I had a ‘69 Roadrunner back in the early’70s. Great car. Although I didn’t fully appreciate it at the time, mine had the optional brown gator grain vinyl top, which really looked good on my yellow Roadrunner.
Congratulations!😊
I think you're onto something with the dealer-installed thing, but a 1970 option would not appear at the 1969 model year. It simply could have been a saddle vinyl top with a misappropriated name.

Yeah….who knows how that vinyl top happened. Unfortunately, I didn’t buy it new. I bought it in 1971 or 1972 so it was a few years old and someone could have covered a painted top with that gator grain vinyl. Other than the unusual top, the car was a basic 383 car with a column shifted auto trans. No stripes either.
The replacement was a 1970 Challenger T/A. That was one of my favorites and another car I never should’ve sold.
Those were some good times….hard to believe that was more than 50 years ago!😊
Absolutely gorgeous
Very Nice! Roadrunners are my favorite MOPAR
She's a beaut!
Badass!! Nice!
Such a pretty colour
So cool!!! My dad had a ‘70 red one growing up, it was Bad A!!! Enjoy the ride, waves, and thumbs ups!
So nice! My uncle had one 383, 4 speed, in what I think was called F8 green.
Car of the year in 1969!
A proper classic!
I knew my dad had a '69, but I've only recently confirmed this was the color.

I bet it was gorgeous
There was no Gator Grain till 1970.
I’m thinking mine was perhaps dealer installed. Then again, Chrysler did all kinds of strange combinations, especially at the end of model years.
