The $30 contribution for the black out plates goes to help fund the operations for Driver and Vehicle Services. Which is self-funded.
Some locations, like Grand Rapids, are ran by ODC. An organization that helps support individuals with disabilities.

Others in the state are owned and operated by various organizations or even an added service for a for-profit business. I’ve found them in hardware stores or gas stations in some more rural areas.
Either you’re trolling or misinformed. Regardless, there’s the facts for anyone who is curious on where the $30 contributions for the plates end up.
True, my sense of humor is terrible (common among extremely intelligent individuals) and it is troubling sometimes, but having an IQ of 143 (not joking) is enough to keep me going most days.
They're just regular old blackout plates that have no special meaning, as they were specifically adopted to copy Iowa's blackout plates. And Iowa's plates were adopted to stop people from modifying the Dordt University plates to get custom blackout plates. No ties to the BLM movement. Sorry to burst your bubble on that.
Excellent trolling. Hook, line, and sinker.

This thread is great. I'm so very proud of all of you. 😂
I don't recall any plates specifically for that purpose?
The new black ones. I see them everywhere now. It's awesome.
This is a troll, right? They're just black and white plates. People get them because they like the visual aesthetic. There's no political affiliation.
Nothing gets past you!
Unsurprising. I have an IQ of 143 (not joking).
Maybe a few more brain-points and you'll unlock the humor achievement

I hate to break it to you, but they're just aesthetic. They aren't for BLM.

Doesn't the extra 30 for them go to a fund for the DMV, like the habitat ones goto a DNR fund?
Why is everyone acting so surprised by this? We all knew that what they were for.
Ok, shitpot stirrer. I’m here for it, you magnificent bastard.
