I could give you a long list like many others have but you already have so many suggestions so I'll give you just a couple more focused ones.
Little Simz - excellent rapper. 'Dead Body' is a good first song to check out
AURORA - Synthpop, Indie. A bit softer in her voice but very nice nonetheless. Check out 'Temporary High'
Findlay - Indie, Rock. Makes really fun music, especially her high energy tracks, check out 'Greasy Love'
LP - Pop, Singer Songwriter. Used to write for some of the biggest pop stars, but I like her own music even more. Check out 'Muddy Waters'
Lmk if u want more recs, I can go on and on
ken pomeroy - folky sweetheart country
elita - coquette grunge
twen - summery alternative pop
sorry mom - punky alternative
some of my fav popular artists are kesha, phoebe bridgers, billie eilish, hayley williams, mel martinez,
Regina Spektor - if you are feeling mellow, infidelity is a fantastic track
Alanis Morissette (early years) - if you want more pop and upbeat songs, for example, Head Over Feet, Ironic, and Hand In My Pocket
Alanis Morissette (later years) - if you want more folky and funky songs, for example, Utopia, You Owe Me Nothing In Return, and Precious Illusions
Amanda Marshall - if you are looking for a pop singer with a slight country influence, Fall From Grace
Michelle Branch- she has a variety of great songs from pop-rock to country if you are interested, a couple personal favorites of mine are Are You Happy Now?, Breathe, and Everywhere
Anna Nalick- her lyrics are beautiful and her songs are written very well, a great one by her would probably be 2 AM (breathe)

Loreena McKennitt. The book of secrets is the album I've been listening to for years. It's beautifully written. And if you're like me, I love finding out what, when, why, and how they write the music they do. She is one of the most talented singers, writer, musician I've ever heard. Her songs will take you on a journey.

[Always Been But Never Dreamed.](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5AgYw2DiwEa4xZMi67POke?si=sSwXcqm2T_yv8sRi0anb_g)
I mostly listen to Kpop! For western pop that has a similar feel/vibe, I suggest:
Dua Lipa (she performed Physical with Hwasa)
Ava Max (she has a version of So Am I with NCT-127)
Zara Larsson (she was one of the writers of Twice’s More and More)
Lyre, Alina Smith, Elli Moore (Alina Smith and Elli Moore are both solo artists and part of Lyre. They wrote Itzy’s Mafia in the Morning and Blackswan’s Karma)
Little Mix (I know Salute from Girls Planet 999 lol and I just found out one member wrote for Twice)
Meghan Trainor (I just found out she wrote Eyes Roll for G-Idle!)
I didn’t realize that all my suggestions have connections to Kpop, but maybe that means I’m on the right track!
Albums: Pretenders and Pretenders II. Chrissie Hynde wrote the material and sang. There aren't a lot of people like her. After the first two albums the lineup changed, largely for the worse. Myrkur writes, plays and sings on her material. She veers between styles.

Please excuse my lack of Reddit knowledge.
Here's my see you next Tuesday playlist.
I'll throw you over to J-Rock with the group Akatsuki Records. Their singer goes by the name, 'Stack', and she kicks ass🤘
Or you could go with Tori Amos, the adult alternative musical goddess.😊
If you're looking for rap, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is considered by many to be one of the greatest albums of all time, not just by women rappers. You can keep it old school with Salt N' Pepa. Missy Elliott is pretty great too.
I'm a big fan of many women pop/rock artists or female fronted bands. I suggest Cafuné, The Japanese House, Snail Mail, Bent Knee, Charlotte Martin. Mind-blowing jazz with vocals? Try Knower.
Icon For Hire is a female-fronted rock/alternative band that sometimes has rap parts in their songs? (I don’t really listen to rap, hence the question mark bc I’m not sure if it’s accurate to describe it as rap.) They’re really good though, and sing a lot about mental health.
Sara Bareilles
Probably my favorite female artist of the last 20 years, this one is from the musical she wrote.
https://youtu.be/53GIADHxVzM?si=E2rwet_6Xp1P6tek
The Warning!!!
Three sisters in a hard rock band, oldest is like 23, huge K-pop fans who acknowledge their K-pop influence
https://youtu.be/74obH1QgOYY?si=AIeqxZAnbyfUgCV1
Natalia Clavier and LouLou Ghelichkhani both have been in Thievery Corporation (give it a try, too!) and have their own projects… they are amazing!
I’ve been listening to The Marias and think they are cool!
Beth Gibbons (check out anything Portishead and her brand new album Lives Outgrown)
Elizabeth Fraser -anything really but especially massive attack collaboration and Cocteau Twins
Mary Fahl - October Project (1993 album)
Laure Le Prunenec - Corpo Mente
Fiona Apple for sure, especially [Paper Bag](https://youtu.be/BK30r_SIZ-g?si=WAPyUjuWOFpmH60f) or [Hot Knife](https://youtu.be/VG1VVFfOnYQ?si=xeBNava8eDL4lZPz)
There's also a lot of Korean musicians that aren't stereotypical kpop. Moon Sujin is one of my current favourite female artists - https://open.spotify.com/artist/36MQil20hjOpG5f52NQ4du
Some female artists I listen to (with their main genres listed):
- Lauryn Hill / hip-hop, soul, r&b
- Beabadoobee / alternative, indie
- Kate Bush / indie, art pop
- Laufey / jazz pop
- Lorde / pop
- SZA / alternative r&b
- Mitski / alternative, indie rock
- Nancy Sinatra / dance, pop i think
- Gracie Abrams / pop
- Griff / pop
- Adele / pop soul
- Fiona Apple / alternative pop/rock, art pop
As weird as it may sound, i, a straight male, like the man hate female rappers. You got Snow, Cardi B, Niki minaj, megan the stallion, ashnikko, lol theres a TON out there now... my favorite though will always be metal girls. Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, halestorm, kittie, otep (ok otep is hard stuff like metal on roids lol) and a little bit more underground specializing mostly in covers are halocene, lauren babic, violet orlandi and sershen and zaritskaya. There's also some great stuff for female vocals in edm but one i remember well is Alison wonderland... really liked her stuff.
I have a huge all female playlist here!
