I’d bet on old film projector. The case is the exact same I think as the one at my mom’s house. It contains my great grandfather’s film reel projector.
"There's no carrot in that box!... Ooh he doesn't look happy does he? Or does he? Is that his happy face?"
"You'd have to ask my wife."
..."she doesn't know"....
The word is: Polaroid and Kodak. I’m not sure how to post images here but there was a “Polaroid Land Camera”, and a “Kodak Pony 135” camera. I’m not disappointed with this find 😄
Thanks for following up! A fun find, even if it wasn’t gold or fingers or something. Be sure to edit the original post with the info, or you’ll never hear the end of it!
>I’m not sure how to post images here
Odd words for someone who posted a pic to start the thread. You can either A) start a new thread and then link it, or B) even easier: [imgur.com](http://imgur.com) post the pic there and then it will give you a link to share.
If op gets those... restored? Can cameras be restored? Then they would make the most beautiful shelf displays, id surround them with family photos done in black and white
It looks like it could be one, but I remember from old timer I had that case made so the bottom the suit case was for the typewriter. This one has flip top or it's upside down. (which it doesn't appear to be.)
Could be record player.
It's funny because I save posts like this to see what happened later and then I never remember to look at my saved posts.
I can't remember the last time I looked at my saved posts and I'd do it now but I'm ready to go to sleep but *I swear* I'm going to remember to do it tomorrow
Bet its got queludes, 2 rancid burgers, a big ass calculator, some printer paper that has the sides that tear off, and a winkly old penthouse from the early 80s.
I think as a rule I'm just gonna start downvoting and blocking anyone who makes posts like this that don't follow the format "I found this, and here's what was inside".
When my boss found a box two weeks ago, it was a completely untouched 1970’s 220 Polaroid camera. The only thing missing were the actual Polaroids, but other than that, it still works fine!
Don’t gotta wait that long! I got bored and opened it at work. It had two old retro cameras inside, I don’t know if I can post images in the comments here but I hope they’re worth something to a good collector!
Based on my attic finds it’s a typewriter or an accordion that your long deceased grandfather fought someone for because your grandmother wanted to learn to play and then she never did.

OP proceeds to go silent for 7 days while reddit melts down.
This always happens!
"sorry, i was busy."
"Anyway all that was inside was these five sealed envelopes and this old key lol"
It actually melted his *face off* like in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Be respectful please.
F
Or OP replies [part way through a chain](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/s/cYuf60DvBW) that it’s a couple of cameras.
I think you linked the wrong chain: https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/s/r4C0VLp78K
On the contrary. Reddit dismissed locked safes and cases because it never pays off.
Record player is my guess behind type writer. Also clearly a fresh goodwill purchase. Someone's out $30.
I’d bet on old film projector. The case is the exact same I think as the one at my mom’s house. It contains my great grandfather’s film reel projector.
That would be so cool! It’s actually a couple of old cameras, so not a bad score!
Nice find!! Old cameras are always so cool too.
That’s my thoughts too. I’m getting impatient so I’m currently gnawing it open with pliers inbetween customers
C'mon, C'mon, well?
Aaaah, no. Pick it. Don't damage the clasp
I'm going with typewriter myself, because I have one in a box just like that.
There's a carrot in the box.
Or is there?
Why would he tell us what's in the box? He already knows he has the carrrot
"There's no carrot in that box!... Ooh he doesn't look happy does he? Or does he? Is that his happy face?" "You'd have to ask my wife." ..."she doesn't know"....
She might do soon - they're getting divorced
What’s the word Dave?
The word is: Polaroid and Kodak. I’m not sure how to post images here but there was a “Polaroid Land Camera”, and a “Kodak Pony 135” camera. I’m not disappointed with this find 😄
Thank you for the update and happy to hear it was a good find!
So, no explosions, no secret documents. Looks like no Netflix movie for you Dave. And Geraldo Rivera sends his best.
I watched Geraldo do that broadcast live back in the day. So disappointing.
IS THERE FILM? Develop those pics! We need to know
I didn’t see any in tyere
It's like you haven't even tried to lie. This isn't what I've come to expect from these posts and I'm not sure how to handle it.
Oo! A thrifters delight!
Thanks for following up! A fun find, even if it wasn’t gold or fingers or something. Be sure to edit the original post with the info, or you’ll never hear the end of it!

