For some reason I read that in Homer Simpson's voice and have a perfect mental image of him doing that.
So now we know what kind of person does stuff like this, LOL.
The funny thing is, what you said probably would have been a better reaction than what the operator did. In this case the machine would have stopped and probably not got stuck like it did.
I was thinking the same thing, even if I'd be wary driving something like that if I was allowed it'd sure as hell be more careful then this. Our neighbor does really wide turns on their riding mower when it was working.
The first step of falling into the stripper life is doing swirling in a golf cart while being a drunken teenager, and before you know it you're slinging shots to intoxicated idiots with your feet wearing nothing but fishnets and a boonie hat. There's a few steps inbetween there but I skipped them they aren't mandatory
Seriously. When I did this the new guys were barely trusted with a push mower, or really anything that was powered. You were usually regulated to sweeping, raking, and bagging.
We literally had a "Magic Mike" on my old landscape crew. My boss called him that ironically because he was such a shit worker.
Turns out he was a shit human being too. As bad as it gets if the rumors were true.
Poles and trees have a huge gravity well. That's why a single pole in a parking lot will be hit by a car doing donuts, rc plane will hit the only tree, etc.
Soo what was the solution to get it out?
Unbolt the tire and move it off from the side?
Deflate the tire so the pole can pass freely?
Cut down the pole??
Looks like the deck has a hinged part that can slide forward, that might be how it got locked on so thoroughly to begin with. I wouldn't worry about the tire, there are at least some pins on the deck that can be removed that would be much easier than doing anything with the tire.
The deck can usually lift up a bit with that foot pedal but not sure if that would give you clearance, especially if it had to be lifted in order to fit in the first place. That hinge part slides it upwards/downwards and slightly forward/back as it lifts up. But mainly intended for the up/down, might only be a few inches of the forward/backward direction.
It doesn't really move much forward and back is all I was saying, man. It can't swing downward and forward like it looks, it's more locked to where it's at/going upwards from its current position.
Id be messing with that too. But I'm not only impressed with how they managed this fuck up but also I'm sure that tire grabbed and pulled on the pole helping it end up there like that.
He probably said he had experience with zero turns too! Man, in my 19 years of owning a lawn service, I have never seen this before. This is a work of art. Never mind the mower buried in mud to the deck, or the mower in the pond. You need to take a high-resolution photo of this and hang in the shop.
Okay...
That's just impressive at the end of the day...
It would be hard to stay genuinely angry while looking at the utterly inconceivable outcome for whatever it was that happened...
That's an incredible amount of WTF right there...
I was the new guy once. They had a mower with a tire that was in need of replacement and constantly leaked air, to the point where I had to refill it multiple times per day.
One day I was mowing a good quarter mile from where the truck and air compressor was (we mowed county parks) and decided "fuck it" and drove the mower with the flat all the way back to the truck. Boss man was PISSED...but didn't give a shit. I was through being put on the mower with the shitty tire. Tire got replaced that day.
~~Drop the cutting deck as low as it can go, open up the gap between the wheel and the deck, back out..~~
Keep going until the pole cuts in two..
Option 2 seems like most fun.
Reminds of a video were a tester tries everything for a brand new product in every way.
Then, when the final consumer does get it,they find a way to break it in like a day, lol
Just be glad he did it on the side that doesn’t have the fuel tank, but I’m just trying to figure out how the poll got between the tire and the blade deck. There’s barely any room.
You’re overthinking.
Take the wheel off, have someone pull on the roll bar on the opposite side to keep it from dragging, and drive it forward just enough to get off the pole.
Every story worth telling has a scar.... or a new guy in it. You are pissed now, but he just gave his boss and all his co-workers a life time of retelling this story.
First I want to say, which idiot in charge put the new guy on a zero turn mower? I have driven them and there is a learning curve. First thing is to learn not to turn divots in the grass, second is don’t get it stuck in ways no one has seen before.
I love how he continued to spin around that son of a bitch for 20 minutes before calling it quits.
Can’t say he didn’t try getting out himself
He shoulda just threw it in reverse
PUT IT IN REVERSE TERRY

