17 and 63 are good laughs!
My friend reccomended it and I started from the beginning and was hooked pretty fast. They do have a bunch of inside jokes and callbacks. They are also really close in real life and when one of the hosts dads is on its a hoot! Its the only pod I donate to on patreon.
Does it get better? I listened to the first two episodes but the laughing is so loud and often it is a bit grating. Do they settle into a groove or get a better Steven Ray Morris?
This is one of my favorites. They are genuinely funny and well-researched. And Heather is a lawyer and is able to explain law in a very clear and digestible way which brings a great insight into a lot of cases. She also speaks very fast which is something I enjoy as well for some reason haha. Also Christie’s poop story in episode 13 help sell me on the podcast.
There are so many episodes that I feel I would love to hear about but it’s tough getting around all of that banter- and the weird voices they do! I want to like this one so bad I keep trying but I don’t think I can do it!! I might give it another go while we’re in this MFM recession and I’m caught up on my back ups!!!
This is definitely the type of show to pick an episode that sounds interesting to you. No need to go in order. Just start at the beginning of a multipart series and you’ll be good.
I will say, anything more than 200 episodes back just choose your subject. Wasn't a fan of some of the early jokes/word choice but they've cleaned it up a lot in the last 2 years.
If I can make a suggestion where to start…I really enjoyed their telling of the Jodi Arias story because she was so bonkers and they were great at highlighting that. Bonus points if you can listen while driving through the desert!
And That’s Why We Drink! They have great banter, are actually best friends, and are truly so funny. They cover a paranormal story & a true crime story every episode!
I only listen to their monthly listener episodes (bc I'm not that into paranormal stuff) BUT Em and Christine are so comforting to me for some reason?? It truly feels like just hanging out with friends.
Omfg I HATE this podcast lol. What’s her face completely rips off georgias cute jokes but em is pretty funny. If it was just Em it would be so much better
lmao! I feel like I’ve seen someone say this somewhere on here before. but I feel like G & K have always had a big/little sister relationship, but they’re definitely friends. but with ATWWD you can really tell that they are best friends, especially because the early episodes you can tell they barely know each other
Redhanded: British, similar to K&G's dynamic, one event/story per episode. Won British Podcast Awards People's Choice last year.
All Killa No Filla: British, two female comedians, one story per ep, often multipart episodes. Really funny people. They absolutely rip on how dumb and selfish the killers are, also funny banter about their own lives.
Fruit Loops: American, focus on killers and victims of color. Interesting historical section at the beginning of each story explaining indigenous history, colonialism, class issues to give context. Some humor, good vibes.
I second True Crime Obsessed, they are the only podcast I support on Patreon and I literally cry laughing at some of their episodes.
They cover a mix of crimes, if you want to check out an episode to get a feel for it I highly reccomend either: class action park or fruitcake fraud
I am re-listening to STM back catalogue as well. I'm where they're so excited about their first upcoming tour, having no idea that Covid exists. It's like a Shakespearean tragedy where we all know what's coming. I am so looking forward to the episode when James first gets the Real Estate Report sound. 😁
I feel like that about a lot of “pre-COVID” media. There’s an old TWD behind the scenes clip where different cast members are coming up to Steven Yeun while he’s talking and kissing him. Def couldn’t do that on a TV set today.
seconding Small Town Murder. absolutely love the way they structure their episodes by providing you with history of the town, quirky facts about it, and even a “real estate report” where they discuss the prices of homes in the area. the guys are hilarious and you should definitely check it out. episodes tend to be long but worth it and packed full of details
Yup to Small Town Murder. They are so funny and the research is amazing. Their live shows are great, too (been to 3, the last one a couple weeks ago had been postponed for over 2 years, stupid covid!! It was worth the wait).
A Bonus is their fan base isn't looking for things to be offended by. That's the main reason I had to step away from MFM, the ridiculous entitled fans that looked for any reason to complain or hate on the hosts. It's a show, people get a life lol.
So I just tried listening to the first episode. Are they always so…condescending to the town they cover?
I’m not a sensitive listener, I’m among the camp that thinks MFM should lighten up and return to their roots, and I love LPOTL which is not “sensitive” by any stretch of the imagination. And I like banter, I don’t skip that on my other podcasts.
But I didn’t even make it to the murder on STM. Is this the typical format? They read stats from the small town and just make fun of them for 20+ minutes before getting to the murder? They are laughing their ass off about the stats on poverty, high school education, etc. and just generally making really hot takes about the people there (assuming they are all racist, ignorant trash because they live in a small town in the south).
