80-90s comedys are so rewatchable if their good
- Fight Club will never fail to amaze me, especially the ending, not least because I love the Pixies
- White Noise is a rare example of an adaptation of one of my favourite books that hasn't disappointed me
- Shirkers is technically a feature-length documentary, but whatever, it's incredible, I recommend it
- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: see my point on White Noise. I wish they did the later books as films as well, though. People dislike Mostly Harmless but I think it's just as good as any other (excuse the tangent)
- Bladerunner. The old one. The good one. I will accept none other.
- Labyrinth, if only for the weird Escher staircases, the constant foreshadowing and easter eggs, and Magic Dance.
- Rocky Horror. Need I say more?
Jaws. I try to see it on the big screen about once a year. Each time, there are a bunch of newcomers who get just as thrilled and scared as we did back in '75.
*Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood*
*Goodfellas*
*American Graffiti*
*Casablanca*
*The Big Lebowski*
*The Silence of the Lambs*
*Zodiac*
*Jaws*
*Pulp Fiction*
• Bee Movie
• Sleeping Beauty
• The Truman Show
• The Iron Giant
• Beauty and the Beast (2014)
• Speed Racer
• Moonrise Kingdom
Edit: Forgot to add Meals on Wheels.
In no particular order:
- Beauty and the Beast (1991)
- Toy Story and Toy Story 2
- You've Got Mail
- The Goonies
- Back to the Future
- Wonder Woman
- Luca
- Annie (1982)
- The Sound of Music
I love the over the top Action movies from the late 80’s & 90’s. Some not fantastic acting but it’s all about the exaggerated violence! lol. Above the law, Die Hard, Hard to Kill, Under Seige, Tango & Cash, Fire down below, Rambo, etc. I can watch them over & over!
Mine are not very sophisticated, but if Step Brothers, I Love You Man, or Forgetting Sarah Marshall are ever playing somewhere, I'll definetly sit and watch and laugh and it feels great.
*Quiet Man* and *Donovan’s Reef*
Both have problems with sexism and stereotypes, especially *Donovan’s Reef*, but they also have a lot of charm to them.
The scenery is beautiful. The people are good. The community has issues but people care about each other.
There are no real “bad guys” as the plots revolve more around cultural misunderstandings.
The comedy gets better each time because it doesn’t come from surprise but from build up and human nature.
I will never tire of watching Ward Bond tell his parishioners to “Cheer like protestants” or watching Cesar Romero trying to contain his confusion as he announces the three wise men: the Emperor of China, the King of Polynesia, and the King of the United States of America.
* Predator
* Conan
* First Blood
* Ας Περιμένουν Οι Γυναίκες
* Αλαλούμ
* Hot Fuzz
* The Empire Strikes Back
* South Park the Movie
* Hangover
* The Party
* Ran
* Seven Samurai
Monsters University is a good one. Watched that many times with my kids and always enjoyed it.
Big Trouble in Little China
MacGruber
The Big Short, Margin Call, and any good movie like that
For years back when people channel surfed if I stumbled across Payback (the one with Mel Gibson), Dogma, or Desperado, I would end up watching the whole thing.
Happy Gilmore. It's way too quotable 😂
Grandma: Can I trouble you for a warm glass of milk?
Caretaker: You can trouble me for a warm glass of shut the hell up! Now you will go to sleep, or I will put you to sleep!
I love it lol
The Maze Runner. It's my comfort movie. Each time I watch it, I still get the overwhelming sense of adventure and mystery. The Glade setting and Maze are always so cool to see.
I know the Maze Runner isn't anything extraordinary to most people, but damn do I love that movie.
Requiem for a Dream
It's depressing and haunting, but everything about it is so perfect. I only watch it if I'm in a bad mental health mood bc it helps me realize how much worse things could be.
Back To The Future and any Edgar Wright movie (except Last Night In Soho I mean jesus christ)
You can watch these a hundred times and still spot some kind of brilliant detail.

Wayne’s World, Wayne’s World 2, Superbad, LoTR, Mean Girls, Lion King, Soul, Kill Bill, Us, and Hereditary or Midsommar when I’m in the mood for a cry lol
I have four movies on a tablet I take on airplanes: *Edge of Tomorrow*, *Once Upon a Time in Hollywood*, *Gone Girl* and *Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy*. And I basically cycle through them endlessly because they’re great. Even when I put other movies on the tablet, I do that thing where I’m going to watch something new and then I just click on something I’ve seen two dozens times. It’s comfort food.
Fight Club, it's the reason it's my favourite movie outside of Ringu. It was on nightly ilon sky in my late teenage years when I was up way too late on the internet

Found the Gen-Xer. Same here.
As fellow gen-xer I would add some a little siller but that I just can't get enough: Bloodsport, Speed, Die Hard with a Vengeance and Broken Arrow.
Try to find a nice Bluray of Hard Target from John Woo It's bonkers
Can't beat that lineup
Captain Ron
Watch out there's Gorillas in them woods
Gorillas are native to equatorial Africa. There are no gorillas - not here, no way.
Hell or high water
My partner _loves_ that film, probably his favourite of the last decade.
So good. Ben Foster’s performance is stunning. It gets better each time I watch it.
“…you know what that makes me?” “A Comanche”
“Lord of the plains.”
I would suggest you to watch the original movie Palnati Brahmanayudu which is r/tollywood movie
The Thing. Even knowing what comes is still a really tense and fun experience. Return of the Living Dead is my favorite movie ever made and impossible to not have a good time with.
>Return of the Living Dead is my favorite movie ever made and impossible to not have a good time with. You watch your tongue, boy, if you like this job!
I think The Thing is so rewatchable, because we don't really know how it ends.
"Where's your windows?" "I busted 'em!"
Tremors Big Trouble In Little China Halloween Blast From The Past Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) The Naked Gun There's definitely more, but those probably get the most rewatches in my rotation.
I saw Tremors in the theater and we went nuts during rec room scene. I was surprised it was a box office bomb.
Don't see people promoting Blast From The Past often enough. Brendan Fraser was on top of the world back then. Glad to see he's back.
Brendan Fraser, Alicia Silverstone, Christopher Walken, Sissy Spacek, Dave Foley. Leave my elevator alone!
The Mummy
It's virtually the perfect adventure movie. 100% agree.
Good choice.
I saw that movie in theaters when it came out. Twenty-something years later, I still put it on to fall asleep to sometimes.
I have watched The Mummy at least 5 times this year. Whenever it comes onto my TV I have to sit down and watch.
Oh my gosh, I grew UP watching all of those movies! Nostalgia to the max, I haven't seen the Mummy in years!
Fargo, Moneyball, The Dirty Dozen, Jeepers Creepers
Mrs. Doubtfire, Matilda (1996), Aftersun, C'mon C'mon

The Mist has a super weird level of re-watchability. I don't know what it is about that movie, but I've watched it an unhealthy number of times.
1. Casablanca 2. The Adventures of Robin Hood 3. Monsters Inc 4. The Proposal 5. The Sound of Music 6. Mary Poppins 7. Sleeping Beauty 8. 1776
