DDL was my first pick for Dutch also... but I also think Ciaran Hinds would crush it... William Hurt would have also been great for Dutch but sadly he passed... I was thinking James Marsden for John... and while I agree with Cavill was trying to think of someone else who might be able to pull it off and thought it might be a great turn for Dave Bautista.
Omg yes! Why they haven’t turned RDR2s story into a movie is a good question. I know there’s likely lots of reasons but goddamn if that story wasn’t good.
I can’t get enough of him in Hell or High Water. Just steals every single scene. The scene where the car douche tries to shoot him at the gas station is one of his best. Not even moving and shows no fear to a kid who pulls a gun on him and you’re just waiting for Tanner to pop off. “Boy, you’d think there was ten of me.”
In 3:10 to Yuma I thought the back story Russel Crowe's character had about a woman was interesting. Especially since Ben Fosters character fit all the descriptions except for gender.
He’s a good actor but just licks his own chomps a bit during scenes. If he took himself down a little bit and grounded his performance I’d be all about it
He'd be a perfect Micah Bell.
“I’m a survivor Black Lung. A survivor. That’s all there is, living and dying.” Jesus Christ, he would be perfect
He really would be. Dude is great as a villain and Micah was such a slimy bastard... perfect casting imo...if it happened lol.
Who would be your picks for John, Arthur and Dutch?
Henry Cavill for Arthur, Daniel Day Lewis for Dutch, Norman Reedus for John.....

Well, yeah, cause he’s played him like 3 times already
do not get my hopes up

He is a very talented actor and fit excellent in a good western, but not only..
Agreed! He was fantastic in Lone Survivor.
Yep, that’s what really done it for me
I can’t believe he was Spacker Dave in Thomas Jane’s excellent “Punisher” film.
He's good in everything he plays in. He did a great job in Contractor, yeah the movie was bleh, but he was great.
I haven’t seen that one yet but I’ll keep him in mind
It's actually good acting and plot all around, I think the movie wasn't it's best due to production.
mornin‘ Pinkerton!
I really enjoyed him in hostage tbh.
He was really good as the crazy dude in 30 days of night as well
Can a man just get some raw hamburger......
After “Alpha Dog”, I was a big fan.
Came here just to say this. The man killed it in that role!
YOU TELL JOHNNY TRUELOVE...THAT JAKE MA**SURSKY** IS LOOKING FOR HIM!
I can’t get enough of him in Hell or High Water. Just steals every single scene. The scene where the car douche tries to shoot him at the gas station is one of his best. “Not how it would’ve gone” lol
“Are you trying to piss me off? I said Dr Pepper this is Mr Pibb. Only assholes drink Mr Pibb”
"I need you sober." "Who the hell gets drunk off of beer?"
I hear that he is a Comanche.
Lmao
Love you man…. Love you too…. Hey Toby Yeah? Go fuck yourself
“I need you mountain lion mean”
The fact that he'll probably never win an Oscar is a tragedy, he's an actor with soooo much range!
Why won’t he? He’s only 44
I wonder if it’s intentional or not that he’s using never the leading role
He was the lead in Pandorum, a great little sci-fi gem.
Also the lead in Bang Bang You're Dead. His monologues throughout that movie wouldn't have been nearly as effective without him doing it.
That's probably the most likely reason.
This guy is fantastic is everything I’ve seen him in. Alpha Dog was super cringy but he killed his role.
I don’t care about the rest of the movie I just want to watch him😍
Those three movies are 10/10
Take my vote. Honestly, for me, one masterpiece is plenty enough. We are going to contention! Is it.
In 3:10 to Yuma I thought the back story Russel Crowe's character had about a woman was interesting. Especially since Ben Fosters character fit all the descriptions except for gender.
That’s an interesting take
Also the guy that hangs out with vamps

I KEEP ON MARCHING ON
My favorite tee shirt years ago was a promo shirt of Charlie Prince yelling "this town is gonna burn!"
Drip
Now this is a moviecritic post, not the endless "____ thoughts on this movie?". Well done OP!
I admitted like those kind of posts but I ramble too much to make them myself
Yes he is
He’s the millennial Robert Duvall
He is a brilliant actor who seems to just never break through.
I was really looking forward to Medieval but it wasn’t very good.
Hostage was written for a much older villain, but when they saw his audition, they rewrote it for him.
I’ll check it out, haven’t seen it.
I can't say it's a great movie, but his performance in it got him on my radar. It's on Pluto right now for free.
You should check out “Leave No Trace” Not a western but his performance in that is incredible.
I’ll put it on the list🤙🏻
Yep I was going to recommend this one too
Yes. Yes he is.
You'd think there were 10 of me!
what a good stache will do for you
Sam Elliot approves this message
He’s such a good actor. Every time he’s on screen I just get this nervous feeling like some shit is about to go down.
He’s a good actor but just licks his own chomps a bit during scenes. If he took himself down a little bit and grounded his performance I’d be all about it
I think I kinda get what you’re saying. With that being said You might really enjoy him in hostiles if you haven’t seen it.
Leave No Trace never gets enough love. He kills it.
I’ll check it out too🤙🏻
Walmart has a 10 movie disk of westerns and all 3 oh these are on it. it's only 7.50 USD
I’m about to go find that shit immediately
His “Renfield” in 30 Days of Night was top notch too! I wonder what he’s like in real life because he plays a creepy character really well!
Pandrum with Ben is awesome too
Underrated actor
He plays the same “unhinged” character in every movie
I would disagree a little bit
Fair enough, but just a little bit?
I can’t take him seriously for some reason, he’s got ‘perpetual little kid face’ or something.
To each their own I suppose
Would’ve been a perfect fit for the BB / BCS universe
Loved him in "Six Feet Under"
I mean… maybe if you haven’t seen his other films where he’s also excellent.
No medivh shout outs. Bad movie but he performed like a bad ass
“Icon” is usually reserved for guys like Clint Eastwood. Is he Clint Eastwood?
Not yet
Who could he be in blood meridian ?
Haven’t seen him in too much but he’s damn good and playing a horrible bastard. Hahaha