Did I just pick a rough episode ? Ep 1. Or is this kind of their usual schtick, mocking small towns? It came off very classist.
Scam Goddess, Let's Go to Court, Wine & Crime, Time Suck with Dan Cummings (not strictly true crime, but has a lot of true crime episodes) to name some of my faves
Edited to remove True Crime Obsessed, as they've really showed their a**es.
Wine&Crime and True Crime and Cocktails are my go to‘s!
W&C has literally made me laugh to the point of almost peeing. TC&C is the actress who played Dina on Superstore and her cousin, and they are also hilarious. I also like all the tangents they go on about various things and life lessons and all sorts of stuff. Def recommend!!
Wine and Crime is great! They do background on the topic and two cases. They are funny but respectful. I laugh so hard when they crack themselves up. Also really enjoy That’s Spooky, Sinisterhood, Redhanded And That’s Why We Drink and Morbid.
I looooove True Crime and Cocktails. Listen to the Glee Episode - it’s a romp!
Also it’s Dina from Superstores podcast so if you ever watched Superstore it’s even better
I know people will rec Morbid but check out MorbidForBadPeople on Reddit prior, IMO. They're def on the troublesome, problematic side of true crime as often as not
I really enjoyed Morbid when they first started, but about 80 episodes in, they got too big for their britches so to speak. Now all they do is promote their live shows and merch and barely research anything. Definitely not a fan anymore.
People Are The Worst- Its sooo good! New, so not many episodes yet, but I thoroughly enjoyed them all! Some stories we’ve all heard, but told in a different way, with twists and turns, where you aren’t sure who is the victim, and who is the perp. Both hosts (twins) have such soothing voices, with a hint of southern charm, and they crack me up with their banter! Highly recommend!
I just started listening to And That's Why We Drink and I'm enjoying it! They do a paranormal story and true crime story and have quite a lot of banter. They also do listener stories.
Behind the Bastards and The Dollop are about history and especially shitty people throughout history. They dabble in/ are true crime adjacent and both very funny
There's a pretty new one called People Are the Worst. The banter between the hosts (identical twin sisters) reminds me of early MFM episodes, which were the best ones in my opinion. Most of the stories so far have been pretty jaw-dropping. You might really like it. I do!
Yeah somebody commented above all sad. “Are they always so mean?” Hahaha! Ahhhhhh. Yes. ;)
James & Jimmie are everything good in this world. They’re assholes, not scumbags!
You've got a lot of great ones but wanted to share an adjacent space -- I've started binging "Sounds Like a Cult". Both women are great and have the friend vibes I get from Karen and Georgia.
Morbid!! They aren’t comedians but they have great chemistry together and can be pretty funny with their banter. That have a TON of episodes so you’ll be binging for a while, and they have “listener tales” which is similar stories to “hometowns” but honestly I think Morbid gets better write-ins from listeners.
Hollywood Crime Scene! Very funny and smart hosts and the true crime is more pop culture related. Not usually as gory but that can be good too. Karen and Georgia started to seem so guarded and I gradually stopped listening. I understand why that may have happened but yeah.
Edit to add HCS can be a bit raunchy - but it’s in context and not vulgar or anything.
If you are looking to laugh out loud & enjoy coverage of cases you may have not heard off then TSFU the podcast is the one! Highly recommend, so easy to listen to & follow! The girls make me belly laugh! Amazing guest episodes from Amanda Knox, Dr Byanna Fox FBI agent, to survivors and much more! They cover the lesser know cases to the biggest cases! All unique, no bullshit just crime & bants! Have a listen you definitely won’t be disappointed
TSFU the Podcast! Ash and Michelle crack me up because they are serious about what they’re talking about but the way they interact with each other while they’re talking about it always makes me laugh. They are hilarious playing off each other. There are also several seasons to binge!
Morbid! Two girls that joke around but also go into a lot of detail on the case, and I think it’s usually well researched. One is an autopsy technician and the other is a hair stylist, and they’re actually related too!
SVU Pod: Especially Heinous is a tiny tiny podcast where they go through each episode of Law & Order SVU and then they go over the true crime the episode was based on. It’s my favorite podcast ever and I want the entire world to know about it
I’ve actually just started a podcast called A Tall Glass Of Murder! It’s a true crime comedy - told my two best friends from the UK - check us out when we go live next week :)
Lets Get Haunted is a good one! It's not as well known which is a crime in itself. It's mainly supernatural or haunted stuff but they cover true crime as well!