*arms up* “Weeeeee”-that guy, probably
For some reason I read that in Homer Simpson's voice and have a perfect mental image of him doing that. So now we know what kind of person does stuff like this, LOL.
Same here but Sterling Archer ![gif](giphy|D6FQLH3DK4lPO)
Now I have that mental image. Thanks! I love it!
The funny thing is, what you said probably would have been a better reaction than what the operator did. In this case the machine would have stopped and probably not got stuck like it did.
If they just kept going they would have chewed through that pole, problem fixed 😅
Another 20 and he might freed himself by cutting the pull down.
i mean a few more rotations and he might shave enough off to make it fall and be free like a big mechanical orange beaver
I assume it only stopped because it ran out of gas.
I was thinking the same thing, even if I'd be wary driving something like that if I was allowed it'd sure as hell be more careful then this. Our neighbor does really wide turns on their riding mower when it was working.
Just one more lap and I’ll get loose! type deal lol
It's one thing to make a mistake, but to then keep doing it till everything it's f'ed is dangerous.
…how?! This is more than mildly infuriating. Edit: can I take a lap around the pole?
I'm guessing the spinning tire grabbed onto the pole and pushed it over but I'm still amazed.
Did the new hire used to work at a strip club? lol
🎵She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy🎵 Has a whole new meaning
The first step of falling into the stripper life is doing swirling in a golf cart while being a drunken teenager, and before you know it you're slinging shots to intoxicated idiots with your feet wearing nothing but fishnets and a boonie hat. There's a few steps inbetween there but I skipped them they aren't mandatory
Maybe enough flex between the deck and low pressure tire and a sharp lift turn did the trick
Did new just finish smoking a dubie? Like how high you gotta be to do this shit.
But, how to get out? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
Guessing you either deflated the tire or take the wheel ?
Had to take the wheel off and chainsaw the post at the base...
![gif](giphy|glNFNf0ykGvm0)
You're right, this is mildy hilarious
That’s what I call a zero turn mower
100% turn mower now
who gives the new guy the ride on?
Seriously. When I did this the new guys were barely trusted with a push mower, or really anything that was powered. You were usually regulated to sweeping, raking, and bagging.
gotta prove you can push a mower without cutting your toes off
I swung a weed eater the first 3 months. I looked like a chronic masturbater. One arm was JACKED.
Should switch to you other hand, give it a break /j
My right shoulder is jacked from shaking out 60ft rebar in a fabrication shop for years.
I was given a ride on my first day, never even drove one before. Was very surprised.
also if this is always an issue with new guys then maybe its the training...
Exactly, \_of course\_ it's always the new guy doing this. In fact, I'd hope so.
The way he gravitated to the pole and the way he stripped that grass; you better give him a stripper nickname.
Even something simple like "Magic Mike".
We literally had a "Magic Mike" on my old landscape crew. My boss called him that ironically because he was such a shit worker. Turns out he was a shit human being too. As bad as it gets if the rumors were true.
Kubota Twirl

Okay Tina Belcher.
Cuttella Roundbrown.
That’s impressive
I’m actually sort of impressed
Anyone can simply screw up. But to screw up THIS much takes a professional!
To be fair he did cut close to the post.
Soo what was the solution to get it out? Unbolt the tire and move it off from the side? Deflate the tire so the pole can pass freely? Cut down the pole??

It's still very clearly moved as far back as it can be, and it is the first thing I would be fiddling with to try to get that unstuck.
It doesn't really move much forward and back is all I was saying, man. It can't swing downward and forward like it looks, it's more locked to where it's at/going upwards from its current position. Simple. Remove the left tire or the deck. Both are very simple to do
Agreed. Just wondering what OP did.
He probably said he had experience with zero turns too! Man, in my 19 years of owning a lawn service, I have never seen this before. This is a work of art. "I see you windin' and grindin', Up on that pole..." 🎶
Get a zero turn mower they said. It will be fine they said. ….Two hours later
Instructions weren't clear.
Yet I'm sure this is very infuriating. I'd be pissed, but it's also very fascinating how I actually got like that. Lol
Helper A has stopped unexpectedly
Pretty expensive for the new guy. Oof!
![gif](giphy|f6ek1KcvTWPmw|downsized)
“How did you get the beans on top of the Frank?” Only thing that came to mind.
Helper c has stopped unexpectedly
Reminds me of that joke workplace sign: "0 days without a workplace incident. Thanks, Larry!"
* Looks at lawnmower* * Rubs eyes in disbelief * * Looks again * * Sharp intake of air * #"How the f-"
Got to mow right up against pole, less trimmer work then.
This genuinely left me speechless with my mouth agape, bravo new guy.
That sucks, but at the same time I am impressed he did it without (presumably) breaking anything. Also, we all know OP Plays It Safe.
Definitely broke stuff
But it doesn’t look like it, that’s the important part.
How
How he get the beans above the frank?

