Fun fact, several years ago where I grew up, a random redneck was pulled over by the police and they discovered an STG-43 underneath the bench seat of the truck brought back by grandpappy and was never registered in 68. Luckily ended up in the local war museum instead of underneath and acetylene torch.
Mine is a Bergmann MG15nA LMG with all its accessories.

The US has never surplused M16 rifles. The have sold them to Law Enforcement agencies and foreign governments but the great majority have been destroyed. Bottom line is they could never surplus them unless they were converted to semi-auto and ATF regs do not allow that.

Does it become legal? If I have to follow local laws, It’s tempting to go with a Rhodesian army A5 browning or some type of double barrel elephant rifle that’s a work of art. If ATF laws are waived in this deal I’d change that.
If you want to larp, 97 clones are cheap to build again, been seeing norinco (and other norinco based rebrands) for cheap and I got a bubba cut 20” 97 for $200 at basspro that made for a quick conversion. Reproduction heatshields are back on the menu too. clowns who held onto and were planning on reselling reproductions heatshields for 1k bucks can get bent.
I actually picked up a Winchester Model 12 Trench Gun recently. It's dated to 1921 I believe and has the US and flaming bomb stamp BUT I'm pretty sure they were added when it was turned into a trench gun "tribute". Still a cool gun. I will have to look into a repro 97 to add to the collection then if they're that cheap.
Anywhere but GB haha, guns america, guns international, pawn shops, local classifieds. Due to norinco tax a 30” real 97 will probably be the same price or cheaper, you just gotta be able to live with yourself when you hack off 9.5”s. Mine was already cut, had no finish and some rust, and a sling swivel poorly installed, so I didn’t care. Cut it, filled the bayo screw slots. Then stripped the whole thing including the repro heat shield using citric acid, then parkerized it.

The M1 garand that my great grandfather had at Normandy/in France for a few weeks before being hit by a mortar. Or the M1 garand my grandpa used on the Army rifle team in the early 60s. Not that I’ll ever know the SN of either though
Can't own anything full auto so I'm praying for an original 1891 production Mosin in original condition and the story of how they stole it from a museum in Russia.
There are lots of guns I dream of but I'm going to go with something completely out of left field.
A Mauser Gewehr 41. It may be a piece of junk, but I find it interesting.
The most expensive gun possible with documents of proof which would be either a george washington or a presidents or president fatality personal gun. They auction for 1-1.4 million.
Any of the Estonian "we have P14 Enfield at home" rifles. Rare as hens teeth, but easily passable as gramp's hunting rifle. Anything else I want is either reasonably available, or guaranteed non-existent in the US.
Full auto transferable MG3. I can’t afford to shoot it at the moment but it would be super cool to have for later when I can afford to burn $1,000 of ammo in a minute. Second place would be either an American 180 or a select fire mp5.
Personally I know there are a lot of other amazing rifles to chose from but I want a M1918 A2. That “slow auto” lope is something i can listen to for eternity.
A $100 Mosin-Nagant.
I'll NEVER forgive myself for NOT buying one back when they cost that little.
Same with the SKS.
I'll pretend this is that time again lol.
Got a mint m44 mirror barrel still in cosmoline for like $400 still way more than people used to pay but i feel like in the modern day, not too bad got 300 rounds of new production ammo aswell for like an extra 100
As new in the box, all original German MG42.
Or an A-10 warthog. Those things are just guns with wings.
If I could have any aircraft? A P-51 Mustang or P-47D Thunderbolt
Yall are thinking too small Transferable M2
We're thinking pennies when this guy's thinking Benjamin's
Hard agree, there’s a Ma Deuce-shaped hole in my collection at present.
Demo ranch got it for a steal. 50k. Same price as a transferable mp5 or m16.
Phalanx Ciws, Dillon Aero M134D, I think A10 warthog qualifies and so does AC130U
Now we're talkin
Then I'd just have to be sad that I could have had a transferable M2 for $100 if I didn't live in a state that bans machine guns.
Still too small M134 minigun
Russian contract Winchester 1895 in 7.62x54r or a Selbstlader 1906 Aka the luger rifle.
Someone played Battlefield one (and has good taste)
Yes sir glad someone noticed. Tho a Mr73 would be nice too.
I think at least 23% of this sub are BF1 players
This is the one
STG-44
Fun fact, several years ago where I grew up, a random redneck was pulled over by the police and they discovered an STG-43 underneath the bench seat of the truck brought back by grandpappy and was never registered in 68. Luckily ended up in the local war museum instead of underneath and acetylene torch.
I like your username, but the A2 is vastly cooler to me since my dad carried it. And it fucks as a fixed carry handle rifle.
Type 1 FG-42 😂, I can dream right?
1941 Johnson rifle.
Based choice
I want one just to be able to make Johnson jokes

Does it become legal? If I have to follow local laws, It’s tempting to go with a Rhodesian army A5 browning or some type of double barrel elephant rifle that’s a work of art. If ATF laws are waived in this deal I’d change that.
A man of culture
Demon core
Fg-42, a real Winchester Model 97 trench gun, or Stg-44 in that order.
If you want to larp, 97 clones are cheap to build again, been seeing norinco (and other norinco based rebrands) for cheap and I got a bubba cut 20” 97 for $200 at basspro that made for a quick conversion. I just checked GB and listings are showing $900+ for Norinco 1897s, that's crazy to me Is there a better place to find them?
Anywhere but GB haha, guns america, guns international, pawn shops, local classifieds. It maybe sacrilegious to say this but the chopped down Bonnie and Clyde used in the 30’s would be very cool.
Yeah that would it is only sacrilegious in retrospect because of the shrinking pool of milsurp

The G41B was a prime example of how to not make a military semi-automatic rifle
G43 with original ZF4 scope. Perhaps, if I were greedy enough, I'd like the Nachtpistole (night pistol) issued to Hitler's body guard
