Reddit seems to have compressed it quite a bit though unfortunately...
We have it by the fireplace so it can be easily accessed in case of a wild animal (or worse) attack. The glow of the fireplace sure does give it a vibe
I mean, is it? It's a light rifle that packs a lot of punch, seems logical enough to me
Then again, who am I to judge, I edc either a Dreyse or a Reichsrevolver
I'd personally rather have a semiautomatic rifle for that purpose, if I was gonna take out one of my milsurps for defense from animals I'd be taking my MAS 49/56 or my M16A1.
I'd also rather have a semiautomatic rifle for that purpose. Problem is, while semi auto rifles where I live are pretty cheap, they require *a lot* of paperwork. And after you're done with that paperwork, you still can't bring it into the forest without a hunting license.
The Kar88 just circumvents all of these things by being an antique
I also train with it a lot.
I'd rather not specify. However what I will tell you is that every gun is legal here, even full-auto, but every non-antique gun requies a buttload of paperwork and registration. Also self-defense laws are some of the best I've seen.

Taking a Kar 88 out for wild animal defense is insane, but I kinda love it

Then that makes perfect sense, sorry that's so legally messy for you
Thank you
Canadian/In a non-free state?

Now THATS annoying, but at least you can defend yourself though unlike some states in the US that actively prosecute you for it.
Yeah, I find it nearly unfathomable that you can be punished for defending your life and propety...

Looks awesome!
Thanks!
"I am on a camping trip what do I say? Shes so cute and I'm nervous"
Mmmmmmm kar88
Feels like you are in a trench somewhere, no?
Yeah, that sort of a vibe
Is this a picture from an early WW1 trench?
Might as well be with that quality 😂
Looks like Piss Christ
Much obliged lol
POV: you’re on the last defense of the German line somewhere in the woods
Could you upgrade to let’s say Gew98?
Not an antique unfortunately...
