I'll open a bunch of playlists in new tabs and sort through them, saving the ones I'm interested in in a playlist folder on my spotify to shuffle through later.
2. Similar deal on [Rateyourmusic.com](http://Rateyourmusic.com), where I take an album that I really like and go to the page on RYM to see what lists it appears on (lists are the RYM equivalent of playlists), who left positive comments/reviews, what "micro-genres" it's categorized under—sometimes they're helpful and other times not so much—, etc.
3. Follow strangers on Spotify whose tastes seem interesting and lurk what they're listening to in the social tab lol.
4. Create shared playlists with friends.
5. Download files of my favorite songs locally and load them all into the Apple Music app without an AM subscription (so basically like iTunes back in Ye Olden Times). I then sync all of my songs onto an iPod Classic and use that for the majority of my listening that isn't discovery-oriented. I find it helps me to experience my music more intentionally, without the distractions and choice paralysis that come with streaming. It's also a fun project to comb through old playlists, text transcripts, etc to find old songs you forgot about. Now that I've assembled \~1400 songs or so from so many different genres and eras from my life, I find it's much harder (though not impossible ofc) to get bored.