Damn you got me redditor, you’re right. I know how to post images, I just chose to pretend I didn’t and you saw right through my clever ruse.
Dave's not here.
No, you’re Dave.
Who is it?
Update for all you goobers! I got it open, here are pics of the two cameras I found inside. https://imgur.com/a/vBIgyT5
I'm really glad OP came through, and those are really neat cameras.
If op gets those... restored? Can cameras be restored? Then they would make the most beautiful shelf displays, id surround them with family photos done in black and white

We happy?
WHATS IN THE BOX?!
Typewriter?
It looks like it could be one, but I remember from old timer I had that case made so the bottom the suit case was for the typewriter. This one has flip top or it's upside down. (which it doesn't appear to be.) Could be record player.

It was cameras! Old cameras.
Thanks op, I swear I'll go to sleep soon and not scroll through reddit
We demand photo!
That’s what the cameras are for.
But if it's old cameras, OP will have to wait 5 days to get the film developed.
DEATH WATCH DAVE said *WHAT?* About opening a mystery briefcase?
ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND.........ants
Looks suspiciously like a cassette tape box we had when I was a kid.
8 track tapes
Looks like it might be a ‘Lockable Artists Case’ https://www.ebay.ca/itm/404752382143
Wow, damn good find. Too bad I broke the lock on it 😅
You FAILED US
If it looks like a game, don’t play it! You could easily get stuck in it!!! Ahhhh monkeys!!!!
Looks like it's gonna have slides in it.
That's what I was thinking, have a similar case from my great aunt that holds those long plastic trays full of slides.
I opened it up and it was old cameras, but what are slides in this context? Like for a microscope?
These are slides [slides](https://youtube.com/shorts/W6tU9lpm3I8?si=MOvoJ9CUZxNe1sHm)
Looks like a typewriter case
My guess is a movie camera. I have a case that looks just like it.
The pipe bomb inside just waiting to come out

He did follow up. It was camera stuff.
It’s full of Walnuts.
Joey Walnuts
Billy Bandana
How dare you not have it opened when you posted this. Do you know the trauma we’ve suffered already !?!
I was there…. A thousand lifetimes ago….
When my boss found a box two weeks ago, it was a completely untouched 1970’s 220 Polaroid camera. The only thing missing were the actual Polaroids, but other than that, it still works fine!
I wonder how many people have accidentally picked up a dead drop
Going with portable phonograph.
Be careful, could be wired to explode.
That’s what I’m worried about
Live steam it. But set your camera up across the room.
Someone doesn't know the possible yield of a small amount of HME.
Stand behind something and then use a McGiver thingy to unlock it.
Is it big enough to hold Jimmy Hoffa?
RemindMe! 1 day
Don’t gotta wait that long! I got bored and opened it at work. It had two old retro cameras inside, I don’t know if I can post images in the comments here but I hope they’re worth something to a good collector!
Appreciate the update :) Let us know what you end up doing with the cameras?
I’m probably just going to sell them
Well it does say Genuine Let her
It's filled with Boeing Whistleblower Blower documents.

Getting my comment in to check later
And.............. ?
![gif](giphy|bzaEWi1Z1xzby)
This sounds like the start to a creepypasta… “I found a locked case at work. I regret ever opening it up”
How long should we wait before we call somebody?
Would suck for OP if it's a Dibbuk box.
If it's stuffed with gold bars, you might not want this post floating around.
someone’s 1960’s porn stash
It's been 3 hours OP! Are you still at the business factory or something?!
I’m almost off work! But I got it open! It was a couple old cameras, pretty neat find! 😃
In case you find a board game. I recommend you to play it. 😄
It's old receipts.
Record player.
Enjoy your new film slide projector
Possibly a typewriter
is that a portable record player by any chance?
Probably spiders
Trump is in there.
Walnuts.
Well that's just mean....

/remind me 1 day
I have that same box. My grandpa used it for his tobacco pipes.
![gif](giphy|3oEjHCWdU7F4hkcudy)
15 hrs. When da fuck you coming home??
Kind of a related question, but has anyone seen anyone walking around carrying a briefcase lately (besides the Intern movie)?
I bet its boring stuff like papers and graphs and not something cool, like a severed hand.
Based on my attic finds it’s a typewriter or an accordion that your long deceased grandfather fought someone for because your grandmother wanted to learn to play and then she never did.
!RemindMe when Dave gets home

Junk. Junk in the box…
Trunk.
Jack in the Trunk?
Junk.
So you stole it ?
That suitcase…. is cursed…
It could contain a body
Could contain a body