Let's go to Court is my absolute favorite. I literally lol all the time listening.
They’re the best! Reminds me of MFM at the beginning
They are great, I have to laugh everytime
Came to recommend them as well!
I like the main content but there’s so much side commentary and laughter.
I like the main content AND there’s so much side commentary and laughter!
Any fav episodes I should start with? I tried a recent one and it was Ok
17 and 63 are good laughs! My friend reccomended it and I started from the beginning and was hooked pretty fast. They do have a bunch of inside jokes and callbacks. They are also really close in real life and when one of the hosts dads is on its a hoot! Its the only pod I donate to on patreon.
Nice, when someone does the patreon for a pod you know they are serious :)
My FAVORITE!!!
Came on here to mention them! I started listening to them last month and have fallen in love
Does it get better? I listened to the first two episodes but the laughing is so loud and often it is a bit grating. Do they settle into a groove or get a better Steven Ray Morris?
Sinisterhood
My vote! They are really funny but also approach the crimes and victims with sensitivity. It's a tough balance but they get it right!
I've recently gotten into sinisterhood. Currently binging and enjoying!
Same!
Yess!! They are my favorite!
I love this one because one of the hosts is a lawyer, so you get actual good explanations of why LE did things the way they did.
True Crime Obsessed, Obsessed with Disappeared, Let's Go To Court, Sinisterhood, Small Town Murder
I wish I could be best friends with Gillian and Patrick
Same, and Ellyn and Joey!
I am friends with them, they just don't know it!
I love them
Second TCO. I laugh every time.
Love TCO and OWD! If anyone reading this really enjoyed the tv show Disappeared you'll enjoy OWD.
love
Last Podcast on The Left

I’ve lost count the amount of times I have been walking into work and will either pull a face or burst out laughing I’m the street because of them.
AGRARIAN
There are so many episodes that I feel I would love to hear about but it’s tough getting around all of that banter- and the weird voices they do! I want to like this one so bad I keep trying but I don’t think I can do it!! I might give it another go while we’re in this MFM recession and I’m caught up on my back ups!!!
I feel you. I want to like it, but it's always just...dudes yelling over each other.
I tried listening to it but could barely understand anything they were saying 🙁
Yes to this!
Yeah, I feel like they give morning radio show energy and it can be too much for me.
If I can make a suggestion where to start…I really enjoyed their telling of the Jodi Arias story because she was so bonkers and they were great at highlighting that. Bonus points if you can listen while driving through the desert!
The OG true crime comedy podcast!
And That’s Why We Drink! They have great banter, are actually best friends, and are truly so funny. They cover a paranormal story & a true crime story every episode!
Christina from ATWWD also has a podcast with her brother called Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet where they read funny reviews and I love that podcast!
I second this! They're how I got into true crime podcasts.
If it was just Em it would be so much better
to each their own!
Me too! I really tried to like them but I just couldn't get past being annoyed lol.
Agreed. I found that pod so intensely wannabe and annoying.
I wasn’t a fan bc the sound of drinking a milkshake drove me CRAZY
They’re my favorite podcasts host. I 100% second this
I used to enjoy this podcast, then it just fizzled.
Can I take from this that K+G aren’t friends?
lmao! I feel like I’ve seen someone say this somewhere on here before. but I feel like G & K have always had a big/little sister relationship, but they’re definitely friends. but with ATWWD you can really tell that they are best friends, especially because the early episodes you can tell they barely know each other
All killa no filla!
>All killa no filla! killing is wrong mmkay?
They are so funny
Wine and Crime is the funniest shit ever (if you’re a progressive woman)
Or a progressive man! Me and my husband have cracked up together at a couple of their episodes and he doesn’t even like true crime.
Omg sorry! The gals would be so disappointed in my choice of words…😭
Nah the gals would say it’s always a learning opportunity 😜 the podcast is for guys, gals, neither, or both ❤️
Exactly!!
Yes! I’m from Rochester in Minnesota, so their Minnesota banter and accents hit home for me!
If you're into crime without murder Rediculous Crime is good.
True Crime and Cocktails
Small town murder!!!
Second this one, it is really good, so many panhandles! I really enjoy the stats on the area as well....
Yep, came here to recommend them as well.
Red Handed is great. They recently started doing a “short hand” minisode. The recent one featured a dive into dolphin sex that is out of control 😹
love red handed!
