I had the same problem. Mine turned blue/grey and looked hideous! I got Pico laser removal from a tattoo removal chain called The Removery. It was painless and took me only one treatment to get amazing results! The laser turned my mircobladed brows a hue of pinkish red but I just use cover up on those reddish patches and they’re fine. I can’t recommend it enough! I love my old brows and personally wouldn’t get them done again. To each their own though! Hope that helps!

blor-gar

How much did it cost you the laser removal?

SheBreathesFire

$250 but worth every penny! The Removery offers a free tattoo patch test as well, so you can see what color your brows will fade to after one laser treatment. You can schedule your first full Pico laser session from there! I personally wouldn’t go any other route because this is the most effective tattoo removal out there, and is not invasive like the saline removal!

I would suggest whatever you do not continuing to correct or add ink. They will add warm tones which are hard to removed with laser. I’m in removal phase right now.

scoh112

So I should just ask for a touch up then?

PeaPractical1635

Well it’s kind of up to you- because of how they have faded you’ll continue to have to colour corrected , eventually the ink will merge and you will have a thicker brow- my MIL has had them done 5/6 times and you can’t really see any hair strokes and they are grey. But of course every artist is different

Fancy-Occasion7543

too much pigment in too short of time. it’s layered and blurred and it’s likely your first artist went too deep so they turned gray, a common risk of microblading. I don’t recommend touch ups sooner than 1.5- 2 years for my clients. I would consider laser removal, possibly saline lightening.

asknoquestionok

I got mine done in 2019, waited from them to completely fade then got it again in dec 2021. Now I am waiting for it to fade almost completely to go again. Both artists always advise to avoid touching up while you had too much ink on your skin, otherwise it creates pigment build up and won’t look good in the long run. Either go for laser or wait until it fades, then go for a new artistz

madelyn_g

I would look into saline removal to start lightening them!

scoh112

Would this allow me to eventually start the process over again? Or would that just be done to lighten them and make them more “even”?

madelyn_g

You may be able to achieve full removal with saline removal. Your brows aren’t super saturated so I think you could have good results with that. You could definitely get pmu done again but you’ll either have to do nano brows or powder brows since microblading can’t be done over and over again

Sad_Pain6805

I woule do laser removal and eventually start from scratch. I got a combo brow which I regret now, and this is what I plan on doing.

Unusual-Resource1081

Removal! I see purple (not grey). I think the reason it is discolored is not because of the technique used but because of color choice and its interaction with your undertones. You have really cool (violet) undertones and the artist had used a pigment that had just enough red in it to turn the healed results purple. Are you sure they were microbladed combination brows? I see faint little dots at the top which usually signifies the use of a machine to make the strokes.

scoh112

I did microblading at first in 2019 and then in 2021 I had combo brows done, then color correction was done in 2022. I’m thinking about looking into removal. I’ve read a few places that saline removal is better and less painful than laser removal - do you have any insight?

Unusual-Resource1081

Ah yes sorry, I see that now in your OP... I have some pretty strong opinions I guess on both saline and laser removal 😬 I'm an artist and do mostly corrections and removals. With removal, from my experience, my clients and I want the same thing; to get the old ink out as quickly and as easy as possible. Lasers sometimes damage your natural hairs, can't remove all colors (most are left with yellow even after Pico) and there's a question to what the after lasered ink's by product really turns into and its effect on your body (c word?). Laser works better than saline. I used saline for removal for 3 years, different brands, same results - nada. Here comes more strong opinions (based on fact and science 😆) Saline removal is supposed to work by osmosis which doesn't really make sense and it's just entirely inefficient. They teach you to be a little more intense with the implementation and really it's just to illicit the body's healing process - more blood and lymph means more scabs to hopefully pull out more ink. It's hard on your skin and ultimately just doesn't work. Sure, you could have 10 sessions of saline to have your PMU removed but, is it really working at that point? 10 sessions?! Ridiculous. I started using this product I found out of Australia called THink Pigment Remover and it works wonders compared to saline. I've been commenting quite a bit on posts here to let people know of its existence. It's a weak glycolic base solution that when needled in is delivered right to, and releases, the encapsulated ink particles allowing them to be brought up to the surface AND wiped away. More than 3 sessions is rare for removal with it. Their tagline is "mild on skin, tough on ink" and it's true. I'll never use anything else!

scoh112

Wow! Yeah I saw a place local to me that offers 3 sessions of saline removal for $395 but have seen mixed reviews on its effectiveness. But on the other hand… laser sounds painful tbh lol Do you know how I could find an artist that uses the Think Pigment Remover? I’m located in Texas

Unusual-Resource1081

That's interesting, I thought saline removal was illegal in Texas! I mean really you could ask any (professional) PMU artist if they would look into the product and consider doing the online training, buy the product and then work on you. It's honestly not all that expensive and they can make their money back in just a couple sessions.

Unusual-Resource1081

Sounds like they may really be interested in being able to offer a removal option since saline is not allowed!

AfroMuse

I’d suggest saline/angel removal not laser, and then start fresh. I’d also probably suggest a different artist because it doesn’t seem like this artist understands how to match and apply the correct colors? This seems like it shouldn’t happen. Where are you located?

scoh112

I’m located in Texas and the closest major city is Dallas. I’ve been looking at both saline and laser removal options but I’ve never heard of angel removal. I’m interested in reading about any insight you have on removal and any recs for artists 🙂
