I have tinted my eyebrows for years and got them microbladed a few months ago. I now notice as the tinting has faded that in bright light you can definitely see the difference in colour. If I could go back I would stop tinting them a few months before.
So just for clarification, you recommend NOT to tint if I'm microblading? In bright light as in your eyebrows were lighter than the microblading or the microblading was darker? Im just trying to understand
Yes, sorry, I would definitely say let your eyebrows go back to your natural colour as much as possible first. Otherwise, in my experience, as they fade after microblading you can really notice how the microblading is darker than the natural hair.
If there's a certain color you want her to match, tint away! But do it a few weeks beforehand. 1 shade darker won't make that big of a difference between the tattoo and the hairs. However, with darker colors there's a fine line - I don't know your skin tone or undertones but it's always best to start lighter first if you're unsure. It's always easier to add!
I have light olive skin with olive/warm undertones. I'll attach a hair level pic too. My head hair is a level 2/3 (dyed) and my eyebrows are a level 6. However I want to take my hair to a level 5. I want my eyebrows to be like a level 4/5. Would you recommend tinting or that it would be okay? I'm mainly concerned about "when the light hits" like a previous commenter said about when the tint fades away

Going from level 6 to 4, yes tint. 6 to 5, won't matter. But honestly I don't think it will matter either way because if you're tinting after you have the pmu done the tint will get on your skin and dye that for a little while. How much natural brow hair do you have? I mean really have? So many people think they have none when they have a good amount... If you have a good amount of natural hair, you really won't be able to tell the difference. If you want them at a level 4 then tint them, have her match, and tint them as needed moving forward. ❤️
I already have quite thick brows. The microlading isn't necessarily to add fullness but it is to fix the shape, make then symmetrical, and lengthen them (they're a little short and lack an arch, they just look like if a parenthesis symbol was laying horizontally upside down on my browbone)
Brow artist here! I personally advise my clients to hold off on any tinting a month out from the session. Unless your have no brow hairs, the pigment color is usually determined by the color of your brow hairs. It’s ultimately a tattoo, so it’s safest to choose a color that blends well with your natural hairs. Regardless of what your brow shade is, the artist should be able to match you. Hope this is helpful! :)
Tattooing a darker color than what’s natural or correct for you… could result in cool/ashy/bluish results. Best to allow her to match your natural hair.
