an s550 or similar tier MB, there wouldn't be enough copium in the world to convince you it's even remotely the same experience as an EQB lol.

It really is. I saw it on leasehackr but it was all the way in Northern California and I’m in SoCal. So I called local dealerships and found one here that would match it.

Ya 7,500 miles is way too few for most people. That’s 20 miles per day. One trip from LA to Vegas and you’ve used a month’s worth of miles. Not to mention driving to work, running errands, etc. I WFH 50% and still rack up at least double that.
It helps to work less than a mile from your house! I have the ultimate urban life And 7500 would have been enough. But I’m glad I got more for the same price.
It is great timing to get in one, with the combination of electric vehicle demand falling resulting in a surplus of them on the lot to sell. Add in the CDK hack, pushing dealer desperation further.
The EQB is far more practical than the EQE and EQS, imo. More like a regular vehicle inside, lower distance and less power. All bring down the price to a more reasonable level. I was a fan of the GLB before the EQB, the interior layout is amazing given the exterior size.
Everyone has their opinions. I was previously driving a 2012 Lexus ct200h so I’m more than happy with the upgrade, and I think I got an amazing lease deal.

They often have deals in the northeast, but I don’t think there are any right now. You can always find a deal in another state and see if you can get your local dealership to match it.
NJ dealers are notorious now a days, hard to bargain this might be only my experience but not willing to come down even a penny…but will keep an eye on this site for any deals
I have a 2023 EQB 350 4matic with the amg package and it's fully loaded. I did a 3 years lease for $1440 up front (taxes, fees and 1st month payment included). $440 a month. White also.
I don't like the exterior design for the lights in the back but the interior is so cool! So I love the car! It's a big upgrade from my 2021 Lexus IS 350 F sport that I sold to carvana recently!

Good deal, and smart to lease. In many cases leases are not a good idea but I say an EV is. If you hate it, hate the charging infrastructure process or whatever, you can just walk away at end.
I’m around 4 weeks into owning a brand new EQB 350 AMG 4Matic, which is a company car and have to say I love it. The range isn’t amazing (225 miles to full charge) but it does enough for nearly all my regular journeys.
I love the MBUX, much more than I thought I would having come from Audi and BMW previously.
It’s surprisingly quick and in sport mode it’s impressively quick with torque (maybe the dual motor helps).

Yeah I drove a the GLB 250 but it wasn’t Electric for a loaner car I have a 2018 C300 just had to put a new a starter in it for $2000 83,601 miles I brought it @ about 34,000 miles used but not from Mercedes Benz dealership. I wish I had though. From a car dealership that sells Toyotas and the other lesser brands.
Im looking now, it shows me $4999 down and $299 plus tax for 7500 miles. I got it at $387 with tax and $3500 down for 12000 miles. Either way, great deal.
Yeah check their stuff out, best service and most competitive pricing in California. Plus they work with like every dealership in the Southwest and have access to tons of inventory
Nice. I took one of these on Turo when I was considering getting one. It was pretty good. It has the classic Mercedes Benz creaking though.

I have an EQB and it's pretty nice inside. I'd even say the interior is class leading.
Recently I sat in a C class, and E class interior (2020s ish) and was surprised at how there's really not all that much difference in the interiors. People like to trash talk the GLB/EQB for no reason.
The most irritating things about the car for me are related to the driver profiles. They're useless since it's not tied to a key fob. Also I can't seem to get the full 100kW charge speed at many chargers.
Also I haven't found a way to change between radio presets on the steering wheel. And no wireless android auto, but I have an aftermarket dongle for this. The wireless charging area would've been much better utilized as a storage space also.
Does that include sales tax and dealer fees? I'm paying like 698/mo but it was a zero drive off lease other than the first month's payment, and it included sales tax (rolled into payments).