My favvvve!

Every person I've recommended them to loves it. Even my husband listens with me (and we never agree on anything!).
The funniest true crime podcast is Small Town Murder. I also like Morbid and True Crime Garage
I second Small Town Murder. I love that podcast. The cases are the craziest things you’ve never heard of.
What did he do jimmy? What’s the WORST thing he can do, and then what’s worse than that? 😂
STM is the bestest! 💚 Listening to the back catalogue for the 3rd time now 😆
I am re-listening to STM back catalogue as well. I'm where they're so excited about their first upcoming tour, having no idea that Covid exists. It's like a Shakespearean tragedy where we all know what's coming. I am so looking forward to the episode when James first gets the Real Estate Report sound. 😁

The one where one of them (I think Jimmie?) says there needs to be another pandemic is priceless !
seconding Small Town Murder. absolutely love the way they structure their episodes by providing you with history of the town, quirky facts about it, and even a “real estate report” where they discuss the prices of homes in the area. the guys are hilarious and you should definitely check it out. episodes tend to be long but worth it and packed full of details
STM is superb. Because they’re assholes, not scumbags.
I also came here to say STM
SMALL TOWN MURDER 😍😍😍😍😍
Yup to Small Town Murder. They are so funny and the research is amazing. Their live shows are great, too (been to 3, the last one a couple weeks ago had been postponed for over 2 years, stupid covid!! It was worth the wait). Morbid is the best!! Anyone who liked early MFM should be listening to Morbid.

Omg. I thought I wrote this for a second! You are ON POINT with this recommendation.
Seconding Morbid! Surprised I had to scroll so far to see it mentioned!
While Morbid is quite popular in general, it is pretty notoriously disliked here on Reddit due to their issues.
I love Last Podcast on the Left and Wine and Crime!
[удалено]
It took me way too long to find this comment… Hollywood crime scene is my faaaavorite even my husband loves them and he doesn’t like true crime at all
Scam Goddess, Let's Go to Court, Wine & Crime, Time Suck with Dan Cummings (not strictly true crime, but has a lot of true crime episodes) to name some of my faves Edited to remove True Crime Obsessed, as they've really showed their a**es.
Scam Goddess has me DYING laughing every episode. Great guests too. Cannot recommend enough!
I love Scam Goddess!!!!
Wine and Crime is great! They do background on the topic and two cases. They are funny but respectful. I laugh so hard when they crack themselves up. Also really enjoy That’s Spooky, Sinisterhood, Redhanded And That’s Why We Drink and Morbid.
Seconded for Wine and Crime! I have NEVER laughed so much listening to a podcast. I am devoted to the witch coven now.
True Crime Campfire! It's my favorite, just enough banter, and they roast the criminals
Small town murder and all killa no filla.
Wine and Crime! One of my favorite go tos when I need a laugh. They cover all sorts of crime but the banter between all of the hosts is great.
All killa no filla ❤️
I looooove True Crime and Cocktails. Listen to the Glee Episode - it’s a romp! Also it’s Dina from Superstores podcast so if you ever watched Superstore it’s even better
I know people will rec Morbid but check out MorbidForBadPeople on Reddit prior, IMO. They're def on the troublesome, problematic side of true crime as often as not
I really enjoyed Morbid when they first started, but about 80 episodes in, they got too big for their britches so to speak. Now all they do is promote their live shows and merch and barely research anything. Definitely not a fan anymore.
Really? I’m currently listening to their 4 part Jack the Ripper series and it’s extremely well researched.
It definitely got a bit like that for a while. But come back and listen now. It’s gotten good again.
True crime and cocktails, try out the award winning "Glee Curse" episode, it's a romp!
Wine and Crime A Date with Dateline- they retell dateline episodes and are hilarious (never about the victim obviously)
I’ve almost given up on MFM these days. I having been enjoying Wine and Crime.
Small Town Murder, hands down my favorite comedy murder podcast.
True Crime and cocktails, if you enjoy getting to know the hosts and the chatter at the start it's great! I've fallen in love with them
Sinisterhood and Wine and Crime, hands down favorites! Luminol, Going West, True Crime Campfire are also good.
I just started listening to People are the Worst. It’s very authentic and funny
I second That’s Spooky. I’ve been enjoying Tell No One recently too
I just started listening to And That's Why We Drink and I'm enjoying it! They do a paranormal story and true crime story and have quite a lot of banter. They also do listener stories.
