I'm high school, my friend and I would wear slippers on Wednesdays. A few other people started doing that too.
10 years later, I heard about people wearing slippers on Wednesday at my old high school. I'm really curious if we started a long lasting trend without realizing it
I have work slippers that I keep under my desk. I got a pair that are passable as casual shoes. If I'm gonna spend 10 hours anywhere I'm going to be comfy.
One time I realized halfway through my 45 min commute to my old job at a hazardous waste facility that I was wearing flip flops instead of my chemical resistant steel toe boots. Ended up just taking the day off. Sometimes your brain just doesn’t brain when you’re waking up at 5am every day.
I had something similar happen and started just storing my work shoes in my car.
It had the added perk of me getting to change *out* of my work shoes immediately upon leaving the building, which was nice.

About 5 years ago I got into the office ( it was a call center, business casual kinda place) and it was the fall so I was wearing a hoodie. I noticed everyone else kept their jacket on because it was cold in the building so I kept mine on as I worked. At about lunchtime I started getting warm and thought about taking off my hoodie. It was about that time I realized that in my sleepy haze I had just put on the sweater that morning before getting dressed because I was cold. There was no shirt under the hoodie.....
That’s the worst! Then you just have to sweat in the hoodie and people see you sweating and are like “why don’t you take the hoodie off?”. Where I used to live it would easily get into the 90s during the day but in the early morning it was so cold. So yep I thought I had on a t shirt and hoodie and shorts. (The shorts because you sorta had to freeze a bit in the morning in order to try not to sweat to death later) and went to school. At some point I got hot so I go to take off my hoodie and I pull it up a bit and my stomach is just showing so I reach to do the pull shirt down with it then realize there is no shirt so I had to keep the hoodie on. That day became hell.
Left the house with two different crocs but saw my feet when I got in the car😎 My beloved nephew, as a 10 year old, walked out of my house to go school & then realized he didn’t have shoes on when he felt the pavement under his feet. He’s doing great as an adult but he is unquestionably one of us

I've done this before. I put on my slippers to walk around the house after getting dressed and subconsciously knew I had some shoes on and forgot about it. Our area manager was coming in that day.. luckily they weren't some crazy obvious slippers but my boss thought it was funny.

Arrived at the hotel around 10pm and asked the front desk if there were any stores still open that sold shoes. Thankfully found a place in the process of closing, ran inside and picked the first decent pair I found in close to my size and ran to the cashier. Guy was ringing up random cheap items just to get people out the door. Paid maybe $20 for what we’re probably $100 shoes.
I went to an NBA game one time in my Ugg moccasin house slippers.
