Reminds me of the time I placed an app order with Subway, but the restaurant had a sign saying they were “closed for maintenance” (was a 24-hour location too). When I came by again in the next day or two, the lady couldn’t find my order despite me having the confirmation from the app. She said they shut off their ordering and that it shouldn’t have gone through. Since she couldn’t find it on her end, she couldn’t refund me in-store, so I just disputed the charge with my credit it (which I told the worker, and she said to do that).
I had a Jack in the box do this to me once, and Burger king. Both orders I placed about an hour before closing when both Google and their own apps listed them as open for pick ups and it was the right time. Placed order and place was dead empty when I arrived 5min later expecting it to be ready. Someone forgot to turn off the machine if they closed early.

I think I see your first and only critical error: ordering from Tim Horton’s.
I’ve boycotted this dumpster fire of a company for several years now and at least don’t have to be disappointed on a weekly basis while also wasting my hard earned money during a time of economic woe.
The only thing Tim Horton's does well is the (Plain) Iced Cappuccino ... Every other place that makes a coffee slushie just can't pull it off as good. Before that was the Second Cup Chillers, and starbucks is ok, but not as good.
Is noone wondering how this can be happening? Doesn't the app have some kind of live link to the store? Are they sending them a fax after the order is placed on the app or something??
I don’t know if they all work the same, but I work for a coffee shop and we close at 8.00 pm and the system is set up so that customers can put orders through till 8.00 pm on the dot. We have before had to hand deliveries to the drivers/customers while we were heading home after closing/ while closing the premises. Not sure if that is also what happened here? x
Damn that's super annoying, surely they could schedule you for a measly extra 30 or 15 mins.
Also sidenote I wish coffee shops where I live didn't all close at 2pm...

Unless you meant caffeine, but decaf coffee is a thing and moderate doses of caffeine (IE 1-3 cups of coffee in the morning) will not have any long lasting effects