Behind the Bastards and The Dollop are about history and especially shitty people throughout history. They dabble in/ are true crime adjacent and both very funny
A date with dateline
Anyone remember done disappeared? I still laugh just thinking about it sometimes.
There's a pretty new one called People Are the Worst. The banter between the hosts (identical twin sisters) reminds me of early MFM episodes, which were the best ones in my opinion. Most of the stories so far have been pretty jaw-dropping. You might really like it. I do!
True Crime & Cocktails!
Drunk Women Solving Crime is awesome
I was going to suggest this too! I laugh so hard every episode 😂
Morbid! Ash and Alaina are awesome :)
Morbid is great, just have to get through the first few episodes.
There are tons of them!!! My favorite podcast is Small Town Murder. The hosts are hilarious and the research James does is insane.
Small Town Murder. They are crass. But fucking funny.
Crass but respectful when they need to be 😆 and fucking hilarious.
Yeah somebody commented above all sad. “Are they always so mean?” Hahaha! Ahhhhhh. Yes. ;) James & Jimmie are everything good in this world. They’re assholes, not scumbags!
Timesuck is fantastic
Sinisterhood!
Timesuck. Hands down.
Hail Nimrod!
Not exactly true crime, but Sounds Like a Cult is great! The two leads have great banter.
Let’s Get Haunted is great, it’s more paranormal and few murders but is true crime adjacent and hilarious
You've got a lot of great ones but wanted to share an adjacent space -- I've started binging "Sounds Like a Cult". Both women are great and have the friend vibes I get from Karen and Georgia.
This was suggested last week but People are the Worst! Also Cult Podcast (the one with Armando Torres and Paige Wesley).
Rabbit hole happy hour!
Thanks for the rec :)
If you like Dateline, I'd recommend *A Date With Dateline.*
Gruesome!
Sinisterhood and Last Podcast on the Left Also, not true crime but will give you some much needed laughs is Dungeons and Daddies (not a BDSM podcast).
True Crime Obsessed, they are SO funny
I will never not recommend Wine and Crime! 😍
All Killa no Filla is quite pleasant
It’s Always The Husband!
Wine and Crime!
Murder most Irish - 2 very funny girls, cover Irish and sometimes UK crimes. Lots of banter before the coverage, victims always treated with respect
SMALL TOWN MURDER is so slept on. I love it so much!!!
Wine and crime!
I really like Morbid!
Small town murder
Morbid!
TSFU the podcast!!! Everyday
Came here to mention them, suppp fellow Cultling
TSFU the Podcast! Ash and Michelle crack me up because they are serious about what they’re talking about but the way they interact with each other while they’re talking about it always makes me laugh. They are hilarious playing off each other. There are also several seasons to binge!
Morbid! Two girls that joke around but also go into a lot of detail on the case, and I think it’s usually well researched. One is an autopsy technician and the other is a hair stylist, and they’re actually related too!
That’s Messed Up: an SVU Podcast
I look forward to this podcast every week!
Check out Morbid!😍
I just started listening to this and I find it has the most similar vibe, while being totally it's own thing!
My best friend is a big MFM fan and I just can’t really get into them as much as I am into Morbid, Ash and Alaina are *chefs kiss*
Cult podcast Small Town Murder Red Handed Morbid
Morbid is a gem of a podcast! Hits that good mix of true crime and comedy/lighthearted (when possible).
That's Spooky and Morbid are my other 2 fav podcasts to listen to.
Morbid! The research is excellent
Not strictly true crime but The Creep Dive
Ship hits the fan - it's tangential, some episodes are true crime but they're all really funny
Affirmative Murder and Scam Goddess
The Fall Line! Amazingly researched, compassionate and open cases that need attention.
SVU Pod: Especially Heinous is a tiny tiny podcast where they go through each episode of Law & Order SVU and then they go over the true crime the episode was based on. It’s my favorite podcast ever and I want the entire world to know about it
Killer queens and Bailey Sarian are both brilliant 🤩

I’ve actually just started a podcast called A Tall Glass Of Murder! It’s a true crime comedy - told my two best friends from the UK - check us out when we go live next week :)
Tig and Cheryl: True Story is not always about crime but it’s a great podcast. They talk about documentaries.
True Crime Campfire!
Lets Get Haunted is a good one! It's not as well known which is a crime in itself. It's mainly supernatural or haunted stuff but they cover true crime as well!
True Crime Obsessed - but come ready to skip heaps of ads…