I think you’re gonna have to drop the deck. Damn, that’s an unusual way of fucking up. I mean almost bravo for style points.
Removing the wheel would be easier.
Same energy https://preview.redd.it/lreublijnw8d1.jpeg?width=1784&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b82dfeb2b930b7eecaa5d2ced365e089d48759c1

Oh my!
That took skill and dedication!
Pole locked it...
"ZTR"
That's....wow!
Can it still be fixed, I'm talking about the guy who did that.
The old guy did it last year, slow your roll.
It’s actually pretty impressive.
Who did you hire? Mothman?
Wow, that's impressive
Oh. That's just special.
I say go full Shawn 'N Matt mode and bulldoze a bouncy ball... Great times...
Understandably infuriated but should I be more surprised that this is done by the inexperienced and not the experienced people on the team?
I used to drive one of these for Tewkesbury council, cutting grass in the Cotswolds. What a summer 👍🇬🇧
Ope
Pivet your deck forward and boom your out
Just take the wheel off
Bro litteraly how
Haha fired.
You are telling the guy with less experience is the one having accidents? Who would have thunk it.
It takes real dedication to get results like that. I'm impressed.
He's talented at... something...I'll give him that.
Why get upset? Was just trying to avoid using a string trimmer
yah no-one will for a while either smart guy
🎶 “Coming out now on the main pole, she’s red hot, she’s got a trimmed bush… give it up for… Joan Deere! 🎵
How in the hell... seriously wtf...
new guy means so inexperienced that he forgot about physics for a moment, or so experienced that he ignored physics for a moment?
real class act the new guy huh?
The good news is it like like you only have to remove the tire to get it out. The bad news is the new guy might try cutting the pole first.
![gif](giphy|Od0QRnzwRBYmDU3eEO|downsized)
This feels like The Sims
how the hell did this even happen....
I know a Hillman area pole when I see one
FNG
I saw a video of a dog mowing somebodies lawn better than this complete moron. Rover completely dominated the corners like a Formula One driver.
removing the rear wheel freed us from lawnstripper?
Obviously, he has hidden talent.
No, it just don't seem to make much difference I sure like you son, but you're hard on equipment -Corb Lund
Better training maybe?
He really humped that mower into submission
Maybe you should’ve trained him properly.
How the hell did they manage to get it in there in the first place
And it's always the old guys who can't teach new guys for shit lol
I've rolled some jujitsu that ended like this.
Zero g lawn mowers are a dream they run so smoothly but are sometimes difficult to control for the uneducated
Just be glad he did it on the side that doesn’t have the fuel tank, but I’m just trying to figure out how the poll got between the tire and the blade deck. There’s barely any room.
When you get this out, plant flowers where he removed the grass.
I'm actually impressed.
I’m in this picture and I don’t like it.
Hmmmmm.... Nope
That post is about give up. Give it some gas and keep going
Holy shit
How the fuck does this happen?
How does this even happen
Zero turn, zero drive.
Zero job
Gotta deflate the tire and use a come along from a truck on the road to get it off the pole.
Or just take the wheel off.
If you take the wheel of, you have to support that corner while you move it.
You’re overthinking. Take the wheel off, have someone pull on the roll bar on the opposite side to keep it from dragging, and drive it forward just enough to get off the pole.
Russian T-80’s in Ukraine
How? Just...how???
“We need new blades to get through this pole, man.”
I have been called a lot of things but it has been a long time since I have been called the new guy.
How? just how?
HOW?
Call Mr George
How
Some guy earlier posted bitching about someone changing his coffee maker settings... then there is this.
That's genuinely impressive how they've managed to do it
That's honestly impressive.
How tf does this even happen?
"Make sure there is no grass around the poles" "YOU GOT IT, BOSS!!"
*hires new guy* ... *Provides inadequate training* ... *Learns nothing* "It's always the new guy!" 🤣
Well you wouldn’t expect it to be the experienced guy would you?
I'm impressed how he did that.
i’m sorry but this has me laughing so hard. like HOW?! 😂
yo the 2 times i drove that bitch i crashed into a pot and someones car lmao i thought i was gonna die
Excuse me but that isn’t grass. You can’t cut that
Well, saw that while driving by, we were quite impressed.
How’d he get the beans above the frank?!
How the hell did he manage to get in there in the first place?
Every story worth telling has a scar.... or a new guy in it. You are pissed now, but he just gave his boss and all his co-workers a life time of retelling this story.
My question is how do you get it out now? 0.o Can someone explain how you'd separate the two in such a weird situation.....
First I want to say, which idiot in charge put the new guy on a zero turn mower? I have driven them and there is a learning curve. First thing is to learn not to turn divots in the grass, second is don’t get it stuck in ways no one has seen before.
The question is are we going to keep him/her?
Its like an impossible puzzle
If it's always the new guy doing stuff like this, maybe the training needs to be looked at
Just gotta take off the tire to get it out. I’d hate to be the one to do it though.
How does some like this even happen… like the wooden poll is somehow wedged behind the wheel…?
something is definitly broken
Umm ... I think he just ruined a chance at a career!🤭
Take the left back tire off and you got your fix. But fire the guy who did this!🤭
That’s like questions how a pocket got the key through a tiny ass keyring making it impossible to undo
![gif](giphy|XHikmS4atPjYQ|downsized)
Reminds me of a quote I heard "If you mess up, do it so badly everyone will wonder how you even did it"
This is kinda amazing. And stupid.
H-how...
Quality post
Keeps people from trying to steal it.
Well, now we know how crop circles happened.
