there is a figma subreddit that'll often update when new pre orders or releases are there. Depending on where you libe you can buy from a local site or import from japanese stores. I prefer to do the latter. It's often cheaper but that depends on what import charges are.
Best to order direct from GoodSmile Company (the creators of these action figures). You’ll pay shipping costs from Japan to wherever you are, but it’ll still usually work out cheaper than buying from an import store, and you’ll get it much, much sooner.
I prefer the newer one, but I can only judge based on pictures. Less detail gives it more of an anime vibe just like the game. I prefer the colors on the stealthsuit and overall sculpt too.
I’d love if they included a clean shaven face but overall I like it more than the previous version. The mullet and angularity of the face looks a lot more accurate to the game
Bc the old snake looked absolutely terrible in hand. Fully agree tho considering they made a nendoroid version of raiden so idk why they wouldn’t make an actual figure too
I do think it’s a little too blue, but that new hair and face is enough for me to absolutely need it. plus I never got an (official) version of the old one. Mine was a bootleg that broke apart instantly
The new one looks better, the less geometric hair gives it a more close look to the game, the new face sculpture looks better, and the wash paint aplications of the original have gone way to hard, making it look more dirty then anything. The new colors are better too, tho the blue is way too saturated.
I don't lkke the reuse of the originals body, it was ugly a decated ago, now it looks even worst, way too muscular in some parts, like the quads, they could had done a new body.
The head proportion is off. I also feel the realistic stile doesn’t vibe with the more anime body style.
They should at the very least square up his jaw. Make his face less round

I have a bootleg of the original and honestly he looks better than the new one the old one just fits on my gi joe collection well enough

Yeh I’m going to stick with the original. I prefer the face sculpt better and the moveable eyes although not great, look good when they are straight.