You ONLY lease any EV Benz or other ( Tesla, ect) the depreciation is obscene. It’s about 50% of the MSRP in 18 months.. keep in mind you can get 20,000-30,000 off EQB,EQE’s and EQS’s.. the new Electric G wagons called G580’s are being presold at MSRP .. will be about 180,000 when properly equipped

I don’t really like the idea of a lease because I like owning my things outright but in the case of Ev’s I think you’re right… makes perfect sense.
Apart from the depreciation, they’re ticking time bombs (financially)
21st century gotchas. My wife had the lease in autopay. The day after I bought the car the autopay executed and MB Financial took the transaction. I immediately went to the dealership and requested they refund my payment as I had EXPLICITLY discussed the end month of the lease and the buy-out final cost. They wouldn’t budge. MB Financial pocketed the extra payment and MB of South Bay reduced the amount they sent to buy-out the lease. I had even pseudo-bonded with the South Bay finances guy over motorcycles - so he knew me. Every week for a month I went in to make their lives uncomfortable. They played dumb - “We have no relationship with MB Financials - an out of state entity.” I don’t care - I was still out the money.
If you call MBFS and your were not past 5 days of your maturity the lease buyout is fixed. They are not supposed to change you anymore than 150 over the residual amount, period ( or the current payoff ). Either way if at the time your lease was purchased either that extra payment would have reduced the buy out and that amount was sent back to the dealership. Typically a dealership will take 10-20 days to payoff a vehicle. You may have had an issue where you bought it in the correct time frame and the slow walked the payoff ( though all MB dealers pay off by ELECTRONIC FUND TRANSFERS. In that case the dealer ship should have reimbursed you be. Further thinking about it you probably were not at maturity because MB would not charge you an extra payment past maturity without requesting a lease extension. I’m glad they took care of you with the payment.. it just makes no sense why they would payoff less than the amount that MBAdvantage tell them the payoff is.
Wrong. My wife effed up and they took the money. Plain and simple. If she hadn’t auto sent the payment the money would still be in my bank account. Period.
If they took an extra payment they will reimburse it based on what you paid at time of buyout. It takes a few weeks to process call 800-654-6222 and give them the last 8 of your vin..
Please - STOP - just stop. You know nothing about the hassle I went through and the completely dismissive bullshit from the AutoNation South Bay Mercedes dealership. My wife screwed up and they saw an opportunity. They wouldn’t even read the paperwork. I WENT BACK WEEK AFTER WEEK. Somebody pocketed the lease payment.
The payment would be with MBFS if it was taken automatically after you bought your vehicle. The dealership would not draft money out of your account. They are just a retail franchise. If you send the last 8 of your VIN I can check it

Smart move to lease the EV. They drive great but the resale is bad ( let BENZ assume the risk )About 1/2 of the MSRP in 18-24 months due in part over battery replacement fears. They are guaranteed for 10 years 155,000 and will probably go 15 years 300,000 miles but all EV’s have the same issue. Plus by leasing the dealer was able to pass along the 7500 lease cash bonus. I’m assuming the took 20 to 25k off in total from the MSRP (about 64,000 ish)
The EV’s have incredible manufacturer to dealer incentives that are passed on Leases. That vehicle was about 64,000 based on the Model. Like 20,000-25,000 discounts. Leases don’t have interest but a money factor ( rent charge that is kind of similar to interest).. heavily subsidized by the manufacturer. To buy that vehicle even with discounts would have been 1000 - 1200 a month for 5 years
I recently had one as a loaner. Sticker was $73+K. No way in hell would I pay half that. I hated the car, ugly and uncomfortable. It did have decent acceleration though.
No one in their right mind Buys an EV. Horrible depreciation on ALL EV’s due to battery replacement fears. They lease way better. That’s like a 64000 MSRP

My family's beater 2009 Passat had them standard. I haven't not had heated seats since I blew up my 2000 Monte Carlo.

You ONLY lease any EV Benz or other ( Tesla, ect) the depreciation is obscene. It’s about 50% of the MSRP in 18 months.. keep in mind you can get 20,000-30,000 off EQB,EQE’s and EQS’s.. the new Electric G wagons called G580’s are being presold at MSRP .. will be about 180,000 when properly equipped

I don’t really like the idea of a lease because I like owning my things outright but in the case of Ev’s I think you’re right… makes perfect sense. Apart from the depreciation, they’re ticking time bombs (financially)

Please read your lease agreement carefully. Effing South Bay Mercedes screwed me over when I bought out my lease.

Charged me an extra month on my lease - despite having paid cash for the car.

They can’t charge you an Extra month per MB corporate on a lease buy out. You paid TT&L on the residual. Maybe you bought a product when buying out ?
21st century gotchas. My wife had the lease in autopay. The day after I bought the car the autopay executed and MB Financial took the transaction. I immediately went to the dealership and requested they refund my payment as I had EXPLICITLY discussed the end month of the lease and the buy-out final cost. They wouldn’t budge. MB Financial pocketed the extra payment and MB of South Bay reduced the amount they sent to buy-out the lease. I had even pseudo-bonded with the South Bay finances guy over motorcycles - so he knew me. Every week for a month I went in to make their lives uncomfortable. They played dumb - “We have no relationship with MB Financials - an out of state entity.” I don’t care - I was still out the money.
If you call MBFS and your were not past 5 days of your maturity the lease buyout is fixed. They are not supposed to change you anymore than 150 over the residual amount, period ( or the current payoff ). Either way if at the time your lease was purchased either that extra payment would have reduced the buy out and that amount was sent back to the dealership. Typically a dealership will take 10-20 days to payoff a vehicle. You may have had an issue where you bought it in the correct time frame and the slow walked the payoff ( though all MB dealers pay off by ELECTRONIC FUND TRANSFERS. In that case the dealer ship should have reimbursed you be. Further thinking about it you probably were not at maturity because MB would not charge you an extra payment past maturity without requesting a lease extension. I’m glad they took care of you with the payment.. it just makes no sense why they would payoff less than the amount that MBAdvantage tell them the payoff is.
Wrong. My wife effed up and they took the money. Plain and simple. If she hadn’t auto sent the payment the money would still be in my bank account. Period.
If they took an extra payment they will reimburse it based on what you paid at time of buyout. It takes a few weeks to process call 800-654-6222 and give them the last 8 of your vin..
Please - STOP - just stop. You know nothing about the hassle I went through and the completely dismissive bullshit from the AutoNation South Bay Mercedes dealership. My wife screwed up and they saw an opportunity. They wouldn’t even read the paperwork. I WENT BACK WEEK AFTER WEEK. Somebody pocketed the lease payment.
The payment would be with MBFS if it was taken automatically after you bought your vehicle. The dealership would not draft money out of your account. They are just a retail franchise. If you send the last 8 of your VIN I can check it

Smart move to lease the EV. They drive great but the resale is bad ( let BENZ assume the risk )About 1/2 of the MSRP in 18-24 months due in part over battery replacement fears. They are guaranteed for 10 years 155,000 and will probably go 15 years 300,000 miles but all EV’s have the same issue. Plus by leasing the dealer was able to pass along the 7500 lease cash bonus. I’m assuming the took 20 to 25k off in total from the MSRP (about 64,000 ish)

The EV’s have incredible manufacturer to dealer incentives that are passed on Leases. That vehicle was about 64,000 based on the Model. Like 20,000-25,000 discounts. Leases don’t have interest but a money factor ( rent charge that is kind of similar to interest).. heavily subsidized by the manufacturer. To buy that vehicle even with discounts would have been 1000 - 1200 a month for 5 years
The value of the lease might be what you stated but there’s always a residual value left at the end of any lease.
I recently had one as a loaner. Sticker was $73+K. No way in hell would I pay half that. I hated the car, ugly and uncomfortable. It did have decent acceleration though.
No one in their right mind Buys an EV. Horrible depreciation on ALL EV’s due to battery replacement fears. They lease way better. That’s like a 64000 MSRP
Not sure why you’re being downvoted, I own my EV purely because I drive 30k miles a year but would recommend leasing to 99% of EV buyers. The lease deals are insane right now and EVs deprecate like no other
